  1. Sox webcast, if you'd rather hear familiar voices: https://www.mlb.com/whitesox/video/cws-sd-spring-training-webcast-92229
  2. Lance Lynn made his spring debut today. He got pulled after 24 pitches in the 1st, topping out at 93. Came back for the 2nd and pitched a clean inning (nearly gave up a 2 run HR, but it was caught at the top of the wall). Got ejected by Angel Hernandez after one out in the 3rd for chirping about the zone. Final Line: 2IP, 3H, 4ER, 3BB, 2K, and one ejection. Maybe two ejections, because he went to the bullpen to finish his pitch count, and he's apparently being kicked out of there too.
  3. Sox get on the board with a Fletcher double, DeLoach bloop single, and Shewmake sac fly.
  4. Horn went 2 innings. 0ER, 1H, 2BB, 3K, and a GIDP.
  5. Fedde seems to be maintaining his high ground ball/weak contact rates from KBO. Second inning: Naylor popout, HBP > steal > seeing eye RBI single. A second GIDP ends the inning. Third inning: Walk, pickoff (commentators compliment the move), two groundouts. He's done after a pretty efficient 3IP with 1ER, 2H, 1BB, 0K.
  6. Benny and Nicky worked walks to leadoff the first, but were stranded by a LRJ K and Sheets GIDP. Fedde gave up a leadoff hit to Kwan, immediately erased by a GIDP. Jammed Ramirez for another groundout. Very quick inning, like 6 pitches or so.
  7. Also, the Spring Breakout Roster ICYMI: Veras and Schultz the most notable absences to me.
  8. Keeping the starting OF off the wet grass I guess. New start time estimate 2:35PM CST.
  9. Sorry, I should have noted that the showcase post was months old. I was sharing for the video/context.
  10. Two walks, no K's, no easy first pitch outs, and smart baserunning put them in a position to benefit from BABIP luck in the first place. Taking advantage of the opportunities presented to you is good strategy.
  11. In addition to the main game today, Sox and Dodgers are also playing each other on the backfields: Glasnow carved up the prospects through 3, but they tagged him for a couple runs in the 4th. DeLoach is making some good contact.
  12. A couple of new entries on the MiLB transaction tracker: C Alvaro Rios, 17, Panama SS Jehancarlos Mendez, 16, DR
  13. Sox played a B game against the NC Dinos (KBO) on the backfields today, which is Fedde's old team.
  14. Several teams (including the Sox) did that last year, but now it's back to being limited games for everyone as far as I can tell. MLB just likes to arbitrarily make their product harder to access it seems.
  15. Sox added on a pair with the help of KC's defense struggling, Colas and Sosa knocked in one each. Popeye made a couple of nice defensive plays at 2B to help wrap things up, though Solesky still gave up a run to lose the shutout. Sox win, 6-1. Nice to see them hit 4 XBH (doubles from Benny and Shewmake, 2HR from Sheets), and give up none.
  16. Bailey Horn throws a scoreless inning, three flyouts and a walk. Two of the flyouts were routine, one was run down in LF foul territory.
  17. Digging a little deeper into the depth chart on a split squad day, so Jacob Burke is in the game! Hope he gets an AB.
  18. Quick inning for Speas, three soft contact outs. Jacob Gonzalez makes an appearance.
