Acuna, the weak ground ball machine. What a buster…

Antonacci’s dad assessing exit velocity and wind on his son’s first hit.

I’m pretty confident a terrible team just like the Sox would claim him as a last man on the bench utility guy. He’s still earning nothing, has speed, and can play multiple positions. He just can’t hit a lick.

As the last man on a roster, I’m sure some bad team would claim him. Problem is Getz thinks he’s a starter.

Schultz gets the call, Antonacci up too!
There has to be some sort of threshold where Getz starts receiving some blame, even from his staunchest of supporters. I realize it’s a rebuild and that there have been some injuries (Hays, Baldwin, Pereira just returned), but at what point does Getz get some heat even from his supporters when he has put together an offense that is ranked last in the MLB after three offseasons of making moves?

The VWL power is also coming soon.

They seem to like Peters’ defense more and are willing to play him in CF. Harris only played the corners. Peters also had a longer stretch of decent at bats.

Getz is slowly learning. Dominic Fletcher lasted a lot longer in the Sox organization than Curtis Mead. However, there still is the embarrassment factor of not wanting to give up on a player so soon and looking bad. Acuna has no options remaining so he would have to clear waivers to be removed from the 40-man roster and outrighted to Charlotte.

Would be nice, but too many other options — Dustin Harris, Tanner Murray.

4/14 Sox vs. Rays 6:40PM
It’s probably too early for Getz to admit his mistake in the trade by cutting Acuna loose this soon. Mead was probably the guy he cut bait on soonest and that took half a season, offseason, and ST.

Fire Chris Getz
https://www.mlb.com/news/chris-getz-addresses-luisangel-acuna-switch-hitter-mistake “He had a really good winter ball [season],” said Getz, giving further detail on Acuña on Monday. “He is making some adjustments to his swing this offseason to get more of a line drive, ball in the air, ball off the ground swing plane. And he’s made a lot of strides doing that. So look forward to seeing how that plays out.”

Fire Chris Getz
That power surge in the Venezuelan Winter League was obviously a result of bad pitching and meatballs. The Mets front office is probably still laughing at Getz about this trade.

Anyone else think it’s a bit funny that CHSN’s custom triangular desk isn’t even flush at the edges? Has been bothering me from the start of the channel.
