  1. Both. No production for the Yanks, and none of the traded guys produced at the MLB level for another team either. But at least the second part probably changes soon with Oliver Dunn (2019 11th round Yanks pick, Rule 5'd and then traded) making the Brewers OD roster.
  2. I suspect this will be made official just after midnight on Friday.
  3. White Sox South strike again, all but assuredly dooming their season with these terrible castoffs from a losing organization.
  4. I'm guessing they plan to carry 9 relievers until they need the 5th starter spot. Shaw has a rubber arm and doesn't seem to mind hanging out in Charlotte until he's needed again when you cut him for Nastrini (or whoever) in a couple weeks.
  5. Fedde's pitch report: https://baseballsavant.mlb.com/player-scroll/game?gamePk=747817&player_id=607200 His stuff was up a tick today, while Leasure/Garcia/Brebbia were down a tick. He took a comebacker to the leg, but should still be on track for OD: Korey Lee's 6th inning double would have been a HR at home (and in 18 other parks). Still a chance we see him to start the season, as Stassi is dealing with soreness from readapting to catching after his time away.
  6. Luis Gil has apparently made the Yankees' rotation, which could make for a somewhat relevant comparison for Crochet's workload. Gil pitched ~30 IP total in 2022-23 due to missed time from TJ. He did clear 100 IP in 2021, but missed 2020. Yanks say no innings restriction for him this season.
  7. Could be, but you can find similarly complimentary language about Pillar and Moose too. Pillar also had a whole podcast interview episode. Which is why it was always silly for folks to get so worked up assuming that a guy was getting a roster spot and 400 ABs because the manager/GM/beat said some cliché thing about their intangibles in ST...but I digress.
  8. Moose doesn't surprise me at all, Pillar does a bit though.
  9. Fletcher's first HR of the spring has the Sox up 5-0 vs. the A's. AV and DeJong with the other RBIs in an inning that featured a Moncada bunt single and 3 SBs.
  10. Poor Aaron Bummer just can't escape his tragic BABIP luck...
  11. Old friend Jake Burger hit his first HR of the spring today, raising his ST line to .139/.162/.250. Hopefully it gets him going, he had a sub-.300 OPS before today. Tim is hitting .194/.194/.323 in 31 AB. Declan Cronin has been pitching very well in Marlins camp with a 2.16 ERA and <1 WHIP in 8+ innings.
  12. Crochet has spoken repeatedly about how the five day routine of a starter feels better for him physically than prepping to go a couple times a week from the pen. It seems like he is (currently, small sample size) having an easier time holding his velocity in the third inning of a single outing than he did in his second appearance in a week out of the pen last season. If you think he would have been capable of throwing a normal relief workload this season, It's not inconceivable that he could throw more innings (and stay healthier) by virtue of making half the appearances with a starter's rest in between.
  13. Sounds like Brebbia will be ready for opening day.
  14. Why? Most of the value of spring training is for SP to get their reps in.
  15. I personally love how ST performance has gone from entirely meaningless to career defining over the course of one half inning and about 10 posts in this thread.
