According to Rogers, 8 million dollars to spend
*cough*Albert Belle*cough*, my point being you never really know what he's up to...

According to Rogers, 8 million dollars to spend
If they were serious about winning they would atleast bring the payroll to about 60 mil, giving us about another 17-19 mil to throw around. Look at the Angels they put another 15 mil into there payroll and won a WS, the Sox's could be that team if JR wasn't a cheap bastard.

According to Rogers, 8 million dollars to spend
QUOTE from the article: All he says is JR has money to spend, not that he will spend it .
-
dodgers for sale?????????
No one in there right mind would buy the Dodgers, which means they'll need to find a really stupid person, wheres JR when you need him.

Article: Colon Would Provide Sox with Final Pie
No, it real does say pie
-
Numbers Support Sox
If the Red Sox's get either Colon or Vazquez the Yankees would do anything to improve there staff, they might go out and sign another starter, so dont hold out on getting a Yankee pitcher.
-
Chandler's Really Growing
Yeah, but he still needs to get better at man to man D, all he's doing right now is fouling.
-
Mark Buerhle
Also people fotget he was coming back form a injury last season, and his velocity was way down.

Which 3rd Tier Starter Will The Sox Sign
If we just give up Carlos then i'd do the deal, but i still think the 'Spos would want more and if we have a choice between Colon or Vazquez, i'd rather have Vazquez.
-
Which 3rd Tier Starter Will The Sox Sign
The more i think about it the less i like the idea of trading for Colon. We will give up something good for him (ie. Joe Crede or Carlos Lee + cash) and we'll only have him for one season. I rather see KW get 2 veteran starters and keep who ever he would trade, then have Colon for one season.

Which 3rd Tier Starter Will The Sox Sign
Yeah, i think its gonna be one of those two. It just depends which one is cheaper. If KW was smart he'd get two veteran starters. That would give us 5 guys who should pitch at least 190 innings and with our (should be good) bullpen we would win a lot of games.
-
Numbers Support Sox
Its a great article, we wont get anyone better then Suppan, but he makes a good point that we should have at least 3 guys who will eat up innings giving us a half-way decnet rotation.

2003 Sox Wins
Actually last year, the Sox's were doing all the KC/DET ass kicking:D
-
2003 Sox Wins
KC wont be all that bad, DET and the Tribe will be way worse.
-
2003 Sox Wins
5 starters in double digit wins, that's kinda hard to do.
-
watch out for clee next year
CLee will have a huge season, then everyone will be b****ing after he signs with the Red Sox's or some other rich team.
-
A little something on Josh Stewart
Top Prospect alert - Josh Stewart
-
Eddie Jones
Eddie Jones makes like 10.5 mil. For a deal to happen the Bulls would need to give up E-Rob(5.5 mil), Fizer(2 mil), and JC(2 mil). No way in hell is he worth those three players.
-
Jon Lieber
Lieber wont be able to pitch until after the All-Star break at the earliest.
-
Yankees pitchers: Who will they move?
No, they would send us cash along with the player.
-
Yankees pitchers: Who will they move?
Weaver would look nice on our staff. It wont happen though:(
-
Rocky Biddle should be a starting pitcher...
Last season he had a 3.48 ERA(.244 .OBA, 7 Starts) as a starter. He has a great fastball and a good curve. I think he could be a good pitcher if he gets the chance. What do you all think?
-
Yankees payroll stands at 140 million
I thought you pay .5 mil for every 1 mil your over the cap. So if the Yankees have a 150 million dollar payroll, they only pay 16.5 million in fines.
-
What luxury tax? Yankees sign Contreras
Lets just hope this comes back and bites them on there ass.
