I can’t b**** about Tony Phillips. I absolutely loved that nose candy fuckstick when he was with the Sox. Go back and look at the stats that he put up in 1996 at age fucking 37. The booger sugar was empowering him. His stance and swing were both unique and beautiful. Unfortunately, the booger sugar eventually caught up with him and he died at age 56. RIP. But yeah, he’s still one of my favorite Sox players from the 90’s era. Laugh if you wish, but Tony Phillips was the s%*#. .374 career OBP. 51 career WAR. He was a new age player for baseball at that time and an absolute wet dream for the stat nerds of today. Minus the booger sugar of course, but that was all a part of his charm, outside of the frequent ejections. 😂

He let his team lose 100+ games in a row for 3 straight seasons, sucked enough to trade away their best MLB players for top prospects, not spend any money, and for the prospects to finally start panning out. Jerry shouldn’t get credit for that s%*#. His strategy is basically to not spend any money, suck, get top prospects, and hope they pan out in an almost perpetual rebuild. I’ll take the devil we don’t know in Ishbia over the one we most assuredly know.

The fact that he went from being ****** for centuries and then started swearing back at everyone like a modern man was absolutely hilarious. And how he knew he had to *** to end the ***** but he changed his mind once he realized that the modern world was awesome compared to his previous life? 😂 Also, the fact that they both replayed and mocked every classic horror movie of all time (The Shining, The Fog, Jaws, Psycho, Halloween, etc.) in a comedic way was amazing. Easily the best series of the year. It should win awards.

Surprised some are upset about this. You can have success in the minors walking 5 guys per 9 innings but that crap isn’t going to fly in the majors. Not sure what Getz’s obsession is with stocking catchers, but I doubt Peoples is any sort of loss. He’s a lottery ticket for a reliever that couldn’t lower his walk rate and was going to be gone soon either way.

I think the Cubs recent trade is a good example of a decent starter addition. They traded their #13 prospect to the Mets for David Peterson, but he is a 23 year old 1B playing in Single A. They knew Peterson was a groundball pitcher and would do much better with a good infield defense, unlike the Mets’. He has already had a nice start for the Cubs tonight. This should be the type of trade Getz looks to make.
