  1. I think the starting OF for 2026 is already set — Benintendi, Robert, and Tauchman. They will probably sign a right-handed platoon/fourth outfielder again but he will be much worse and much cheaper than Laureano, more like Austin Slater 2.0. They will probably be banking on B. Montgomery coming up later next season. The big sell job on the Sox spending money this upcoming offseason will be Getz giving Robert his $20 million dollar option. But I doubt there will be a single free agent signing that is more than Martin Perez money.
  2. Some posters here thought they would spend a bit last season (at least more than they ended up spending) because Eloy and Moncada would be finally coming off the payroll. Also, even more posters expected them to spend more next offseason since the payroll will be even lower. I think that money is mostly going to Robert in hopes that they can finally get something for him, along with a few veteran scrubs.
  3. This paragraph was worse, IMO. 20 more wins than a team that set a record for losses? While it may end up becoming true, talk about some hollow praise. As if potentially losing 100+ games again is some sort of accomplishment. This is some big time fluff by the Doobster…
  4. But the Sox payroll is going to be so low that I heard they would be spending money!!!!!1!! Nope, it’s staying in Jerry’s pockets. At most, it will be more washed-up mediocre veterans, as usual. Quite simply, Jerry has no reason to spend for the next few years until he is no longer the owner.
  5. You don’t want to miss out. I bet they are selling like hotcakes!
  6. That is already the annual strategy.
  7. 9 games left. They have to go 6-3 to avoid another 100 loss season. 3 games vs Padres at home 3 games @ Yankees 3 games @ Nationals
  8. The problem is that neither will be a part of the next competitive Sox team. Tauchman will be around for next season and Benintendi will be around for the next two seasons.
  9. That’s more than likely a wrap on Martin Perez. Merkin was quick to publish the article linked below. $6.5 million ($5 million salary plus $1.5 million buyout) for 10 starts and 56 innings pitched. “Pérez exits finale against O's with apparent injury“
  10. Vargas just got his OPS back under .700 on the season — .699 to be precise.
  11. Ultimately, Getz had to agree and sign off on the trade. Therefore, he should not be immune from criticism.
  12. You would think that Getz would hit on one of the outfielders he acquired by pure luck. Nope, all scrubs so far. Hopefully, Montgomery is that dude…
  13. Close enough. Yep. Wish I could find the Farmer call. 🤣
  14. He will be worth whatever they pay him but it’s obvious that he can’t hold up as a full-time starter. And when he tries to, his nagging injuries neuter his performance.
  15. Bonus points if you can remember who made that quote originally and about what player…
  16. Yep, that $10 million dollar option is going back in Jerry’s swimming pool…
  17. Beavers alone would have been better than the pile of crap Getz got back in the Cease trade.
  18. Fire them all, from both teams.
  19. Dude has a sexy 6.89 ERA to go along with his 1.89 WHIP… Getz FTW!!!
  20. Lenin and Danger Will, the rally killaz.
  21. Yikes. Valiant comeback effort but your two best hitters strikeout in the clutch situation. Sox have to finish their last 10 games with a 6-4 record to avoid another 100 loss season.
  22. Vargas trying hard to finish the season with an OPS under .700.
  23. Were the Orioles ever offering Beavers for Cease at some point?
  24. Sosa and Baldwin are the dynamic duo of defense.
