QUOTE (lostfan @ Apr 1, 2009 -> 11:34 AM) btw: for anyone who's hesitant, it's not an April Fool's joke, you'll see. Will it get me in trouble at work???

QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Mar 31, 2009 -> 10:33 AM) Curious as to what you guys like/dislike with the Afternoon Saloon..... Dislike: Jurko and Harry Like: Not listening to the show.

Wolfmother has a new free tune available. http://wolfmother.com/ Not too bad. Nothing earth shattering, but considering the band left the guy...he did O.K. on the rebound.

Did the Shamwow work on the blood??? I almost bought some Shamwow's yesterday...but then I got my s*** together and walked away.

QUOTE (FlaSoxxJim @ Mar 26, 2009 -> 12:54 PM) Great guess, and I made sure to say "official" Stooge to disqualify Palma's body double stint as "fake Shemp" after Shemp died. The 7th official Stooge was asked by Moe to be a Stooge several years later to replace Larry after he died. Here he is: Damn. Stooge-nerd.

QUOTE (FlaSoxxJim @ Mar 26, 2009 -> 12:42 PM) Quite right. Joe Besser was quite an established and respected solo comic act before his short Stooge stint, but his wimpy persona ("Not so haaard!") and refusal to take the brunt of most physical slapstick kept him from ever meshing well at all with Moe and Larry. Besser also was known by kids of my generation addicted to Saturday morning Hanna-Barbara cartoon fare as the voice of Babu the Genie in the cartoon adaptation of I dream of Genie. More of the useless trivia clogging my brain. It's hard to say anything nice about Curly Joe. Trivia Time: There was actually a 7th official Stooge in the Three Stooges roster. Name him. (Mega cool points if anybody can do it without using teh Google). Joe Palma, the "fake Shemp".

QUOTE (kyyle23 @ Mar 26, 2009 -> 11:49 AM) My dad lived in Johnsburg(McHenry) and had wellwater. When his filter was working(it clogged a whole bunch because of the sediment) it was fine. You could tell the water was super filtered and had a weird "soft" taste to it, but it was drinkable. Without the filter, it was like drinking something with grit and the smell of rotten eggs. It was really bad Ya know...thinking about it...my wifes family still lives in Johnsburg and I was just there two nights ago and had water to drink. Again...tasted fine to me.

I grew up with well water and never noticed anything wrong with it. We had a water softener, but now I am on city and I still have a water softener. I still get the egg smell every now and then. Some people actually do prefer well water, my mom being one of them.

QUOTE (FlaSoxxJim @ Mar 26, 2009 -> 10:39 AM) Shemp was totally brilliant, and anybody who thinks of him as a lesser Stooge can pick two of these [holds up hand, gets ready to gives 'em a Two-fingered Moe to the eyeballs]. Now, Joe Besser and Curly Joe Derita, on the other hand. . . Those were some crappy Stooges. I agree 100%, but he is still considered inferior to his little brother.

QUOTE (FlaSoxxJim @ Mar 26, 2009 -> 10:35 AM) Somebody help me out. Is the new Stooges film is going to be a documentary or just a straight-up comedy in which modern movie makers with no original ideas rape the bones of the original Stooges to make a buck? If it's the former, then ok, I guess there's a point to the film which may or may not end up being any good. If it's just a comedy remake ala' cinematic failures like the atrocious Little Rascals and Beverly Hillbillies remakes, then there is a 95% probability it will suck ass no mater who they cast. It's a new Stooges movie, not a biopic or documentary. Steve, I know it is 2009, not 1950. But even to this day people will say that Curly Joe is nothing compared to Curly or even Shemp. The idea of people playing the roles of real people who played characters is exceedingly odd and shows how bankrupt originality has become. Brain Donors was a thinnly veiled Marx Bros. clone, but at least nobody was named Groucho in the credits.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Mar 26, 2009 -> 10:07 AM) That'd be awesome. I don't get, at all, how anybody could possibly see anything good coming out of a new Stooges flick, especially one with a cast such as that. I mean, people had a problem back then when Curly was replaced, and they replaced him with the original guy! Now we have a new film, with people playing the parts of the real people, and this is a good idea!?! Crazy man...absolutely crazy.

QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Mar 25, 2009 -> 05:39 PM) It snowed like f'ing crazy up there this winter, and now they're feeling it. There's flooding all throughout, including Fargo and Bismarck, and I'm pretty sure I read where Obama said it was in a state of emergency. My house is in part of the possible flood zone, and though we have had none of it yet, my parents did receive a call at 9:30 this morning saying that there was mandatory evacuation. Turns out that was a false alarm, so they're still sitting OK as of right now, but I have no idea what is going to happen in the next week. They apparently blew up some of the ice jams that were along the river, and they believe everything went well, but there's still flooding in quite a few parts of southern Bismarck. I'll try and update this a bit. Keep Little Canada in your prayers. Seriously? I have family in Fargo...I should probably call and see how they are all hanging in there.

I WAS RIGHT WITH STRAWBERRY!!! I'M KIND OF, SOMEWHAT, A LITTLE, SMART!!!

When do we get the answers? I think I know #4 and that is it. My guess is a strawberry.

Listening to the new one from The Answer, Everyday Demons. Easily the best damn band out there doing the "Classic Rock" schtick. It never sounds like a gimmick with them and sounds just so damn natural. The vocalist, Cormac, has one hell of an impressive voice making it all complete. If you aren't familiar with them yet, and like just great ROCK, check them out for sure.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Mar 23, 2009 -> 03:25 PM) That was produced by him... along with a bunch of others. The movies that Apatow actually directed are... 40 Year Old Virgin Knocked Up and the coming soon film "Funny People" which looks extremely promising. I don't know...a movie called "Funny People" and starring Adam Sandler sounds like false advertising. I'm planning a class action suit against Apatow all ready.

Wait, Finding Sarah Marshall was Apatow? O.K., so that means I skip I Love You Man even though it looked kind of funny, as I thought Finding Sarah Marshall sucked HUGE eggs and though Anchorman was just O.K. at best?

QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ Feb 17, 2009 -> 12:50 AM) Afterwards I'll tackle "Swan Song," which is a novel similar to The Stand in its plot of a group of people surviving a post apocalyptic world. I actually enjoyed certain aspects of it more than The Stand. It's at the very least equal to it. Right now I am reading World War Z by Max Brooks. Cool book, but due to the style it is really hard to get fully wrapped up in it. You never grow attached to any characters, and IMO in a book of this sort that is a detriment to the book.

Steak and Shake now has mini burgers. This country is obsessed with mini burgers lately. I just don't get it.

Oh come on, this is still to this day the greatest TV character:

QUOTE (LosMediasBlancas @ Feb 26, 2009 -> 12:50 PM) You guys should be ashamed of forgetting The Police And Dinosaur Jr. I didn't forget them. I remembered them both just fine.

It sounds dumb at first, then I clicked the link and saw U2 did the music, and it instantly jumped to the most idiotic thing I think I may have ever heard of in the entertainment industry! I take back anything nice I said today about U2 on another board.

That's awful kind of you! I appreciate that!

If there was a chance that you would do that, and I did buy a station, I garauntee you I would be moving into your house until it happened.
