  1. QUOTE(CrimsonWeltall @ Apr 24, 2006 -> 07:59 PM) Build your own. This is what I am doing the next time for sure!!!
  2. I think Ric has too much integrity to spend too much time with the past. He gave them all his blessing though, and I think he recommended them hooking up with Rundgren. In all honesty, Rundgren hits the Okasek sound pretty decent on the new song. I have known for quite sometime that this was going on, as I belong to a Gretsch guitars discussion board and Elliot Easton is a member and he started letting little hints start slipping a long time ago. But I didn't know a new song had suddenly shown up until I was flipping through the channels and saw Elliot in a new video, so I stopped to watch and sure enough, it was The New Cars. The new album (a live one with a couple studio tracks) is just about to come out.
  3. 3 hard drives in one year, and they refused to send me a new machine. I kept insisting it was a bad motherboard, they kept sending me a refurbished hard drive. Plus, I couldn't understand a damn thing they were saying. I use Micron at work, and I love it.
  4. But remember, in the beginning The Cars were NOT Pop. Pop caught up to what They were doing. The sound of Pop became what The Cars were, but in their decline. But The Cars were always too cool for the radio and the popular world, which is why they went away just when they hit their biggest success.
  5. People who complain that "there is nobody making great music anymore" are just f***ing lazy.
  6. I'm convinced The Cars are the most beloved band of all time. I know people who hate The Beatles, but I don't know anybody who hates The Cars. Though the new song by The New Cars is just O.K. at best. It might be better with Okasek or Orr (RIP) singing instead of Rundgren, but eh, it's not what one would hope from a band that is trying to be anything related to The Cars.
  7. My only bit of advice: Avoid Dell like the plague.
  8. QUOTE(chisoxdavid @ Apr 24, 2006 -> 04:55 PM) They should of added the Ada B. Wells projects. The old Soldiers Field would of been nice. But it had its landmark status revoked. Though it is up for a Nebula Award this year. http://www.sfwa.org/
  9. QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ Apr 24, 2006 -> 03:22 PM) Love it. You love the fact that these might be innocent people going through this? You studying to be a copywrite lawyer? That's the only way somebody could see something positive about what is happening to that family. Man, I'm all for protection of the artist, but the music industry has been raping the public and it's own artists for too long. I myself look forward to the day where the industry is dead and stinking and the artist themselves are making the money by selling through their own sites only. I'm glad that 90% of the bands I listen to have no part of the major labels. I've had my stuff sold behind my back by somebody making copies of my CD's. He was charging $20 per disc. I told him to lower the price to $5, as the quality wasn't worth the $20. If the industry really cared about the artists that they are supposedly trying to protect, they would give the artist a larger share of the sale, let the artist control their material more, and they would also maybe promote more of the bands. The girls biggest offense is a s***ty taste in music.
  10. QUOTE(Controlled Chaos @ Apr 24, 2006 -> 02:35 PM) Now that loaction will be cursed. If you own wrigley field it's pretty much set in stone you will not win the game. LOL!!! You're looking for a "POTM" with that one!
  11. It's amazing how great Shatner is in some things, especially his non-Kirk, non-serious roles. The guy was incredible on 3rd Rock From the Sun, and is almost just as good on Boston Legal. For me, the original Trek is the only one I ever kind of liked, and I didn't care much for any of the movies. Oh, I did like the one with the Borg, even though that was the Next Generation cast. But that was a pretty cool movie.

