  1. There’s always a risk to the idea of acquiring another flippable asset rather than just getting an additional prospect. Injury and poor performance from the supposedly flippable asset. We got both from Wilson.
  2. Point taken. 🤣 https://chicago.suntimes.com/white-sox/2022/3/23/22993020/lucas-giolito-voices-frustration-over-arbitration-with-white-sox
  3. No worries, the main part of the Sox RF platoon is 34.
  4. It will be interesting to see what the Padres get for Cease with a year less of control if they decide to deal him this offseason.
  5. You excited about this move? The sad thing is he might be able to outproduce the Sox RF platoon.
  6. I said last week that the Santos trade looks pretty bad now. Watching Berroa walk the world will not be fun.
  7. I’m pretty sure he meant that the Padres will get more for Cease trading him away than what Getz got, not that the Padres would claim Wilson off waivers.
  8. Exactly. Wilson’s arm must be shredded, and they know it. No team, not even Jerry’s, would be that cheap over $150K.
  9. Huh? Getz cut the guy to sign two mediocre veteran fourth outfielders for a combined $4 million in what will be another losing season, even though the team would have had plenty of at bats to give to DeLoach. It sure appears that even Getz whom acquired DeLoach doesn’t think he was worth a roster spot while making the minimum. It’s funny that you get mildly excited that the Sox manage to retain these guys. It literally means that no other team wants them even though they are basically free other than taking up a 40-man roster spot. Just like if Steven Wilson clears waivers, this means that no other team wants these sorry ass bums even though they make under a million. It really doesn’t matter what you think. These are called bad acquisitions by a bad GM whom whiffed once again on part of his trade returns. It’s as simple as that.
  10. I can’t wait to see how the handful of Getz defenders try to justify this garbage…
  11. Scholtens made $747,250 last season. So either Getz thinks Scholtens is more worthy of a roster spot than Wilson, or he is admitting that acquiring Wilson was a bust. No GM makes a move like this over $200K. Logic was tossed out the window on this one.
  12. What GM could risk losing a 31-year old reliever who put up these stats? Scholtens is the very definition of a jizz mopper. Look at these numbers and now imagine what Getz thinks of Wilson… 85 IP 1-9 Record 5.29 ERA 1.529 WHIP 100 Hits 15 HR 58 K 30 BB
  13. But why? Scholtens is turning 31 and he’s bad. He is obvious DFA material. Getz cutting Wilson while retaining Scholtens is a massive admission of failure in that Cease trade. Brutal.
  14. So if the Cease trade goes completely south, as it looks like it may be headed, what does Getz have on his resume now? A couple good very minor trades and potentially the Crochet trade? All of his other trades have been crap.
  15. Good point. You should also factor in what a terribly cheap franchise should do in this situation if there is any question about Montgomery’s MLB readiness. It’s an easy decision.
  16. Exactly. Even if you get a fluke first half from Drury, he isn’t netting you much in a trade. This just takes at bats away from a young guy. Pointless. This is just more of Kenny and Hahn and hoping for lightning in a bottle from a scrub veteran. At least they cost nothing, but it’s embarrassing at this point.
  17. I just remember when posters were wondering why Getz didn’t ask for another prospect instead of taking Wilson and the Getz defenders were adamant that Wilson could be flipped for a better prospect in the future. Doh… that didn’t age well.
  18. He’s not, so don’t get your hopes up.
  19. You should just stick with your usual MO and continue to blame racism for all of your life’s woes. I bet that’s getting you places.
  20. I don’t know about World Series but you are definitely a World Class troll, and I truly do appreciate your humor. Well played, my friend. 🤣👍🏻
  21. If no team claims Wilson for under a million and the Sox retain him, that just means he’s likely toast anyways. You previously said that you thought that the Cease trade was just one prospect light. Well, now you would have to admit that it is at least two prospects short — the one you mentioned and the one everyone was expecting to obtain when Getz eventually flipped Wilson. It’s becoming more and more clear that Getz and the team he assembled can’t actually scout and identify talent outside of some pitchers. All of the position players they acquire fail miserably. Getz and his team are good at one thing, the obvious, just like Hahn. Taking back highly rated prospects in trades of stud players that Jerry doesn’t want to pay. Big fucking deal — even a fan could trade a stud player for top prospects simply by looking at a team’s top 25 prospect listings.
  22. I thought he was going to be flipped for another prospect!!! This is great news to go along with the shady health status reports on Thorpe. All we will need is another sub-.650 OPS from Zavala next season to conclude on this s%*#-show trade. Getz blows.
  23. Moncada and Rendon are two of the most injury-prone players in baseball. Whomever is not injured at the time will likely play 3B.
  24. The left side of that infield is likely to be awful defensively (and offensively as well) and Baldwin has played all of 8 games in CF in the minors.
