  1. I think it’s just poor timing unfortunately. If Houser was with the Sox to start the season and did this from the beginning, perhaps that would’ve been enough starts to convince teams that this is the guy he truly is, at least for this season. Who knows though, maybe there will be some competing offers for the cheap guy who isn’t earning jack this year.
  2. They definitely need a starter and a 3B. It will be interesting to see how balls out they go on their needs or if they just grab a cheaper guy like Houser. I think they try to aim higher first, but he’s a fallback option.
  3. For Sheets! We still need a 1B.
  4. Exactly. I didn’t choose to give Vaughn $6 million bucks and non-tender Sheets. WestEddy’s favorite GM did, so why isn’t he ripping Getz instead of me?
  5. And what did Sheets ever do with the Sox? He’s having a magical season with the Padres that I doubt he is able to repeat. Also, the Padres signed Sheets to a minor league deal with an invite to Spring Training, so quite honestly he did barely have any perceived value at the time. No more than a Brandon Drury. You’re the guy who prematurely proclaimed that Vargas was a 3 WAR player and Getz won the Fedde trade as a result, so I hope you understand me taking your opinion of any player with the appropriate grain of salt.
  6. Mully and Haugh joked on The Score this morning that the Sox were trying to sabotage the Cubs’ 3B trade target.
  7. Sure, maybe the type of “bad”. Frazier is a step above guys like Rojas and especially Lopez. And only our wizard GM who likes terrible slappy infielders like himself as a player traded anything of value for Little Nicky. Getz was trying to appease his boss who announced to Sox fans that he lusted for a lineup of nine David Ecksteins.
  8. Perhaps a return like the Eloy to Orioles trade last year — someone like Trey McGough, a dude that retires from baseball the following year. 💩
  9. I don’t see the comparison or similar expectations being appropriate. While the money isn’t a huge deal, Rojas is still earning $3.5 million — $2 million more than Frazier at $1.525 million. Also, while Frazier isn’t having a great season he is hitting light years better than awful Rojas this year. I would be surprised if any team out there even wants Rojas unless they are desperate for a backup infielder. I doubt we even get someone as completely mediocre as 28-year old Devanney for Rojas.
  10. That wasn’t my point at all and I already responded to @PaleAleSox who had the same comment prior to yours. @Bob Sacamano gets it…
  11. PCA is at 5.2 bWAR. Kyle Tucker is at 4.0 bWAR. Pretty crazy that Tucker was their big acquisition in the offseason and PCA is their true MVP. Meanwhile, we get to be excited about Getz winning the Fedde trade because Vargas has a 0.9 bWAR. Putrid. 🤮
  12. No, not at all. I am talking about when Vaughn was with the Sox, just like the other three guys.
  13. So does anyone know why Ryan Fuller couldn’t fix Vaughn, Robert, Benintendi, Vargas, et al.? Asking for a friend.
  14. The HR Derby has a blatant bias against old and dumb people.
  15. https://nypost.com/2025/07/13/sports/white-sox-receiving-heavy-interest-in-luis-robert-jr-ahead-of-trade-deadline/ “According to Jon Heyman of the New York Post, at least eight teams have reached out to the White Sox to express interest in acquiring Luis Robert Jr. The dynamic 27-year-old outfielder is having a brutal season offensively, slashing .189/.275/.322 with nine homers, 34 RBI and 22 stolen bases. The common assumption though is that he just needs a change of scenery. Heyman didn’t note any of the teams that have checked in, but expect it to be a who’s who of contenders in both leagues.”
  16. I’m pretty sure that flipping Booser was the entire point of acquiring him, but he performed poorly this far. He walks too many batters. And team control and low mileage on his arm would be great for him being a long-term piece but unfortunately he’s 33, not 27 or so.
  17. Prepare for some reruns…
  18. How is it a genuine line of discussion? There is no comparison between the two GMs. One of them has had success and it isn’t Getz. Google AI will answer your ridiculous comparison for you… “AI Overview David Stearns, now the New York Mets' president of baseball operations, has a strong track record of success in MLB. He is known for his ability to build competitive teams, especially with the Milwaukee Brewers, where he oversaw a period of significant improvement and playoff appearances. Here's a breakdown of his achievements: Milwaukee Brewers (2015-2022): Youngest General Manager: Stearns became the youngest general manager in MLB history when he took over the Brewers in 2015 at the age of 30. Playoff Appearances: Under Stearns, the Brewers reached the playoffs five times between 2017 and 2021, a franchise record. Division Titles: They won the NL Central Division in 2018 and 2021. NLCS Appearance: In 2018, the Brewers made it to the National League Championship Series (NLCS). Organizational Improvements: Stearns focused on developing talent within the Brewers' farm system and made strategic acquisitions to improve the team's competitiveness. Key Moves and Strategies: Trades: Stearns was known for making impactful trades, such as acquiring Christian Yelich and Lorenzo Cain, who played crucial roles in the Brewers' success. Prospect Development: He emphasized developing top-end pitching and building a strong farm system. Strategic Acquisitions: Stearns was adept at acquiring players who could contribute both in the present and the future. New York Mets (Current): Transition to President of Baseball Operations: Stearns transitioned to the Mets in 2023, taking on the role of president of baseball operations. Focus on Building a Winner: He is tasked with building the Mets into a consistent winner, drawing on his experience with the Brewers. Overall: David Stearns' career demonstrates a strong ability to build successful baseball organizations, particularly through player development, strategic acquisitions, and a focus on long-term competitiveness.”
  19. Seems like he wants to ensure he makes every last dime he can off the Sox, but also guarantee that the team is sold per his requirements before his untimely death. I love how Ishbia can pay down debts and invest in the team early, even though he isn’t even the controlling owner yet. If Jerry was born in the 19th century, he would probably be selling snake oil.
  20. It’s literally explained in detail in the second and third paragraphs of the press release. https://www.mlb.com/amp/press-release/press-release-white-sox-announce-long-term-ownership-investment-agreement.html
  21. When you for whatever strange reason want to carry water for the failure of an owner for 44+ years and instead want to blame the new guy who hasn’t even taken over yet, you simply make up stuff I guess… https://www.mlb.com/amp/press-release/press-release-white-sox-announce-long-term-ownership-investment-agreement.html
  22. I was referring to the Sox, not the Bulls, even though they haven’t been much better. And if you think one WS in 44 years is a good thing, well, I don’t know what to say to you. You managed to name two positive Sox events in 44 years of Jerry’s ownership of the team. And bad timing? The reunion is for something that happened 20 years ago. 🤣
  23. It’s very strange how you cast more blame at the feet of the new Sox owner before he has even officially taken over than you have at Jerry who has failed for the majority of 40+ years.