    Photoshop fun

QUOTE(Steff @ Apr 24, 2006 -> 08:44 AM) I did not do this (I can't do that stuff to save my life) but it made me lol. I love that! I'm not an Oprah fan at all, nor am I a Hitler fan at all, but put them in the same place, and I become a rabid fan! I bet Hitler would have been a great guest for Oprah. Could you imagine that interview? Whew, and we thought that Tom Cruise bit was wacky, imagine that one!
  13. QUOTE(Texsox @ Apr 22, 2006 -> 07:28 AM) He initiated the sex, he will be help more accountable than she will. That's the key to this case. If it can be proven, and I don't know how, that she reasonable could not know (drunk, dark), then perhaps he'll even be found guilty. As presented in the article, in the US, I think it would be diffucult to get a conviction. He had a willing partner in a different room, why would he rape her roommate? Now if the willing partner looked like William Shatner in drag and the roommate looked like , he may also have to deal with that. (although I know it shouldn't matter). Bottom line, he initiated the encounter and will, and should, be held to a higher standard. It's the only way our laws would work. She said she refused him, and he got up to go to the bathroom. Rape? No. Could he have actually known what he was doing? I suppose. That is what they will probably be trying to prove, that he knowingly went into the wrong room. I would guess that is the only way they will get a conviction. The other key to this depends on how "really drunk" he was.
  14. QUOTE(Texsox @ Apr 21, 2006 -> 03:24 AM) 80s great body or great imagination? Hmmmm, tough one. Great body. (but are wel talking me having a great imagination...or the other person? Oh hell, I have to stick with what I have posted, the wife is as smart as a whip, but she has no imagination or creativity in anything, and she gladly admits it) Pearls Before Swine or Get Fuzzy. Readers of them will get it.
  15. QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Apr 21, 2006 -> 02:39 PM) I'm making my first trip to Lawrence this summer for a wedding - anything that's a "must see"? I don't know about "must see's", but Lawrence does have a pretty killer music scene. I can find out what bands are sure fire good shows if you are interested in that.

    Baby saved...

QUOTE(mreye @ Apr 21, 2006 -> 01:58 PM) I still hate cats. They hate you to. They hate everybody. That's why I love them so much.
  17. QUOTE(Capn12 @ Apr 21, 2006 -> 01:32 PM) Theres a Sonic down the road from me here in South Carolina. Nothing special IMO. I'd rather hit the In-n-Out in Vegas 10 times over. Never been to an "In-n-Out", but the name always disturbed me. I guess it's a good thing they aren't a hot dog stand.
  18. QUOTE(Rex Kickass @ Apr 21, 2006 -> 12:54 PM) However, there is one on 6th Street in Lawrence, Kansas. Yeah, one of my best friends lives in Lawrence. Maybe I'll have him go get a burger and eat it for me.
  19. QUOTE(Wedge @ Apr 21, 2006 -> 11:51 AM) The smartest thing the Cubs could do would be to make a trade with the Royals for Meinkeiwetklsdfictz. And then with any luck Wrigley would just collapse and we would be rid of three things that suck.
  20. QUOTE(Jeckle2000 @ Apr 21, 2006 -> 12:58 AM) Just seeking to gather some opinions on it here... Do you think the slideshows look better then just stacking the photos... Do they seem to work correctly on your computers? If would could give me your opinions I would appriciate it... One of the complaints I have heard the most, and I agree, is why don't people stick the pictures in the "pictures" pages instead of adding them all over the damn first page and making the page so damned annoying. Yours isn't terrible, but it could fall into that catergory easily. But it is My Space, and obnoxious is the name of the game, so in all reality, you're slacking.
  21. People get fancy with their pages and they just get obnoxious and ugly. I keep mine simple and try and let the blog be the attraction. That and the killer music I feature. Great band on there right now.
  22. I'm going to be in Vegas in the end of May. Are there Sonic's in Vegas? My buddy has been raving about that chain, and it might be my only chance to try one. Look at me, going to Vegas and I'm looking for fast food chains. :rolly
  23. QUOTE(Steff @ Apr 21, 2006 -> 10:59 AM) Give 'em some slack.. they aint got much else to do these days. Nice going, you know that's going to bring more out claiming how mean you're being now.
  24. QUOTE(Steff @ Apr 21, 2006 -> 10:41 AM) Shut up. No one deserves to be laughed at for an injury. Where was anybody in this thread, or this situation on these boards, laughing AT Lee? This chowderhead is making claims about this situation, on these boards, this thread. I read nothing laughing at Lee personally. It's just some guy trying to stir crap up, or reading too much into what is being said here. Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go hide a certain voodoo doll I have here...
  25. I'm sorry, but this story is damn funny!!! Even he knows it's funny, he looks happy in that mug shot. Nice to see Harry Caray found a way back to earth though.
