1/2 box of liguini jar of green olives pack of cherry (or grape) tomatoes 1/2 (or so) of proscuitto Fry up the proscuitto while the water and linguini get ready. Use a little olive oil with the proscuitto. Once that gets to a point of making you happy throw in the olives and tomotoes (having cut them in half) and heat them up. Oh, you can also add garlic or whatever seems tasty to that part of it. Also, cut up the proscuitto. Throw it all together when done and then add some fresh parmesan or romano. That simple little recipe has become a favorite amongst everybody I pass it on to.

Grab yourself some hot italian sausages, some boneless chicken parts (pretty much 1 sausage to 1 chicken brest ratio type of thing), pepper (green, red, orange, yellow...whatever), an onion, some garlic, a bunch of red potatoes (cut 'em up), throw all of that into a tin foil bag, throw that into the oven at about 400 degrees for almost an hour (check it though as it might cook faster than you expect). All of the flavors blend together and it's an amazing meal that reheats very nicely.

QUOTE (knightni @ May 19, 2008 -> 10:33 AM) Happy Birthday! This guy wanted to give you a hug... we said no. Hey, as long as he doesn't wear them fancy swim shorts, I'm fine a hug from him. Oh...wait...you mean the Gillman??? It's still so weird looking at Critic with an avatar. Not sure how to explain this to the kids. Thanks all!

QUOTE (Controlled Chaos @ May 16, 2008 -> 10:10 AM) Any one ever hit that coca cola place in Vegas? I went there years ago, but I remember being able to try different drinks from all over the world. Some weird flavors out there. That's like Club Cool at Epcot.

Any bubbly drink (soda, pop, whatever) made with Cane Sugar smokes the corn syrup versions. Sprecher makes a cola, Puma Cola, which is incredible and a dang close clone of the original cola styles. I really, really, really want to try some of this stuff: http://www.dublindrpepper.com/ I need to just bite the bullet and order a case. As for what to call it...well...since it is made with soda water...ummmm

I thought this was a joke when I first heard it. But this is real?

12,275 on my iPod. Through my work computer and my two computers at home I probably have about that many more.

QUOTE (CanOfCorn @ May 1, 2008 -> 03:19 PM) Two things...one, she was a very attractive 18 year old and he knew and and stole it from her. Two: this isn't enough. He should be beaten to a literal inch of his life, brought back to health and beaten again, for each person's life he ruined, INCLUDING the 3 day old boy that died. Or lock his ass up in a 3X3 windowless box in the middle of the Town Square for the rest of his natural life. But you are missing the horrific part right before that:

I'm sure my wife has it in her queue for Netflix, so I am sure I will see it eventually. I'll look for it in there. Jim Caray wore out his welcome for me when he started shooting for an Oscar. It just became painfully obvious that was what he was doing. Now, that being said, I did enjoy him in Series Of Unfortunate Events and though he was very good with voice work for Horton Hears A Who.

QUOTE (Texsox @ Apr 30, 2008 -> 09:47 AM) You can manage my netflix queue anytime. Anger Management was about the only film I could tolerate Sandler in. He is one of the few actors that I just will not watch anything he is in. Give me your password. I've seen numerous Sandler films, and somehow I keep seeing more of them. I actually saw that Chuck And Larry crap last summer. It was part of a double bill at the drive-in, and I do like Kevin James, so I was hoping he would help counter-balance the Sandler factor. It helped, but the movie still sucked. I haven't seen Anger Management, but I have to admit to not being a fan of Jack.

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Apr 30, 2008 -> 08:36 AM) Kid, every movie you either haven't seen, don't like or refuse to see are some of my favorites comedies. You suck. LOL! But there are only a couple on there I haven't seen. Which ones of the "haven't seen" do you recommend? My problem with South Park is that the TV show bugs me, so I sure won't see the movie. But the others I just might give into. Sandler flicks, well, I can't change that. If you're a Sandler fan, that's cool. I'm obviously in the minority when it comes to that guy.

