He panned out finally but he for sure sucked for his first full season of at bats with the Sox. Does Vargas improving at age 24 mean that 33 year old Castillo is going to improve next year in his age 34 season? Does that also mean that 28 year old Brenton Doyle is going to improve after 2 awful seasons in a row? Your comparisons and arguments don’t even make sense.

WE literally said that he would have crapped all over Getz if he had traded for Jo Adell. Meanwhile, Adell would have been a better acquisition than either Castillo or Doyle, while potentially retaining Boston Smith and Mason Adams. @fathom has also posted numerous times how bad the Sox are against left handed pitching. Instead, Getz acquired a buster in Doyle that hasn’t been good for 2 year at Coors and the 38-year old rotting corpse of Tommy Pham… But once again, Adell would have been a horrible acquisition.
