I want to know why pitchers at every level of the organization are losing velocity. Pallette was mid-90s last time he pitched in college. (yes I know TJS but pitchers don't usually lose velo after that) If Crochet comes back throwing 96 mph or something, then I will be at a loss on this one.

Unpopular opinion: Burger should be the everyday 1B. They need his power.

For what? A salary dump? There are so many guys on this team that are just salary dumps at this point. They're going to have to trade Cease and Robert if they want anything back and Cease's velocity drop this year is concerning.

They were all very good prospects but they're below average major leaguers.

Things are already going very off the rails. They're 5 GB 2 weeks into the season with a brutal schedule coming up.

They should trade those guys too. It's time to dismantle this team. The fact that you don't want the Sox to trade Cease and Robert is exactly why they should trade them. It's the Sale/Quintana argument redux.

It's the 2016 conundrum all over again. Cease would have 2.5 years of control to Sale's 3, and Robert is signed to a cheap deal as well. It's time to tear it down and start over. Hahn should get fired, but he won't so we just have to hope he learned from his mis-evaluations from 2016-17

Nobody is taking that contract without the Sox eating half. He gets healthy and has a good year and you might be able to get someone to take him for 1/15 in '24 which would be eating $14M, which includes his $5M buyout at the end of the season. Moncada is a good player when healthy, he's just not worth $24-29M per year. This year at $17M is probably fair for him.
