  1. QUOTE (The Critic @ Jan 2, 2009 -> 05:31 PM) I can't believe I forgot one of my favorites of the year, definitely a Top 5 CD: Valient Thorr - Immortalizer I thought you were lukewarm on that one.
  2. Marvel uses real world cities and locations (aside from Latveria, Dr. Doom's home country). DC uses fake locations. Not so sure Metropolis was meant to be in Kansas. I always took Metropolis for New York for the real world counter part. Gotham? I always thought Gotham was it's own place with no real world counter part.
  3. QUOTE (knightni @ Dec 31, 2008 -> 07:09 PM) Their burgers are really mediocre. I thought they were pretty darn good. I mean, we are talking fast food style burger, so the chance of it being truly good are pretty impossible. I don't rate fast food burgers on the same scale as a TRUE burger, ya know? When I am REALLY in need of a burger, I never, ever, not in a million years, think of a fast food joint.
  4. After years of waiting, I finally got to try a Sonic! One opened right by my office. Verdict: The drinks are killer. No doubt the lemon berry fresh fruit slush is the thing dreams are made of. The cherry limeade is also incredible. Bacon cheese burger toaster: VERY good. Chili Cheese Tater Tots: sucked eggs. Onion Rings: Good to very good. I haven't dipped into the other foods yet, but those tater things REALLY were crappy. I recommend doing the fries.
  5. http://arstechnica.com/news.ars/post/20081...locking-up.html I love my iPod.
  6. QUOTE (Cali @ Dec 31, 2008 -> 04:45 AM) My New Favorite Band: Bringing the Heavy + Bringing the Funny + Cute Girl in Glasses as your singer who can SCREAM = Awesomeness... There are a whole bunch of these bands showing up now. It's kind of funny how it is now becoming kind of cool to like these bands, when in all reality they sound exactly the same as Black Metal has sounded for years, yet if you package it looking like this people are drawn to it.
  7. QUOTE (kyyle23 @ Dec 28, 2008 -> 02:04 PM) Apparently when his buddy was gunned down a few years ago (Proof, I think), it hit him extremely hard. The album is supposed to drop in the next couple of months(it was supposed to be December 08 but got pushed back) I am pretty sure you can hear a single off of it already online Is it true he goes back to his glory days and sounds like a mix of Ride The Lightning and Master of Puppets???
  8. QUOTE (LosMediasBlancas @ Dec 28, 2008 -> 12:36 AM) Do you have a link for the dog wiping out that kid?? That's hilarious! Shave the beard by the way. Pretty much what he said.
  9. From what I have heard though, this is supposedly Pitt's finest performance, so I guess I can understand the shooting.
  10. QUOTE (shipps @ Dec 28, 2008 -> 08:19 AM) Thats why you gotta ask a family member to borrow you one of theirs.....or he could just ask Flea. Yes, but not every family is overly giving with handing out their organs.
  11. QUOTE (shipps @ Dec 26, 2008 -> 08:51 PM) That doesnt really sound right if you ask me. What kidney disease would he be dieing from so suddenly? Kidney failure would have been a long process that we would have heard about ,and why wouldnt he just get a kidney transplant? Though a kidney is probably the easiest and most common transplant, I will say that a transplant relies on other people, and not enough people in this world have their heads out of their asses and donate their organs. Speaking of reclusive music folks, whatever happened to Eminem? Can't stand the guy, but his complete vanishing act is pretty darn tooting interesting. Also...whatever happened with the Van Halen tour? They canceled it for mysterious reasons, and that was that. Nothing has been heard since then, and the official site still reads at the middle of the tour. Nothing about a cancellation or anything.
  12. QUOTE (knightni @ Dec 24, 2008 -> 09:26 AM) Speaking of no physical activity... I may have some "reader" comics if you're interested. Oh yeah, like what?
