Free Tim Elko (Back in Jail)
I think it’s funnier when the CHSN team acts like he’s a true prospect when he’s a few months younger than Vaughn. Yes, he should be called up because Vaughn is so terrible but the hype for a 26 year old “prospect” is a bit funny.

Colson Montgomery to AZ Complex
Halladay had already made the majors with a season of success under his belt. That instance would be more like the equivalent of the Sox sending Vaughn to the minors to work on his swing.

I was going to say — has this ever happened before?

Except the Sox are seemingly living in denial regarding Vaughn. Not the exact same thing but still bad.

If they truly think this, they are more delusional than I thought. It’s time to accept the fact that you either drafted a bust or failed in his development. He won’t be on the team next season. He’s a sunk cost at $5.85 million for this season.

I don’t care about the Orioles, but the only thing the Sox are showing is a flat line on their EKG.

He does? He is hitting .192 with a .562 OPS.

That could just be false equivalence. How has he done fixing Robert, Vaughn, and Vargas?

The Orioles offense started tanking in the second half of last year when he was still there.

The guy the Orioles fired will fix him.

Nah, I’m good. I don’t need to cool down. Your response was vague. Thanks for clarifying.

New City-Connects: Bulls / Sox collab
Can you custom order a “RENISDORF” jersey to express your displeasure for Jerry as the owner of two Chicago teams, since these look like a combination of Sox and Bulls?

Actual obit in today's Tribune
Except for one self-appointed best Sox fan ever that loves Jerry and everything he has done with this organization.

Rojas has fractured toe...
Well, that’s probably accurate. It doesn’t make Romy a bum. It just makes him a bit too old for what is looking like will be a 5+ year Sox rebuild. I doubt Romy will still be a productive player into his mid 30’s. Unless you think the Sox rebuild will be shorter?

Free Tim Elko (Back in Jail)
The disaster was drafting Madrigal in the first place.
-
Free Tim Elko (Back in Jail)
I think the Sox realized they completely botched the scouting side of Madrigal and actually sold him high while they still could, moreso than clubhouse issues.

Rojas has fractured toe...
The Sox and Pirates are so bad, they could roster numerous failed prospects, regardless of options, and try to fix them during the season. Jones is already 27. He is no different than DeLoach, Fletcher, etc., an aging career minor leaguer and soon to be DFA material. The fact that Getz was willing to start the season with two Rule 5 players and also add a third shows what his priorities are. Even if Workman doesn’t gain the 3 options, it won’t matter much. He’s an aging middling prospect that needs to pan out sooner rather than later. Afterall, how excited are we about the several years of control Getz has over his last group of failed acquisitions like DeLoach and Fletcher? Years of control over crappy players doesn’t mean much. The more important and sad part of the story regarding Workman is that he could actually get real playing time at SS because our top SS prospect looks like he’s absolutely flopped in his second season at AAA. He’s the guy that truly needed to be fixed.

Congrats to Getz for acquiring a CF in Greg Jones for the minors that can play in case Robert is traded and Taylor is injured. And he gets a B+ for this move? A dude that would likely strikeout in 50+ percent of his at bats in the majors in a full-time role. If the Sox ever need a CF that badly, there is always some bum available like Travis Jankowski who was probably traded to the Rays for a dollar.
