  1. Imagine being a fan of a team that dumps a good cheap reliever to make room to sign an even better and more expensive closer. I hope the Dodgers win the next 5 World Series and make every other cheap team eat 💩.
  2. “Dodgers designated RHP Ryan Brasier for assignment. The Dodgers’ 40-man roster is so loaded that they had to make a very difficult decision on who to remove to free up a spot for Kirby Yates and unfortunately this time it was Brasier left on the outside looking in. The 37-year-old hurler should attract plenty of attention on waivers after registering a 3.54 ERA, 0.96 WHIP and a 25/5 K/BB ratio over 28 innings with the Dodgers in 2024.”
  3. Pretty much. I see perpetual rebuilds in the Sox future until Reinsdorf is gone.
  4. Agreed. Combine both teams drafting and development talents and they might upstage the Dodgers. But separately…
  5. Well, if he does, it turns into a great trade assuming Thorpe is a decent starter.
  6. Your best example is of a team that is in a far better place than the lowly White Sox? The Sox also can’t develop a hitting prospect worth a damn like the Orioles. Regardless, no Orioles fan is trading places with us.
  7. Wouldn’t describing the Cease trade as providing a “light return” be admitting that the return wasn’t good enough or as good as it should have been?
  8. Famous last words from a bad GM. I seem to remember him using the plural “parades” as well.
  9. There will always be a team that will take on a decent reliever for a pittance, especially if the Dodgers include some cash.
  10. Yikes. So he can at least play 3B but his bat/power would obviously play worse there than SS.
  11. Other teams spend on things like this all the time and still manage to also have a reasonable payroll. The Sox have to do this now because they’ve failed in choosing the wrong front office, scouting, development, and technology for years and years. And we still don’t know if they nailed it this time either. No bonus points granted for that.
  12. We already saw what happened. The Royals extended Witt last February and then the team went on to finish 86-76 with a playoff berth.
  13. No, but they did manage to sign Witt to a $288 million dollar contract. Jerry is at $75 million.
  14. Yet those many teams at the bottom have still signed players to $100 million dollar contracts.
  15. Forget the Dodgers then… it’s still pathetic. The Sox are in great company.
  16. JR hasn’t approved signing a single player for $100 million and here is another team donating that kind of money. To quote SoxFest attendees from last Saturday — “SELL THE TEAM! SELL THE TEAM!”
  17. No worries — any projectiles or weapons would have mysteriously disappeared before the event ended anyways.
  18. Well, if you go by year after year history, you would be proving the naysayers right.

  20. I don’t believe it ever got that far to a court case.
  21. Currently around 40%. What he does with it will likely decide his future.
  22. I remember seeing their disclaimer on an article. Why they wouldn’t simply match up with MLB rules makes zero sense.
  23. Guilty, not guilty, innocent, falsely accused… Taylor damn sure isn’t a lawyer by trade because it’s pretty obvious he doesn’t know the definition of any of these words. Yes, while it’s possible that the female who accused Clevinger was lying, Clevinger was never “proven” to be “falsely accused”, and damn sure not by an “MLB investigation”. 🤣
