  1. To those saying "Lofton", if I'm not mistaken, he doesn't hide a strong disliking for the Sox, so don't expect him here.
  2. I say we put Orton in. I mean, what the hell do we have to lose at this point anyways?
  3. He wasn't always tubby. Harry on ESPN always said that Uribe was the most impressive man he has ever seen without his clothes on.
  4. I would hope that Konerko comment was just missing the green ink. How about Uribe?
  5. QUOTE(jasonxctf @ Dec 12, 2007 -> 12:13 PM) downtown is overrated. It takes forever to get there (Especially at nighttime), and isn't that cool. Kind of slummy down there too. Watch your wallet. I found the Strip overrated. Plus it's not that much less slummy. Downtown doesn't have people every 20 feet handing you call girl cards. First night there we went to the strip and I hated it. Second night was downtown, and I fell in love with Vegas. Downtown also doesn't take long to get to at all, if you stay downtown...where it costs less to stay.
  6. Anybody see this? I guess Journey found their new vocalist on You Tube: http://www.ticketnews.com/Journey-Turns-to...-Singer01271098 And here is a link to the guy with his band: http://youtube.com/watch?v=6HjcCzgCCX0 http://youtube.com/watch?v=90PGQPjIDEA&feature=related (This one is "Don't Stop Believing" and it's all close-up of the vocalist. The guy is REALLY good.)
  7. I went for the first time last year, and I also am not a big gambler but also wanted to play the blackjack tables. So here is my advice: Hit the $2.00 tables. You money will last you longer and the dealers are VERY helpful at them. Plus, those tables don't attract as many serious gamblers, so even the people at the tables will help you along if you need it. Avoid the strip and do your gambling downtown. We did most of our gambling at the Four Queens. http://www.fourqueens.com/ That was the one where the dealers were VERY helpful. Look for an older (50-ish) Asian guy dealing the tables. His name was something like "Friend" or something odd like that. I'll ask my wife later, she might remember. The strip is fine, but treat it like an amusement park more than anything else. If you order a drink at a slot machine, expect to wait a 1/2 hour to get it. Downtown you get your service instantly. Plan for A LONG time on the bus if you are going between downtown and the strip. Our bus ride, to go all of 7 miles or so, easily took an hour and a half.
  8. QUOTE(Brian @ Dec 10, 2007 -> 11:21 PM) Anyone know any secrets behind Criss Angel's stuff? He is amazing. I'll be impressed by him, or Blain or any of those guys, when I see them someplace where they are NOT on camera. You just don't know how much is staged (with all plants) and how much is trick photography.

QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Dec 10, 2007 -> 03:06 PM) Bam! There it is! Yeah, few movies excite me as much as this one. I LOVE everything I have seen so far. Though, honestly, I was looking forward to it from the very beginning. Age be damned! HE'S FRIGGIN' INDY!!!
  10. QUOTE(Texsox @ Dec 10, 2007 -> 12:45 PM) What kinds of stores will fall at the blade of the internet and which will survive. I'm thinking three stores will probably always be around on a local basis, grocery, clothing, and building supplies. I think book stores will always survive. Well, I think Borders or Barnes And Noble will. I don't know why...
  11. This thread has more "nerd points" all ready than any other thread on these boards!!!
  12. We had our Christmas party while I was in Disney. I usually try and find a way to not go to them, but they have always been mandatory (believe it or not). We have always been told that our parties are a great way to say "thanks" to our bosses, not vice-versa.
  13. He likes turtles. Sheesh, everybody knows that zombies like turtles. What's wrong with you?
  14. Well, the original point was that the original poster said going into 2005 we had Hermanson as a closer and basically made it sound like the closer spot was questionable. This wasn't true. Heading into 2005 the closer role was not a question since we had Shingo and he was so lights out the year before.

Just got back from Enchanted. By far the best movie I've seen this year. Just a great film, and Amy Adams is perfect in the role.

QUOTE(Controlled Chaos @ Dec 7, 2007 -> 12:35 PM) Wow....I don't think I've ever heard anyone describe Janeane Garofalo as very cute. To each his own. I think she's cute in a "you're attractive but you scare the s*** out of me" way.
  17. Actually? It's kind of weird...but I want a Nintendo DS, and my daughter wants me to get Nintendogs for it so I quit stealing her game.
  18. Small point, but didn't Shingo actually start 2005 as our closer? Then he became in-effective and we moved Hermanson in? Then when he got hurt we moved in Jenks? If I remember, Shingo was all the rage in 2004, leading us to being very comfortable in the closer spot.
  19. QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Dec 7, 2007 -> 01:15 AM) $10 on having never smiled in your life I'm betting it's an insane love of Bon Jovi.
  20. QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Dec 6, 2007 -> 01:10 PM) Yeah, and that's why we're friends and nothing more. She's crazy, and I love her to death, but she says ridiculous things that lead us down silly roads. I used to have friends like that.

  22. QUOTE(The Critic @ Dec 6, 2007 -> 08:06 AM) Admitting your weirdness is half the battle. I'm proud of you, my friend. Not you, I'm talking about Pratt. Pratt's friend is weird.
  23. QUOTE(The Critic @ Dec 5, 2007 -> 10:51 PM) You don't live longer without sex, it just SEEMS longer. .....or so I've heard.....
  24. QUOTE(The Critic @ Dec 5, 2007 -> 10:51 PM) You don't live longer without sex, it just SEEMS longer. .....or so I've heard..... O.K., you know where this post is going. By the way...you have one weird friend.
  25. QUOTE(The Critic @ Dec 5, 2007 -> 06:36 PM) Not this old fart. I've already told my wife (and anyone else who'll listen) that if anything ever happened to my marriage I'll never date again. I do NOT need that s*** ever again. Couldn't agree with you more. Dating sucked. Mind games. No thank you.
