  1. Still no Colson...
  2. Schultz' former piggyback/rotation mate Mason Adams is currently cruising through his WS debut. He's through 5IP with 1ER and a healthy number of pitches remaining. Gave up a solo shot in the 6th, but turns in a quality start nonetheless. 6IP, 2ER, 6H, 2BB, 3K.
  3. Popeye ?
  4. 2R walkoff ? for Harris, his first HR.
  5. Unpredictable overperformance: Very predictable underperformance:
  6. McDougal looked good tonight. 4IP hitless, 1BB, 4K.
  7. A couple of fun reads on 11th rounder Rikuu Nishida: Cape League: Rikuu Nishida at center of Hyannis Harbor Hawks success (capecodtimes.com) Riku Nishida, the fifth Japanese player in history to be drafted to the Major Leagues after studying abroad “Miraculous Reversal | FRIDAY DIGITAL BA had him as the Sox' most interesting Day 3 pick.
  8. It's been all offense in Bham lately, but today the pitching carried the load. A solid 5IP/2ER run start from Cannon backed up by 4IP of hitless relief from lefties Schoenle and Scolaro. Barons win 3-2, and the GWRBI was on a bases loaded HBP.
  9. Reyes turns in another 4IP scoreless (and hitless!), 2BB, 5K. Hasn't given up a run in his past 5 outings, totaling 15IP.
  10. Does feel like he has more power from the right side maybe.
  11. Bases loaded, exactly where we wanted them. The one run was on a sac fly in game 1.
  12. Well hit RBI double for Quero. This team is fun.
  13. Colson looks mildly annoyed with every ball thrown off the plate to him, but doesn't still shy away from taking close pitches for a walk. Just such an impressive approach.
  14. Nastrini finishes at 5.2IP, 3ER, 4H, 2BB, 8K. He looked good, but the velo was down a couple ticks at the end. 90ish pitches.
  15. I feel like Colson has to be getting bored with free bases. just 4 hits in August, but a ridiculous near .500 OBP thanks to 7 BBs and 5(!) HBPs. Throw him strikes! On the bright side, 3 of the 4 hits are XBH. 2 doubles and a HR.
  16. Batista done after 5IP. 7H, 3ER, 6K, 0BB. I like the stuff.
  17. Oh my word, Veras just destroyed his first Barons HR.
  18. Should have been 1, but Popeye bobbled a DP ball. He has 4Ks through 2IP, throws a lot of fastballs, sitting 96. Ramos shows him some love with a go ahead bomb.
  19. Batista looks pretty good. Just one hit through 3IP, though it did score (single, WP, would be DP ball that advanced the runner, sac fly). Struck out the side in the 3rd, 4Ks total. No walks.
  20. This guy went 3-4 today.
  21. Speaking of good pitching lines, Schweitzer also turned in a gem. 6IP, 0ER, 4H, 2BB, 2K. He was in line for the W, as the Dash led 3-0 into the 9th, but Eric Adler couldn't hold the lead in a rare bad outing. The bats pick him up by adding on 2 in extras, and given a second chance in the 10th, he holds on. Dash win 5-4. Willits was 2-4 with a RBI in his WS debut. Baldwin was 1-4 with a RBI and run scored. Dash offensive mainstays Burke (1-4, 2BB, 1R) and Chapelli (2-4, 1BB, 1R) also had good nights.
