  1. QUOTE(The Critic @ Jan 20, 2008 -> 11:43 AM) I like to leave things early, too, but that's not mandatory. LOL! Yeah, right. Tell me again, how many times have you seen the 9th inning of any games???
  2. QUOTE(Shadows @ Jan 19, 2008 -> 05:23 PM) It did happen That was no satellite, im telling you if you go to see it again you'll see it, its on the right side in the background.. Unless you are blind you cant miss it Oh, I'm not doubting YOU, I'm saying in those pictures posted up there you can't see it. I do plan to see this again, hopefully this week. Plus I surely will be buying the Super-Duper-Mega-Monster-Deluxe version of the DVD, so I will have plenty of time to freeze frame that picture.
  3. QUOTE(almagest @ Jan 19, 2008 -> 12:55 AM) Damn straight. Worked at a video game store for two years. Been playing since I was three. Oh, yeah? I'll show you, random anonymous internet guy! /buys PS3; tries to buy Wii but can't find one, settles for two Gamecubes duct-taped together Wow, 30 posts and stepping right up to being a GREAT poster! Nice!!!
  4. Knocking on wood. It's terrible, and I seriously start to lose it if I don't have something to knock on if somebody says something bad.
  5. QUOTE(KipWellsFan @ Jan 19, 2008 -> 11:42 AM) Pic #1 Pic #2 Yah these are some pictures of the splash. I still don't see a "splash" in those pictures. The big white thing on the right side of the screen was the cruise ship that was passing by. That was what I was watching during that whole part, as it seemed like we were being set up for something to happen in the background.
  6. I've been thinking more about if this film needed all of the marketing and publicity stunt type of stuff over the past few months, and I have come to the realization that if this film was to work 100% perfect, then you would have go into knowing nothing. Same way that Blair Witch worked best on those who knew nothing about it. Cloverfield benefits better though in the ways that it is still an exciting film, and BIG monsters are just fun to have around. But IMO this film would work best with NO knowledge of it at all. You learn as the cast does, and you enjoy their confusion also.
  7. Did anybody see anything out of the ordinary in the final Coney Island scene?
  8. QUOTE(shipps @ Jan 18, 2008 -> 06:27 PM) For those that have seen it,did it really need the special marketing? Kind of. Horror films pretty much always need help, and one that shows so little of the critter could use the help. It also added to the fun of the whole thing.
  9. QUOTE(sox4lifeinPA @ Jan 15, 2008 -> 05:36 PM) shoot... um...does anything happen in Idaho? What state did Twister take place in?
  10. I'm giving this one REAL high marks! I loved this movie!!! Best US monster film in YEARS! Slusho gets a slight mention. Jason is wearing a Slusho t-shirt during the party and up until the bridge. Probably after that point also...actually.
  11. My wife and I go out to dinner, and that's about it. We might get each other something small, and I always make her a card, but that is all. We get candies and small trinkets for the kids too. That was always a tradition when I was a kid. My mom and dad always got me a small box of chocolate and a card.
  12. QUOTE(almagest @ Jan 18, 2008 -> 01:03 AM) What I've been playing lately: DS: Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings PSP: Nothing as usual 360: Eternal Sonata PC: Neverwinter Nights 2 + Mask of Betrayer Safe to say you're serious about your video games???
  13. I had some grapes. They were in a ziplock bag that I removed from the fridge. I love working from home also, which is why it sucks I am here at the office.
  14. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Jan 16, 2008 -> 05:20 PM) Come on, you had to love when she said(not verbatim) "If I dont win this, my only other option will be to become a corrections officer back home....which I have considered." or something to that effect O.K., yes, you got me there. That may have been one of the greatest quotes in TV history. My fave for the season is going to be the political kid, for sure. He's just bad enough, but totally likeable to make him the one I am pulling for. QUOTE(Brian @ Jan 16, 2008 -> 04:37 PM) American Gladiators > American Idol /runs and hides They both suck on many levels, in all reality. BUT since AI is about music and not steroids and bad acting, I'll take AI.