I didn't get my votes in, so I have no rights to whine about anything, but here is how I see the films everybody chose (not that any of you care): QUOTE (knightni @ Apr 25, 2008 -> 04:25 PM) 1. Animal House - Never got the crazy love for this film. I like it, but that is it. 2. Dumb and Dumber - Good flick, but Kingpin was the better film from them. 3. Monty Python and The Holy Grail - Plain and simple, the greatest comedy film ever made, though Fawlty Towers is the greatest comedy of all time. 4. Office Space - Top 10? Eh, not sure, but probably top 20. 4. Airplane - Yup, perfect choice here. 6. Blazing Saddles - Ditto. 7. Tommy Boy - Egads. 8. Caddyshack - Great flick. Another great choice. 9. Dr. Strangelove - Not a fave, but dang funny. 10. Anchorman - I keep falling alseep during it. One day I will finish. 11. The Blues Brothers - Funny, but too damn long. 12. The Big Lebowski - Nice Marmit 13. Old School - Has its moments, but that is about it. 14. Young Frankenstein - Love it more due to it's love of the source material. 15. Wedding Crashers - About the same as no. 13. 15. The Naked Gun - Should be Top 10. 17. Happy Gilmore - Adam Sandler does comedy? Huh, I thought he only did crap. 18. 40-year-old Virgin - Hugely overrated. 19. Swingers - Actually never seen it. 20. This Is Spinal Tap - Nice to see this down at 20. Overrated. 20. Planes, Trains, and Automobiles - I always saw this as more of a Drama with some funny bits. It's a brilliant movie though, whatever it is. 22. There's Something About Mary - Good placement for this. 23. Groundhog Day - A brilliant performance from Murray in a good movie. Good spot. 24. The Graduate - I'd go higher, but hey, it made it in. 24. Austin Powers - Ugh. The first is O.K., but the others...whoo doggy. 26. Meet The Parents - Might be a tad high on the list, but the first viewing was damn funny. 26. South Park Movie - Never seen it, never will. 28. Clerks - One of my wifes favorite movies. The whole film is carried by the video store guy. 28. The Princess Bride - Brilliant movie I would place higher, but am surprised to see here. Nice call! 30. Spaceballs - The beginning of the "terrible Mel Brooks" films, IMO. 30. Knocked Up - Good flick. 30. Ghostbusters - Love this one, I would place higher. 30. American Pie - The sequels and insane early love hurt it for me. I like it though. 34. Forrest Gump - Comedy? 35. Superbad - Have yet to see it, and a close friend tells me to take my time seeingit. 36. Harold and Kumar - Love it. This one benefits from good material with brilliant casting. 37. Borat - On my "to see" pile. 38. Vacation - Great movie. 39. Fletch - I like this one more just for the performances and characters than anything else. Just fun to watch. 40. Ace Ventura - Yeah, good placement. 41. BASEketball - Never seen it, probably never will. Just no interest. It's good though? 41. Kingpin - This would be in my top 10 for sure. "How do I look?" 43. Billy Madison - Again...Sandler makes "comedies"? 43. Ferris Bueller - Yeah, good placement. Kind of a Fletch type of thing. The material is good, but the performances carrry it. 43. Rushmore - Bill, he is the God Of Comedy in the last half century for sure. 46. Half Baked - Never seen it and would expect it would all go over my head like Cheech and Chong movies. I've never smoked, so pot humor doesn't work for me. But I liked Harold And Kumar??? 47. It's a Mad Mad Mad Mad World - My wife loves it, we have it, I have watched it 5 times or so...and I still don't get it. I even love old comedies, but this one just misses me. WAY better than Rat Race though. 47. History of the World: Part I - Great stuff, would place a little higher. 49. Team America: World Police - Actually ashamed to say I have yet to see it. 50. Napoleon Dynamite - Wouldn't even crack my "Top 1,000" list.

