  1. This Rich guy probably never makes the majors. Even with Sosa’s lack of any patience at the plate, he has more upside than Rich. A smart team would have eaten Benintendi’s contract, converted Sosa to LF, and played him primarily in LF and at DH.
  2. The entire lineup has been, and Getz builds the lineup.
  3. Yet another example of a poor scouting job of a hitter by the Sox.
  4. Fun. Another tiny prospect. Hasn’t worked and doesn’t work. But that won’t stop Getz’s obsession with little grinders. EDIT: Baseball Cube has him listed at 5’10”, 175 so that’s a bit more promising. https://www.thebaseballcube.com/content/player/362076/
  5. Sandlin, yes. We’ll have to see if he was worth taking on Hicks and $16 million. Right now, Hicks looks like an overpaid reliever, even with Boston chipping in $8 million.
  6. The Sox signed Dominguez for the very purpose of trading him if he pitches well. The last few years have shown that good closers have a lot of value at the trade deadline.
  7. Exactly. @vilehoopster seems to think that a free agent can’t be signed until a player is traded away to free up money. That’s not how real organizations that aren’t a joke function.
  8. You are presenting things that haven’t even happened yet, and may not ever happen. You’re only presenting made-up guesses of the future because when all facts are considered, your argument falls apart. If Acuna keeps hitting like he has been, he’ll be on the bench.
  9. I could live with the defensive lapses as he has played more infield in his career and is still learning CF. But if he can’t hit better than he has thus far with the Mets and Sox, he’s a utility guy at best like a Leury Garcia.
  10. Famgraphs says Cannon still has one option remaining, if it’s up-to-date, but I’m not sure. I’m assuming they put him on the IL regardless.
  11. Well, it’s still early but it’s looking like they won this trade.
  12. Stop looking at two year old scouting reports and accepting the player the other team obviously wants to dump.
  13. Acuna still swinging that wet newspaper…
  14. Right hip irritation for Cannon. Also known as “loser’s limp.”
  15. Acuna doing it too. Looks like they are cyclists that don’t want to get hit by a car.
  16. I just meant Hicks himself. He doesn’t look good. Not worth $16 million over two seasons either. Hopefully Sandlin makes it worth it.
  17. White Sox got back $8 million from Boston in the trade. Makes it a little less ugly. So the White Sox will pay Hicks a total of $16 million for two years.
  18. I don’t think the runner saw it or knew it. The dugout was yelling for it.
  19. That he is. He just got away with a balk as well.
  20. Definitely would have been close and risky.