  15. The stalker guy wins for the creepiest yet. That crazy girl with the fingers, Alexis, was one of the craziest yet. The judges all gave her decent comments and said she was good, but just not right for the competition. Then she walks out and goes on about how rude they were. Either she is insane (my vote), or somebody did some nice editing to make her look insane (not beyond possibilities). Princess Leia. Not much to say about her. I wonder how many of the people have slight mental problems. The social worker guy who was 39 and wrote his anti-sex song, there was something wrong there for sure. Do these people have problems, or do the cameras make them freak out a little and they just come across weird. I was quite happy to hear that the Chicago girl had a good voice. God, that would have been absolutely heartbreaking had she started to sing and then sucked. I was also impressed that when the judges asked her to tell them about herself that she didn't mention her daughter. Nice to see her avoiding the sympathy card with the judges. Save that one for America. The guy towards the end with the dreadlocks, I expect him to bomb in Hollywood. He's just the type that seems like he will. You can almost start to pick the ones that will do really bad there after having watched this show for any length of time.
  16. Most people lose their accents when they sing. If you hear an accent, chances are the vocalist is purposely putting it there to be in a certain genre. Such as those odd country singers who hail from Chicago and other northern states. Or odder yet, those Celtic bands from Chicago. Dave King doesn't really like to talk about his Fastway days. Which is sad because the first two albums are VERY good albums with some great vocals. The guitarist is Fast Eddie Clarke from Motorhead and the drummer was Jerry Shirley from Humble Pie and Blue Cheer. The original bassist was Pete Way, who was a founder of UFO. They turned to a crap band, but that was once King left. While he was in the band, they were very respected. If you ask me, part of the reason for Flogging (small part probably, but still a part) is the fact that he stopped singing for a few years and probably lost that voice. I would lay money on it that he couldn't do that anymore. His band after Fastway was Katmandu, and they had heaps of praise: http://youtube.com/watch?v=t-TxC64-TQM http://youtube.com/watch?v=NRYzWHIXyIE&feature=related Fastway was early 80's, while Katmandu was 1990.
  17. It's sooo weird that there is alcohol involved in that picture.
  18. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Jan 15, 2008 -> 07:59 AM) I am all for competitive gaming, but I found watching that Madden Nation show on ESPN to be boring and a complete waste of time. I dont know that the "MLG" appeals to me that much Well, if World Series of Poker and Blackjack can exist, I guess why not gaming. It will all depend on the personalities who play though. On the last season of Madden Nation, once that Coach guy got replaced, I lost interest in the show. Most of those guys came across as nothing but gaming thugs and were so far from likable. If those are the kinds of people that will end up on a MLG series, forget it.
  19. This kid RULES!!! http://break.com/index/funny-kid-isnt-sorr...huge-party.html
  20. Shouldn't the main goal and criteria of a GAME be to entertain? Within those rules, graphix and what not should matter very little. Pong can still be considered one of the greatest games ever, as well as Pac-Man. Heck, Tic-Tac-Toe is still played on blank pieces of paper all around the world.

QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Jan 14, 2008 -> 11:54 AM) Isnt that like saying "Zooey 101 is so much better than Drake and Josh" (This will probably only be funny to parents of 5-10 year old daughters like myself" ) Says you! Drake and Josh is comedic gold in comparison!!!
  22. QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Jan 12, 2008 -> 01:24 PM) I'm a little bit FlasoxxJim (and a little bit Rock and Roll), and certainly birds have a satiation ("I'm full") response. I think the bit about the animals "gorging" themselves in the story is a little misleading. In reading the story, I think the birds just got all gunked up in the soupy processing wastes and either sunk into the stuff or succumbed to cold because they couldn't fluff their feathers. Ummm...ewwwwwwwwwwwww....
  23. As kyyle can also back me on, Playground on the Wii is also insanely fun. Word of warning though, tetherball is probably the most physically exhausting game on the Wii. My arm still hurts two days later. I bought a pink DS right after Christmas. I wasn't able to find any other colors and didn't care to wait. Plus, the color of a game hardly defines ones sexuality...right? But anyways, I still have yet to see any in any stores. I'm REALLY glad I went ahead and bought my fruity little pink DS.

QUOTE(Brian @ Jan 13, 2008 -> 06:00 PM) Yup. Called "Teeth" or something like that. Just when you thought it was safe to go back into the bajingo. Isn't that the basic premise of Liquid Sky? I know that one has the infamous line of "I kill with my c**t".