  13. QUOTE (greasywheels121 @ Dec 24, 2008 -> 08:23 AM) I will never understand how anyone likes winter. It sure is pretty to look at. But the second any form of physical activity gets involved, it sucks.
  14. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Dec 15, 2008 -> 02:50 PM) 30 Rock has been pretty weak this season IMO. I loved the Steve Martin episode.
  15. QUOTE (knightni @ Dec 23, 2008 -> 05:10 PM) Um, I'll offer you like a whole $20 for them... I'm sure that they're just filling up space that they need for other things. Pshaw! Don't listen to Knight, he's trying to rip you off! I'll give you $50!!! They might not be worth that much, but for your effort I am willing to help you out.
  16. Staying at my house with everybody coming to visit us. That is my ideal way to spend it. Oh, and my company will be shutting down until Jan. 5th, and with the weather I might just take tomorrow off. So far it is looking like a lovely Christmas break.
  17. QUOTE (The Critic @ Dec 23, 2008 -> 02:27 AM) Kid hates the Pixies, but others here (including me) enjoy them. I like the fact that the young'uns talk about the hip-hop, other whippersnappers enjoy the alternative groups, and the "wily veterans" wax nostalgic about the bands of yesteryear, all in the same forum. Very, very, very true. One of my most hated bands.
  18. QUOTE (knightni @ Dec 22, 2008 -> 08:32 PM) Ah, I have ones from the 70s-80s-90s. I'm slowly getting to those. I was in and out of comics my whole life, but oddly enough I don't think my love for them has ever been as strong as they are now. I'm friggin' 38 for crying out loud and am now REALLY into them.
  19. These are all the new titles. I collect the Marvel Essential line for the older books. In those I am getting Iron Man, Daredevil, Fantastic 4, Avengers, Captain America. Pretty much, as you can tell, I'm a Marvel freak.
  20. Pull list: Captain America Amazing Spider-Man Daredevil Moon Knight Deadpool The Wonderful Wizard Of Oz (mini) Iron Man: Director Of Shield The Invincible Iron Man Flash Gordon The Walking Dead Batman: Gotham After Midnight (mini) Then there are the ones I pick up off and on. But those are the mainstays. Was doing the Marvel mini-series Secret Invasion and New Avengers and Mighty Avengers also. But S.I. finally ended and I am not overly interested in the direction of the Avengers titles right now.
  21. QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ Dec 22, 2008 -> 03:08 PM) Sometimes I wonder what the hell ARE consumers spending their money on? Everyone just isn't keeping it under a mattress. There has to be some companies thriving, because I sure as hell see alot of cars on the road and they're all going somewhere. I'm spending my money on comics. Isn't that what everybody spends their money on???
  22. I always saw a "scene" as the city, but the music styles define the scenes. Seattle is known for the Grunge scene, LA was best known for the Hairband thing with a smaller nudge to the late 70's Arty Punk. Washington D.C. in the 80's was known for its Punk scene. New York known for it's Punk and Metal bands. Minneapolis for the Punk bands that would eventually all become what was known as "College Rock", which eventually became called "Alternative". Obviously Chicago is known for its Blues scene. So the scene would be the music genre within the city. When I was heavily into the Punk thing in the 80's my friends and I would always greet each other at shows with a "hey...how's your scene?" as a joke. The Punks in the 80's were VERY serious about the whole "support your scene" thing. We always joked about the killer scene we had...in Crystal Lake.
  23. Not sure how underrated of a scene it is. As soon as you start getting into music, one of the first things you learn is that Minneapolis is a hotbed of great bands. Without a doubt one of the most important cities in the US for music.

So...Time Magazine placed Iron Man in the Top 10 of 2008. The Dark Knight was NOT on the list. heh...heh...take that DC.
  25. QUOTE (Texsox @ Dec 17, 2008 -> 08:29 PM) For you, how about is there anyone who sold more than a dozen copies (family and friends don't count) of their last release that you DO like? Oh...then nevermind. I got nothing for ya.
