QUOTE (RibbieRubarb @ May 30, 2009 -> 11:04 AM) UP can truly be considered one of Pixar's best, if not one of the best of the year so far. Most recent live action romantic movies wish they has the emotional whalop in 90 minutes that UP has in its first 10. It is a glorious, thrilling adventure full of incredible images and characters that will delight any kid and adult. It is also one of the funniest films of the year. It is really a major achievement. Plus... Before the film is the teaser for Toy Story 3 which got the biggest applause from the audience last night See it in 3-d or 2-d...it doesn't matter. Just go see it. I can't wait to see UP! I'm looking forward to TOY STORY 3, but Slinky jst won't be quite the same as he was in the past.

Just seeing that pictures sends my nuts into my belly...so I will pass, thank you.

Ooops, almost missed another birthday wish! Happy b-day ya old fart!

Can't stand the stuff and won't go near it. Just the idea of it kind of gives me the willies.

QUOTE (FlaSoxxJim @ May 29, 2009 -> 12:35 PM) I wonder what the hell happens to John at the end of the book. The title fits perfectly. The book reads like Joe R. Lansdale hanging with H.P. Lovecraft and discussing the old hardboiled detective novels. Wacky stuff for sure!

Just started reading John Dies At The End by David Wong. Holy crap this book is wonderful so far!

QUOTE (kyyle23 @ May 21, 2009 -> 07:17 AM) How many of you are bathroom readers? I have a buddy who says he only reads while on the toilet. That just confuses me though. It must take FOREVER to finish a book, and must really suck if you hit an exciting chapter and don't wish to put the book down.

Happy birthday!

LOL! That is pretty awesome. I'm thinking of picking that one up now!

Just joined Good Reads. So far I actually think I prefer it to Library Thing. The layout is quite easy on the eyes.

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ May 20, 2009 -> 01:03 PM) No one a fan of goodreads.com? False Alarm posted about Good Reads a few posts up above us right now...maybe on the bottom of the previous page. I had never heard of it, but I will surely be checking it out now! Thanks for the tip to you both!

I've gone back to reading a lot lately. Not sure why I stopped. I think it was just a lack of time, but I am working on making up for it now. I'm reading The Summoning by Bentley Little right now. I've liked everything I have read from Bentley so far, and this is starting out as one of his best so far, which is the reputation it has. Also grabbed the newest issue of Cemetery Dance magazine last night (along with a couple of books), so I am reading through that right now. Anybody else on here use Library Thing? It lets you list 200 books for free, but for $10 a year you can list as many as you like. I am thinking I will be spending the $10 soon. I like the site quite a bit. Here is my link: http://www.librarything.com/home/CarlIsonhart I think you can see it like that.

Hahaha! Actually no, I took some tips from the Soxtalk Gym thingy up there and implemented them and they actually helped me a lot. Consider this place a little responsible for my getting my ass back to working out.

Thank you! Appreciate it a whole bunch! QUOTE (shipps @ May 19, 2009 -> 08:38 AM) Where the f*** have you been anyways? I actually drop in everyday when I get the chance. I'm not in the 'net much lately due to the place I work for telling everybody they are cracking down bigtime on 'net use. Then summer is starting so the kid activities are picking up. Plus during times at night when I have normally been on I have been either working out or reading. I got tired of the shape I was falling back into and decided to get back in better physical condition. This time out it turned into something completely different and I am in the best physical condition I have ever been in, even finally kicking my blood pressure meds out of my life. So it has become high priority for me to find time to run, and that causes most other things to take a back seat. But depending on the way the day plays out I run anywhere from 3 - 5 miles a day now. Sorry...I know this is a bit of a winded reply...but it is my birthday and I can get chatty if I choose. LOL!

QUOTE (lostfan @ Apr 14, 2009 -> 07:41 AM) God damn dude, lighten up a little This debate shows up here every couple months and it's ridiculous. I'm not the one who said they want to slap people in the face for using a word. Sarcasm or not.
-
Am I the only one here who has to think REALLY hard as to what he calls the stuff everytime this discussion comes up??? I swear, I must use all of them, "soda", "pop", "soft drink", and or "soda pop". Ya know, everybody wants to hit people for using one or the other. Me? I personally want nothing to do with some high and mighty twit who thinks they are above somebody else just because they choose one dumb word over another. Who really gives a crap what somebody calls a liquid?

Since there have been so many day games so far, as is usual in the beginning of the season, I have heard more Farmer and DJ than I have heard Stone and Hawk. I like what I have heard from Stone and Hawk, but I have to say that so far my favorite part of the change is how much more listenable the radio has been. IMO DJ and Farmer are a VERY good pairing. I had grown sick to death of Farmer in recent years, but DJ makes things so much better.

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Apr 10, 2009 -> 02:18 PM) E2 nightclub was sued for a stampede, Great White (rock group) was sued for a pyrotechnics display that resulted in a stampede. Well, technically they were not sued for a stampede, but rather the fact that over 100 people were killed in the fire that resulted from the pyrotechics. Great White and their pyro guy were at fault.

QUOTE (Alpha Dog @ Apr 3, 2009 -> 08:49 AM) More bacony goodness to fill our souls. And by souls i mean arteries with heart-stopping plaque and other assorted bad stuff. http://phdmatt2002.deviantart.com/art/Bacon-Soda-32036881 http://www.thinkgeek.com/stuff/41/squeez-bacon.html The Think Geek one was an April Fools joke. Same as the sleeping bag mentioned earlier.

QUOTE (FlaSoxxJim @ Apr 3, 2009 -> 08:06 AM) Actually licensing from LucasFilm, and not just saying you did in a gag, will be a guaranteed dealbreaker. Sadly. Well, they even say it is a longshot on the site to get Lucas to agree, but they are looking into it.

QUOTE (CanOfCorn @ Apr 1, 2009 -> 01:01 PM) One word...awesome. Best. Sleeping Bag. Ever. Turns out it was an April Fools joke. Bastards. But I guess they had so many orders they are looking into making it real.

QUOTE (FlaSoxxJim @ Apr 1, 2009 -> 02:00 PM) That is great. Then again, what else would you expect from the company that gave us fuzzy hanging 20-sided dice? If this van's a rockin' don't bother knockin'! . . . because you know my Level 12 Ranger will be kicking orc ass!! If you had used a Bugbear reference I would have given you a bowing smiley also. I always LOVED Bugbears.
