QUOTE (FlaSoxxJim @ Aug 20, 2009 -> 03:48 PM) Uhm, yep, tailor. Oops. I just figured you were thinking of changing your name to Nova.
  3. QUOTE (FlaSoxxJim @ Aug 20, 2009 -> 01:40 PM) Those are classic standing pint glasses, and they are the go to glass for most "standard" beers. Like Kid says, most beers work well in anything, and there are a few styles that need specific glassware. Though I do prefer the classic pint glasses, the ones that actually hold a pint:
  4. It's also a "mood thing" though. Fezz is a prime style beer that you just have to be in the mood for. Most Christmas style beers are like that. They're like the anti-Oktoberfest beers. Whereas most Oktoberfest beers are wonderful, and at that time of year you are always ready for them and they are enjoyable through all of the colder months, a Christmas beer is usually a "give me one and I am done" type of creature. I rarely look forward to breweries rolling out their weird ass spicey stuff.
  5. QUOTE (bmags @ Aug 20, 2009 -> 12:27 PM) I ask because you know, being young you learn things occassionally. But I was drinking ole fezzywhigs last winter out of a bottle and was not enjoying it, the carbonation was masking it and it just came off us more bitter than I like. Then I put it in a pint glass and it sat for a few and then it was a much more pleasant experience. If that's a universal thing, to always put it into a glass, it would be good to know. That might also be because Fezz is that type of beer. Somedays it is good, others it is complete crap. Some brews are like that. Somedays Newcastle is one of the greatest beer made, others it is one of the worst.
  6. QUOTE (FlaSoxxJim @ Aug 20, 2009 -> 12:23 PM) You drink out of your glass and I'll drink out of mine. Seriously, that is a good discussion topic. The main key is to drink it out of a glass. After that it boils down to how "snobby" you wish to be. The only one I am a complete snob about: Trappists and Abbey Ales (one in the same to the beginner) should ALWAYS be decanted into a chalice of some sort. If you do not have something close to a chalice style glass, don't even open that dang bottle. Duvel should pretty much always go into a Duvel glass. This is mainly due to the insane style head that is created when pouring one. It doesn't matter how much experience you have pouring a beer, a Duvel head will ALWAYS get away from you. This is mainly due to that being the intent. It is a HUGE, creamy, meringue style head. A Weiss should go into a Weiss style glass. Those are the TALL skinny glasses you see people drinking from. Fruit or no fruit in your weiss: I actually prefer my weiss without the fruit 90% of the time. It also kind of depends on how much I am planning to put down. If I am out to really let go, then I do the fruit. I think the added fruit wedge might help with the following morning. But remember, adding a wedge to your beer instantly takes you from "beer mode" to "Kool-aid mode" and you will find you are putting them down MUCH faster then without the wedge. With a Hacker-Pschorr, that can lead to hitting a wall REALLY fast.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Aug 20, 2009 -> 12:13 PM) Im worried about this one. The re-shot a ton of the footage, the look of the Wolfman was completely redone. Click the link, he doesn't appear to be redone. They went back and added more CGI, and you can tell from the trailer how they did it. I know Rick Baker is bummed about certain aspects that they changed from his work, but even he is still hopeful for the film.
  8. QUOTE (FlaSoxxJim @ Aug 20, 2009 -> 11:14 AM) Gleason is the resident Stooge expert I think - or was it someone else here who used to watch them with his grandfather?? I'm fair to middling in Stoodeology. Nope, not me. Though I like them, I am a much bigger fan of the other comedy teams. I'm a Marx Brothers fanatic and I will take Laurel and Hardy over the Stooges any day of the week.

