  1. Wow, another Chicago foodie account. This time it’s chili!!!
  2. Imagine botching the trades for two of your three last remaining trade chips from the previous regime.
  3. Some teams demand excellence and spend money. Others are mired in mediocrity and bargain shop for TWTW.
  4. Yep, I was not a fan of the idea of acquiring Vientos because his last year looks like a fluke compared to the rest of his body of work. But I’ll take Vientos all day over Acuna. At least with Vientos, you’re trying to obtain one of the things the Sox need — power. The Sox already have enough middle infielders with little to no power.
  5. C’mon… even John Olerud? 😉
  6. His strikeout rate is still a big concern, and that was part of it last year. But yeah, he’s probably the prospect we can only wish for Wolkow to become.
  7. Wow, other than having a couple star players over the years, the Angels are pretty much the White Sox of the west.
  8. I really hope he is traded now. If the Sox could get this kind of return for Slater, you have to assume Tauchman is worth more. Hopefully the Sox don’t just retain Tauchman because he’ll be a cheap starting RF option for next season. That would be a mistake and a joke. Sell high and see what Danger Will can do for the rest of the season starting in RF. There will be other options than Tauchman for what will likely be another losing season regardless.
  9. Yes, there were quite a few posts about people suggesting Hays. Getz jumped on Slater almost immediately as his self-proclaimed “number one target of the offseason” which likely put an end to any interest in the now history-proven better option in Hays as a righty outfielder. If Slater could bring back a #18 prospect, it’s fairly obvious that Hays would have returned more value than that.
  10. Sounds like they will platoon Slater with Dominguez in LF. Dominguez hasn’t hit lefties at all this season.
  11. Most people wanted Getz to sign the other Austin in the offseason, and they were right.
  12. How about you have him in the lineup like he is now and scratch him right before the game to both prevent him from any potentially injury and bluff interested teams into thinking a deal is close? It probably doesn’t work with another whole day before the deadline but at least he can’t get hurt. The risk of playing him in even one game before the deadline is too high. And I don’t think retaining Robert and picking up his option is even in the Sox mind. That’s all a BS bluff.
  13. I assume “Danger” Will Robertson replaces Slater on the roster?
  14. I’m not buying that he isn’t scratched. And if he isn’t, Getz is nuts.
  15. Yep, sounds like a back end rotation starter at best. Better than a 26 year old bullpen arm.
  16. Houser to the Cubs is still a good prediction.
  17. So you just make the effort to complain about the complainers preemptively?
  18. You wake and baking this morning? Or doing that poppy?
  19. I thought for sure Houser would be a Cub.
  20. The only question is how many balls are in the bag.
  21. I posted this stat earlier. Small sample size with the Brewers but that walk to strikeout rate is so drastically different that you have to question if the dude was just flailing at pitches with the Sox cuz he just didn’t give a damn.
  22. Sanity prevails. Getz isn’t a complete doofus. Next will be Robert on the bench.
