QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Jun 1, 2006 -> 05:04 PM) All the Young Dudes was a better album than MOTT. It was just an example. I also wanted to use a Mott album that wasn't universally regarded as their best. I was REALLY trying to say something with my statement as you can see. Hammerhead, I would be open to giving more Hendrix a try. I'm just not sure I want to spend the cash to check out all the stuff you are mentioning. But I try to keep an open mind. And hey, I have a ton of "Classic Rock" in my collection. T-Rex, Mott The Hoople, Sweet, Slade, NY Dolls, MC5 are all among my favorite bands. Or is that not "Classic Rock"? Faces also just might be my favorite band, if I had to use that ugly category "favorite band".

Ya know what honestly gets me? The fact that The Beatles are replaced by The Beatles basically, and that the rest of the Top spots are the same ol' bands as always, without Hendrix. Just once I want to see somebody step out and say "f*** it, the greatest album ever was Mott by Mott The Hoople" and for people to quit following along with what everybody else f***ing says. I'm soooo sick of the friggin' Beatles...and of that friggin' Hendrix guy.

No idea. I just know the albums listed there and on CNN don't land in my "Top Anything" list. Here is the Top 10 as listed on CNN: The top 10: 1. "Definitely Maybe," Oasis. 2. "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band," The Beatles. 3. "Revolver," The Beatles. 4. "OK Computer," Radiohead. 5. "(What's the Story) Morning Glory?" Oasis. 6. "Nevermind," Nirvana. 7. "The Stone Roses," The Stone Roses. 8. "Dark Side of the Moon," Pink Floyd. 9. "The Queen Is Dead," The Smiths. 10. "The Bends," Radiohead. Some great variety there...

http://news.yahoo.com/s/afp/20060601/ennew...is_060601105226 Funny, none of the albums listed even make my "Top 50"...or possibly even my "Top 100".

Happy birthday you two! I only bought one gift, so you two will have to share.

QUOTE(Dick Allen @ May 25, 2006 -> 10:12 AM) I've been there and its great. On Saturdays they have duck fat fries, very tasty. What the hell are those!?! They sound slightly disgusting.

When I first heard Ian had passed, I mixed him up with Miles. I was oddly enough most familiar with Miles, even more than I was Stewart. Miles was pretty much the man responsible for The Lords Of The New Church being around for so long, and they even gave him the vocal bit in one of their songs. Those three brothers were so dang valuable to the "underground" scene during the 80's it's almost impossible to think about. One of them found and managed, another signed, and the other influenced. Crazy.

This man is responsible for sooooo many great bands. Yes, he was Stewarts brother also. http://www.cnn.com/2006/SHOWBIZ/Music/05/2...d.ap/index.html RIP Ian, and thanks for the great bands.

Two things: I'm not a huge fan, only kind of like the guy, but Prince was friggin' killer tonight! The other thing is that I am really amazed and quite impressed with the Clay Aiken progression. He really looks comfortable on stage, has a strong presence, and actually looks pretty cool now days.

Congrats to you Soxy!!!
-
WOW!!! My fave from the first showing of him won!!! That's really cool!
-
Kat's much, much, much hotter! Plus, Kat flashed the world, and that's pretty cool!
-
Happy belated birthdays to you both!

QUOTE(Heads22 @ May 24, 2006 -> 01:22 PM) When did the Virginia state slogan become "Virginia is for lovers"? It used to be "Virginia - f*** you!", but the t-shirt and bumper sticker sales were pretty poor.

QUOTE(kyyle23 @ May 24, 2006 -> 07:05 AM) My wife was watching The View yesterday and she said that the Dixie Chicks refused to perform on the show and the girls from the View were ripping them left and right. What reason would they refuse to go on the View? The Dixie Chicks seem to have an attitude problem as of the past 3 years or so. I understand being upset over what happened in the past, but if they can't understand why people got pissed at them, then they're pretty ignorant. I would guess that bailing on The View would be connected, since the main Chick is a little sensitive about that it seems.
-
Damn. I had to try, you understand.

Oooo, exciting!!! I'm a Chevrolet Corvette! You're a classic - powerful, athletic, and competitive. You're all about winning the race and getting the job done. While you have a practical everyday side, you get wild when anyone pushes your pedal. You hate to lose, but you hardly ever do It's funny though, I said I wasn't competitive.

I guess this is pretty well-known footage, but I have never seen it before. It's a climber named Dan Osman. Yeah...he's pretty good at this. There is no trickery in this, it's just friggin' INSANE!!! http://www.break.com/index/fastclimb.html I impress myself when I jog 2 miles. I suck. p.s. big shock...he's dead now. But he died "free-falling", aka bungee jumping.

QUOTE(Brian @ May 23, 2006 -> 09:46 PM) That brunette is all types of pretty. Don't watch, so don't know her name. That's Taylor. Go to work and tell everybody you think Taylor's hot.
-
Hey cool! Start sending me next years gifts!!!
-
Taylor was better, no doubt. But at the same time, if that last song is the type of crap they are going to be forcing them to record and release, then I wish Taylor had lost about 10 weeks ago. Let McPhee have the Diane Warren written B.S. fluff. Both songs were typical modern Pop crap and the exact reason the music industry is tanking. Total crap.
-
I want Taylor pulling out some Sam Cooke. Another Otis tune would be cool also. He needs to hit on his Soul, R&B and or Gospel influence and it will all be in the bag.

Bruce Levine speculates about Cubs suspensions
Kid Gleason replied to BigSqwert's topic in The Diamond Club
Has an appeal ever worked against the player? Ya know, they all sit around, look at the circumstances again and then come back with a "ya know, now that we look things over, you're a dick. Make it 20 games." -
Day is done and gone now. Thanks for the comments!
