I puked on stage at the end of a rather intense performance.

Okey dokey, thanks for the clarification!!!

It would appear that I have missed some developments...how was he a "con artist"? I last heard he had some mental instabilities and had fallen off his meds.

Mt. Olympus, formerly known as Treasure Island. Indoor waterpark and indoor amusement park. They are still in transition mode so there were numerous things to be disappointed by. But, all in all, it was a good time.

I guess I'm weird with pizza, as for me it all depends on the day. Somedays I need a deep dish, and somedays it needs to be a Lou's. Other days it needs to be a Rosatti's. Somedays I need thin crust. Somedays it needs to be from Red's, somedays it needs to be from another place. I don't have an ideal pizza style, or place. Most days I prefer the thin crust though. But usually I like to make my own. Still testing different crust recipes out, and still experimenting with my own sauce. Pizza's more fun when you make it yourself. IMO. But then there are those days you just need a Little Caesar or Tombstone.

She sold, roughly, 350 CD's. See, this is where we get into a difference in taste. I thought Josiah could back himself up quite well. I didn't think his "Stand By Me" was terrible. Might not have been brilliant, but it wasn't terrible and I could actually see it being a pretty good version with some work. He also has a ton of personality in his voice. No, he isn't a "singer", he's a vocalist. He relies more on style. But this is my preference in most cases. The times when you get both the techincal and the style is the rarity, and I have yet to see that anywhere near that show. Hey, but obviously the judges and producers of AI are more in your mind, which is cool. Personally I am thrilled that the kid got booted. I think that was the best thing for him for his future. If he had gone too far he would have been sucked into the system and messed up. This was he stays indie, hopefully, and grows on his own, without the corruption of major labels.

QUOTE(retro1983hat @ Feb 14, 2008 -> 01:30 PM) I think they dumped Josiah because he might have some serious issues that the show does not want to deal with. Meh, could be. But you would think that would be just the thing they wanted for exploitation purposes. I have yet to see AI actually do anything in the people's best interest.

The Irish chick has already been signed to a label, and dropped. Which 16 year old? David Archelleta? The car kid bugged you, but this kid doesn't? Remember though, whatever you see on camera is just what the producers decided to exploit. Yeah, that Josiah kid cried, but I am betting no more than anybody else. The producers probably just chose that angle to go with on him. I agree with the politician kid. No idea what Simon saw in him. He was decent for a Broadway type of thing, or a Christian Music singer (my wife who likes a bunch of Christian Rock agreed with that one), but nothing like what they want. Though Josiah might not be what they are looking for, that is far from a bad thing, IMO. For the most part the producers are looking for somebody with a little personality that they can mold into their own creation. Even the "edgier" winners and top 10 folks are all "safe" versions of something else. Bo Byce might be an example of them being open minded, but there are a million Bo's out there, and a good number of them much more "outside" the box than he is. Same goes for Daughtry. They are a major labels idea of what "Rock" is. If a "Rocker" ever refers to themselves as a "Rocker", then that is precisely what they are NOT.

QUOTE(Texsox @ Feb 14, 2008 -> 12:01 PM) Sadly we may be watching someone with a serious mental illness. I'm starting to think it is more than just drugs and alcohol abuse. Might be, but I am still making a big ol' batch of popcorn and watching this implosion!!! -
Yeah, in my opinion them voting this kid off last night just shows how little that show knows about music. This kid has talent, serious talent: http://www.myspace.com/josiahleming He's more mellow than I normally go for, but I like him a whole lot. Gee, it would be neat if they let somebody stick around who DOESN'T need a pitch control program in the studio.

QUOTE(CanOfCorn @ Feb 13, 2008 -> 09:27 PM) I was drunk once and tried to light a cigarette off the stove...singed my Eddie Munster pretty good...especially since I had long hair at the time. Didn't look right until I cut it. Yikes. I think every smoker in the world has used the stove at least once. The key is to hold the cigarette to the burners, and then stick it in your mouth and puff. Don't put your face down there.

Ultra-conspiracy theory: Isn't Clemens a Texan? Isn't our President a Texan? Isn't he also a Republican? Heck, didn't he even have ties to the Rangers at one point?

Why of course he is, he even fits on a charm bracelet!

Might go out to dinner. My wife and I really don't celebrate Valentines Day.

I'm so glad my vote went to the right person. Not saying who that was...but I feel like I am part of a cool group of 18 people now.

Congrats to all!!! The winners deserved it and the losers deserved to lose!

Jay Mariotti RIPS Chicago Sports Stations
Kid Gleason replied to HuskyCaucasian's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
Welp, I don't like Mariotti, but he does rip MacNeil, North and Coppock, but also praises Laurence Holmes and says nothing bad about Boers and Bernstein, so it's kind of a wash to me. -
They should cancel them. The only award show that is judged by sales instead of artistic achievement.
-
How telling is this? I go to numerous message boards, and I have yet to find one with a thread about last nights Grammy's.

QUOTE(GoSox05 @ Feb 8, 2008 -> 12:58 PM) Levi 511 are a great jean. Although I think everyone in America should be forced to wear zoobas. How great would that be. Is this where my age shows??? What are those?

QUOTE(The Critic @ Feb 8, 2008 -> 10:33 AM) I almost never wears jeans. In keeping with the Fat Guy Uniform, I go damn near exclusively with sweats and shorts. I've never understood that one. Why is that? I mean, even in 20 below weather I always see bigger guys wearing shorts. Why?
