  1. I think that MLB hitters are so used to velocity now that that's no longer the case. Everyone throws hard, when 90 mph comes up there it looks like a beach ball.
  2. It's about both. Hitters can crush a 90 mph fastball anywhere in the zone. I've seen Crochet throw a perfectly placed 98 mph fastball and it still went out of the park. These are MLB hitters. They can hit any strike out of the park.
  3. If he's sitting 92-93 I think it can work, at 90-91 I'm not sure and leaning toward no.
  4. I would argue that despite their age, Crochet and Robert are in the exact same situation. They're not winning anything until after they're free. A 25 win improvement still only gets the Sox to 90 losses, and that's WITH Crochet/Fedde/Robert on the team.
  5. How much does Robert's slow start in average/obp affect his value? Slug/OPS+ is still there. EDIT: holy s%*# he has a .161 babip. That's insanely low.
  6. Danks was 5 years.
  7. LMFAO They aren't getting s%*# for Kopech
  8. well, Kopech is coming in for the 9th.....
  9. Yep, he's getting traded. And I'd imagine whoever trades for him views him as a 2-2.5 year rental. They will pitch him to the ground and then whoever signs him as a FA, he's their problem.
  10. I think he gets traded in the offseason because I don't think a contending team would trust him to throw 200+ innings including the postseason. He will be ready for it next year after the jump this year.
  11. Too bad he's going to be doing it for another team.
  12. I'd imagine that they're pushing him because teams want to see if he can throw 100 pitches consistently.
  13. Nothing much to write home about offensively. Eder k'd 10. I didn't know he threw a curveball but it was working really well tonight.
  14. Eder had a rocky 2nd, walked the 1st 2 batters, allowed a single. Struck out 2 and got a pop out to allow no runs. 93-95 with the heater
  15. watching the Barons tonight. Will give my impressions of Eder, Quero, Veras and Baldwin
  16. Can we have nice things and one of those nice things is Montgomery going on a hot streak? k thx bye
  17. Getz is a clown. His evaluations of Fletcher and DeLoach give me no confidence he knows what makes a good hitter.
  18. No. Actually those numbers make me wonder if he's getting bit by the babip bug.
  19. What would Vaughn have to do the rest of the season for you to want to tender him a contract?
