  1. At first I thought that was supposed to be JR, which would have been funny enough. But when I realized it was just an apathetic old geezer Sox fan, I laughed my ass off. Is this just a Photoshop or can you really buy this thing?
  2. The Gregory Santos trade hasn’t aged very well either.
  3. He’s the guy that mops up the back room at Family Video.
  4. I realize it’s a dying industry and no offense to ChiSoxMike as he may have good credentials that I am unaware of, but even the Sun Times is going to want someone with experience rather than hire anyone off the street with a Twitter account with posts about the Sox. Even though newspapers as a form of media are almost dead, they still have an online presence, albeit a weak one. And even with experience, I bet the pay is crap. Fegan looks like a young dude, but I can only imagine the low pay he is working for. But I’m sure he loves what he does.
  5. We just have to hope his back issues don’t screw over his career faster than they did to Crede. Crede at least played until 31 but his career was still cut short. I just hope he can stay healthy enough to play somewhere, even if that’s 3B instead of SS.
  6. They were apparently very reclusive and they liked their privacy but I can’t believe they didn’t have paid caretakers/assistants. Hackman’s wife would take care of him and her dogs. She would pick up special dog food from the vet. Just seems a bit ridiculous when your net worth is $83.8 million.
  7. Would be nice if it was actually one of our own homegrown prospects.
  8. Brother Rice beats St. Patrick, advances to first state title game in school history
  9. Mediocre WR signing to compete with Tyler Scott for the #3 WR spot.
  10. No, and I don’t believe I ever said that. But I do know that after Getz gave up a player for Horn, he was only ever traded for cash considerations after that.
  11. The great Chris Getz originally started the Bailey Horn gangbang by trading a 2nd round draft pick for him last year.
  12. 37 years and the cheap Sun Times offered their only Sox beat reporter a buyout? How much could his salary even have been? Maybe they can replace him with an 18 year old kid with his own personal iPhone and a free ChatGPT account?
  13. Honestly, I just hope he can get over the back issues for good, even if when healthy he’s best suited for 3B instead of SS. With the back issues, we don’t get a decent SS OR 3B.
  14. Could be. Also could be his back issues causing him to struggle with hitting and defending. Either reason is bad because it doesn’t seem like his back issues are going away.
  15. The article definitely didn’t say that, if this is the article Tray was referring to: “'Bummed' Montgomery looking ahead after being optioned to Triple-A”
  16. He is but he’s still not a good hitter. Rojas is only good because of his glove. His bat isnnit as awful as Lopez’s but it is still bad. He mainly has more power, but compared to Lopez that doesn’t mean much. Lopez: .248 / .312 / .314 / .626 Rojas: .247 / .323 / .362 / .685
  17. A chronic bad back could screw up both his bat and defense.
  18. Sheets is a terrible player and a few homers in Spring Training isn’t changing my mind. But please come back later this season and remind me about how right you were when he has garbage numbers and gets DFA by the Padres. Just to remind you, Sheets has a career line of: .230 / .295 / .385 / .680 Sour grapes? I didn’t want the guy last year and I am glad Getz finally got a clue and non-tendered him. He’s a DH/1B that can’t hit well enough to play either spot, yet he was masquerading as a RF for the Sox which was even worse. If you think he’s a good player, you aren’t living in reality. He has done nothing to indicate he is a good player and has declined every year since his rookie season, meaning that the massive holes in his swing were likely figured out. I’m sure the Sox will forever miss that -2.7 career bWAR.
  19. Thorpe was #85 on MLB‘s top 100 list at the time of the Cease trade. I just don’t think you are going to get that much for Robert. De Paula alone might be asking too much unless the Sox wait until the trade deadline and Robert plays like an MVP in the first half.