I was drinking absinthe a few weeks ago. For as high as the alcohol is, it is actually a very smooth drink. I like the stuff, but it will never be a regular drink. It's also still expensive as hell right now. I think I paid about $40 for the bottle I have. Word of warning though, if you dislike black licorice or anise, stay well clear of absinthe.

QUOTE (Texsox @ Apr 29, 2008 -> 06:11 AM) fixed. There are a lot of things an 18 year old can do when not drinking, that become a problem when they start drinking. Shooting automatic weapons is a great example. The military doesn't trust you to shoot automatic weapons or drive a tank after a few drinks. It's all about ages and stages. There are sixteen year olds that would do a better job voting then 18 or 21 year olds, but as a society we do not believe that the majority of 16 year olds would be. But I agree, if you are in the military, you should be allowed to drink. Well we could all sit around and talk about what should be, and that's fine. But the simple fact is that it is against the law to drink under the age of 21 and the Sox and their organization back that law, as any business would. To whine about makes no sense at all.
-
Lordy, are we really complaining about the Sox actually enforcing a law like underage drinking? Seriously? I mean it, are you people really surprised that a corporation, one who tries to push "family fun", doesn't want a bunch of drunk underagers on their property? This is a business, not you local frat house. Sheesh...amazing. "Gee Bob...I was just shooting heroin in the parking lot with a couple of hookers, minding my own business, and they actually threw me out!"

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Apr 28, 2008 -> 12:41 PM) Might want to update the subtopic to 7 children per CNN on my lunchbreak. I believe that it is 7 total, but only 6 who are alive.
-
QUOTE (CanOfCorn @ Apr 27, 2008 -> 09:00 PM) That's not enough. I think they should give each and every family member a bat and they just go to town. I'm not one for the death penalty, nor do I want to start a debate about it, but if there was EVER an argument for it...this is it. I am shocked, appalled and utterly disgusted that a person like this even exists. Even better, strip this guy naked and set him loose in the desert and let him rot. Pretty much a perfect quote right here.

Yankees Dig Up Concrete At New Yankee Stadium
Kid Gleason replied to Kyyle23's topic in The Diamond Club
QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Apr 13, 2008 -> 11:39 AM) I wouldn't call it panic mode. If the Sox were building a new stadium and somebody put a Tigers or Cubs jersey in the foundation, I'd expect us to do the same thing to get rid of the poison. If the Sox did act that way, I would seriously have to re-consider being a fan. -
QUOTE (FlaSoxxJim @ Apr 11, 2008 -> 04:52 AM) Young Frankenstein maybe? I'm betting Caddyshack.

QUOTE (FlaSoxxJim @ Apr 9, 2008 -> 01:05 PM) More something I just tossed out there to see if you'd catch it, after seeing you seconding w3hat I had PM'd knight about having to exclude Marx Brother films. Though for some reason you never seem to get picked on as one of the old guys, and that's starting to torque me off a bit. See, I was smart, I use "Kid" in my name to throw everybody off.

QUOTE (Shadows @ Apr 8, 2008 -> 11:51 PM) All of their facial hair is awesome You are either old, or a f***ing dork if you dont like it.. this is how we roll these days.. Right now I have some civil war chops with a boone logan chin goatee on the way.. its awesome Yeah, facial hair is for the young. That's why every friggin' guy in my company looks like a rejected record shop employee, no matter how old they are. Young people wear the goats as do middle aged men going through their mid-life crisis.

Cool, so it wasn't some insane coincidence, but rather a bit more of a joke at my expense. WHEW!

QUOTE (FlaSoxxJim @ Apr 9, 2008 -> 07:30 AM) The Lillian Gish was a tall drink of water, I tell ya. HA!!! Do you know about my insane love of Lillian???

Why only the past 50 years? Is it because we know nothing touches the brilliance of the Marx Bros.?