Trailer for The Wolfman has been posted online!!! http://movies.yahoo.com/feature/the-wolfman.html?showVideo=1 Looking really good!!!
  10. QUOTE (FlaSoxxJim @ Aug 19, 2009 -> 10:46 PM) No I haven't seen it. I watched some of a couple of Three Sheets episodes online and that looks like a good one too. I seriously think those guys have the greatest gigs in the universe. I would drink some good ol' virgin-saliva-fermented corn beer in a heartbeat just for the experience. Three Sheets is a million times better than Thirsty Traveler, mainly due to Zane Lamprey being friggin' hysterical and the guy on Thirsty Traveler being kind of a snob. Dang near identical shows, but one is a conniseur while the other is a stand-up comedian who likes to party.
  11. Beer drinking has been calmed down, but I still drink only the finer things. The whole reason is more for the loss of weight thing. I suggest letting that Beast age as long as you can. It was a VERY potent brew in the alcohol burn department. I have a feeling the longer that badboy sits, the better for all. I still have one of mine in the crawlspace and am waiting for the prime time to crack it. Maybe the way you can "repay" me is that we both agree to crack them on the same night and write about them here.
  12. QUOTE (knightni @ Aug 17, 2009 -> 05:12 PM) What's the story/rules involving sending alcoholic beverages through the mail/UPS/FedEx? Are there dos/don'ts? I've only done it once before. I can't remember if there was anything special done. Technically you are not supposed to do it. You do run the risk of the bottle blowing though, as if it is flown you can almost bet that the plane is not pressurized. I know many a person who has brought beer back on trips and they have lost bottles due to this. One of my buddies brings back Stone brews every time he goes out west, but I think he keeps the bag with him on the plane to avoid explosions.
  13. QUOTE (FlaSoxxJim @ Aug 15, 2009 -> 12:53 AM) Ideally, you all will chime in and turn me on to some must-try beers and spirits too. Oh, I know!!! There's this beer...it's HIGH alcohol...it's called The Beast! Stop me if you've heard this one before...
  14. Ya know, I might not play football better that Favre, but I sure as hell hope I can retire better than he does, because he sure sucks at that!
  15. I also think the Red Wings jersey on Cameron actually fits perfectly with the character. It never occured to be before, but it helps show how "lost" he is, how misguided he really is.
  16. QUOTE (FlaSoxxJim @ Aug 6, 2009 -> 08:37 PM) But you let the whole Cubbie love thing slide? On the Ferris DVD Hughes is sure to point out, quite vehemently, that he is a diehard White Sox fan and that he hated using the Cubs anf Wrigley. But he wanted a real game, and it called for a day game. The Sox were not going to be in town on the day that he had permission, if I am not mistaken. There are reasons why it was the Cubs and Hughes hated having to show them instead. But Hughes himself was very strong in stating he is a Sox fan.
  17. For a little while there my status updates were chronicaling the zombie uprising. I would post about my being out walking the dog and hearing strange noises coming from the graveyard I walked past. I think I ended with me boarding myself into the attic. I actually had people replying to me in a serious manner. I am convinced those quizzes are all b.s.. They just pull random answers that have nothing to do with how you answer the thing. I also don't get any of the games though. Mafia Wars? What the hell is that? Street Racing and stuff like that? I have about 150 requests or crap sent to me regarding all of that stuff, and since I don't get it, it is just sitting there waiting for me to accept or deny it all.
  18. QUOTE (Tex @ Jul 22, 2009 -> 11:22 AM) And maybe that's why I like the historic but not the current and recent. Pants Rowland also comes to mind. I can think of another one.
  19. The only time I got close to crying over a celebrity death was when Stiv Bator(s) died. He had such a HUGE influence on me musically (and style of dress) that it was a pretty harsh blow. In the years after though I have also come to find that he was actually one hell of a person also. You won't find a bad thing written about him anywhere. It just seems such a huge shame that the guy is gone, and that he died in such a pointless way.
  20. 1 dog, Cocker Spaniel named Molly. She's a really good dog, though quite dumb at times. 2 Human children also. 1 boy and 1 girl. They can be a little tough to care for sometimes. The human girl had a pet hamster named Squeeky, but that kicked it yesterday morning. I'm praying that I didn't move onto any dang Indian burial grounds due to the amount of animals that are getting buried in my backyard. My zombie fighting skills might get tested soon.

Anybody see the trailer for this film: http://movies.nytimes.com/movie/453778/It-...t-Loud/trailers It's called It's Going To Get Loud In Here and is Jimmy Page, The Edge and Jack White hanging out and talking tunes and playing together. I'm not a big fan of any of them, but the movie looks like an absolute must see for anybody who is into music at all. One of the most fascinating trailers I think I have ever seen. Shivers actually running down the spine with this one.

    Conditioner

When I had long hair I wouldn't dream of a day without conditioner. But since I have lost my hair, I don't even think about using it. I miss the days of needing the stuff.

QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jun 4, 2009 -> 07:57 PM) Did anyone see some idiot was trying to write a sequel to A Cather in the Rye? He should be burned at the stake. I agree he should be burned at the stake, but only because he is helping to keep that original piece of crap alive. Lord, I HATED that book. I will never understand why that thing is so beloved.
