I thought he just converted you to yet another Cubs fan troll, which he has absolutely no problem with of course.

If he resigning from his position? That would be a great move. -
Did they entice you back yet with Getz’s past two offseasons and a projected $67 million dollar payroll?

The Sox signed their RF platoon of Tauchman and Slater for a combined $3.7 million. I think I’d rather have Hays alone for $5 million, as I think he would have been a better flip candidate.

Does the NBA even care enough about the Bulls these days to fix the draft in their favor again like the Derrick Rose draft lottery? 1.7% chance… -

This is the impressive thing to me. Think about how good he is in his current puffier version of himself. Imagine if he did get in really good NBA shape? -
Haha, I’d look for new employment immediately. Losing commission and getting told to F off on a daily basis would not be a fun or lucrative job.

McDaniel/ESPN rank Sox system #2 behind LAD

I am not a huge fan of Lux like Harold. While he is a pretty good player, the two years of control don’t make any sense for the Sox. But it might take Vargas a 15-year ironman career to accumulate 7.6 bWAR like Lux. -

Joe Cowley (I know he sucks) is reporting that two potential Vuc trades have fallen through and it’s possible that he isn’t traded by Thursday’s deadline. -

Where’s the hyperbole? Unless you are positive that Vargas is a better player than what he has been for his entire career thus far, Lux has at least been with 3.0 bWAR in a 162 game average for a total of 7.6 bWAR in his career. Meanwhile, Vargas was worth -0.8 bWAR last season and is at -1.3 bWAR in his career. Five more years of control over a garbage player isn’t worth more than two years of an above average one. -
The Cubs are responsible for $2.8 million of Brasier’s $4.5 million deal, so the Dodgers included $1.7 million.

If Getz was ever stupid enough to be interested in 2 years of Lux in any deals involving Fedde or Crochet, the Sox have no hope. Of course, hilariously, Lux may have been a better return for Fedde than Vargas. That’s how bad it looks like Getz blew that trade. -
White Sox asking for "top prospects" for Robert
WhiteSox2023 replied to southsider2k5's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Eh, considering the player Robert is supposed to be, should we really be impressed that a team offered a #92 rated MLB prospect for Robert with the Sox paying down some of his contract? That’s like Fedde value. -
Biggest villains in sports today…Dodgers, Chiefs, etc.
WhiteSox2023 replied to caulfield12's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Quite frankly, that post is absolute nonsense. Jerry wishes his team could be as loved locally as much as Notre Dame. I am not even an ND fan, but I do deal in reality. -
They just acquired reliever Ryan Brasier from the Dodgers for a PTBNL or cash considerations.

White Sox asking for "top prospects" for Robert
WhiteSox2023 replied to southsider2k5's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I can still totally see the Reds refusing to meet the White Sox demands as far as prospects and the inclusion of cash (or lack thereof) goes. Yes, adding Robert could make the Reds a much better team but it’s not like they can’t currently field a starting outfield — TJ Friedl in CF with Austin Hays and Jake Fraley in the corners. -

Any trade that doesn’t happen is obviously never a “done deal” but why do you refuse to believe that there is any truth to this specific trade offer when a Twins beat reporter reported it and there were also other media reports saying that the Sox refused to deal Fedde within their own division? Do you also believe there is no truth to the Phillies offering Alec Bohm and Justin Crawford for Crochet, or is that a “real” trade rumor because the Sox got back more from the Red Sox? I am guessing if the rumored Twins offer for Fedde was far worse of a return than Vargas, you would be using it as a defense of the Vargas trade. -

Unlimited money? All of the Twins’ 5 top prospects? Once again, your hyperbole knows no bounds. Even had the White Sox agreed to pick up the full amount of Fedde’s remaining contract for the rest of 2024 and all of 2025 at the trade deadline, it would have cost the Sox $10 million. And it’s doubtful that the Twins were asking the Sox to pick up the full amount of Fedde’s remaining contract, considering Fedde’s value based on both his performance and cheap contract. Once again, the rumored trade mentioned one guy — Luke Keaschall — not all five of the Twins’ top 5 prospects. At the time Getz stupidly traded Fedde for Vargas instead, Keaschall was the Twins #5 prospect. He is now their #3 prospect and ranked the #61 prospect in MLB’s top 100. I have no idea why you continue to act like this rumored trade is completely ridiculous considering it was reported by a Twins beat reporter. It’s not like Keaschall was one of the Twins’ top 3 prospects at the time and considered untouchable. You are clowning this rumored trade offer and claiming it is baseless because you don’t want it to be true, in your never-ending super-human efforts to defend and excuse Getz’s actions. -
White Sox asking for "top prospects" for Robert
WhiteSox2023 replied to southsider2k5's topic in Pale Hose Talk
That’s definitely the pessimistic view, but it’s well-earned when it comes to Robert. I see no way the Sox have that kind of risk appetite with Robert after what they have already see with his injury-prone buddies in Moncada and Eloy. They traded Cease after a “down” season rather have roll the dice, so I see no way they will take a chance entering the season with Robert. In true cheap ass Jerry fashion, the Sox will end up accepting a lesser return while eating little or no money for Robert. And the usual suspect posters will try to defend the move. -

WhiteSox2023 replied to southsider2k5's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Yep, cuz you know if Robert has another mediocre-to-bad season, Jerry isn’t going to approve Robert’s $20 million dollar team option. No way, no how. He’s getting his $2 million dollar payout. -
Actually, he’s a #2, as in dung.

White Sox asking for "top prospects" for Robert
WhiteSox2023 replied to southsider2k5's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Yep, and MLB has him at #92 on there top 100 list. Arroyo’s value is down because he missed the entire 2024 season after having surgery to repair a torn labrum in his left shoulder. So realistically, the Sox would need to get back another good prospect along with Arroyo to trade Robert (and eat some of his money — haha!). -
White Sox asking for "top prospects" for Robert
WhiteSox2023 replied to southsider2k5's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Sure, their two top pitching prospects, but they won’t be trading either for Robert. And the Sox need a position prospect headliner anyways. But I assume that is what you are getting at. -

And keep in mind, Wittenmeyer covered the Cubs beat for years here in Chicago for both the Sun Times and NBC Sports Chicago, so he should be very aware of Jerry’s cheapness. What a clown. -
White Sox asking for "top prospects" for Robert
WhiteSox2023 replied to southsider2k5's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Yeah, I just listened to the podcast and now I think Wittenmeyer is a dope. He mentioned how the Sox could pay Robert’s entire contract — well, sure they could Gordon, but look at who the owner is. Not.gonna.happen. Also, Wittenmeyer said that this would only be a one-year proposition for the Reds to acquire Robert so they aren’t going to want to pay too much. Huh? Does he not know about Robert’s team options for 2026 and 2027? This report lost all value once you realize Wittenmeyer is clueless.
