Yeah this is the dillemma. I think a lot of Sox fans are talking about a re-sign because they know Crochet has little value on the trade market due to lack of track record. They're not going to be able to trade him until he's in his walk year and that's if everything goes perfectly and his injuries are behind him.

Yeah I think you have to think of signing Crochet to a team friendly deal. An extension that gives him security while also having him reach FA at 30 or 31 makes sense. Also Hahn/KW are idiots not starting him. But who knows how much he would have pitched due to the injuries.

He reminds me a lot of Moncada when he first came up. Idk if his minor league patience will translate. It's only been about 6 weeks but I think the Sox (and us fans) need to pump the brakes about calling him up this year. Maybe ASB 2025 because he looks nowhere near ready right now. I'm not even saying he sucks, as there's a reason why all publications are high on him. I want to see some sustained success in the upper minors before calling him up.

You can't hit that poorly and have value unless you're walking and hitting HR like Dunn and Gallo. even Gallo has played his way out of the league.
