  1. As expected, Houser/Civale seem like their back up plan
  2. He's available, but the price is reportedly very high.
  3. 0 innings anywhere other than SS through ~1500 pro games.
  4. Yep. We want them to stop spreading limited FA money across multiple low ceiling guys, and just spend a little more for an upside swing? Well...
  5. Still room for it to get wilder. The Astros medical staff has the chance to do the funniest thing ever now...
  6. Tauch actively prefers to stay. He has an 8 month old with health issues and likes being near his family and support network. With him also being productive on the field and a plus in the clubhouse, I have 0 problems keeping him. Maybe I'd send him across town if Cubs want a reunion, but I'm not pressed at all about missing out on some fringe A ball player return. Not like he's blocking an OF prospect right now either.
  7. Pipeline #14, #30, and an unranked reliever.... Yeah, just run it back.
  8. They must REALLY think Miller can stick as a future starter...or are keeping Cease?
  9. But his phrasing makes it sound like he's not actually "reporting" that firsthand. Seems more like an "if this is true" than an "I can confirm" framing.
  10. Lots of (deserved) attention on the rookies, but props to Sosa for coming in off the bench to knock in the go ahead run. He has quietly gone 24 (!!!) PAs without a strikeout, with 10 hits and a walk during that K-less streak. Still an aggressive swinger (the RBI was on a pitch out of the zone) but cutting down the K rate would be big for him.
  11. Yeah, definitely less than I expected given the reported bidding war for him.
  12. Might not have a choice if this drop is fatigue related
  13. Barons win 10-0. The staff has pitched 3 consecutive shutouts. Braden 2-4 with a walk, SB, and 2K, Antonacci 2-5.
