I said numerous times that Canario could easily bust, but that I would still like to see what he could do on this terrible team (which is now 2-8), just because it is more worth it for a terrible team to play youth over old worthless vets. Funny that a poster who said last year that he would be fine with Corey Julks being a platoon corner outfield starter for this 2025 Sox team is now running his mouth about other potentially bad acquisitions. Also, if Canario is a bust after 13 at bats or so with the Pirates, what does that make your favorite GM’s amazing acquisition Miguel Vargas after he has had many more at bats with the Sox?

No, because like TRU said, the owner of the team would never have allowed Getz to sign Crochet to that contract, whether he wanted to or not. Signing Crochet was never an option.

Two MLB teams signed Jankowski this offseason and/or season — the Cubs once during ST and he didn’t make their opening day roster and the Sox twice.

Maton, Taylor, Sosa. The majority of the bullpen. It’s all mostly a pile of suck and they currently make up the team. Meanwhile, you mentioned Casper Wells and JB Shuck. Casper Wells played a total of 37 games for the Sox in 2013 and got 71 plate appearances. Shuck received a lot more play but did have a 0.8 bWAR in his first season with the Sox. They sucked too but I’m not sure how your post is relevant but mine isn’t. The suck is all over the roster now.

You missed the point. Kenny and Hahn sucked but they were still better GMs than Getz. Getz is that freaking bad.

We can talk about Jacob Amaya, Miguel Vargas, and Travis Jankowski instead.

Getz has been nowhere near as successful as Hahn. Hahn also didn’t set the futility record.

Kenny and Hahn were both better GMs than Getz. Getz is shooting for his second straight record setting season… in losses. And what players did Getz develop again when he was the Director of Player Development for the Sox? And what did he do as the Assistant GM before his underserved promotion?

The guy went from making the opening day roster to not being able to hit at all in AAA. Sox position player development FTW!

I’m not so sure. I wouldn’t be surprised if Kenny and Hahn were given the early heads up by Jerry that they were going to have to be the fall guys for the failed Rebuild #1 and they both received nice severance packages to keep their mouths shut about it into retirement. I would be surprised if Jerry gave them no warning whatsoever after years of loyal service, but I could be wrong.

The Sox are already 2-8 and Jankowski and Taylor were starting games last week. I think most reasonable Sox fans with a clue already realize this team is going to suck either way and would welcome watching young players playing instead of mid-30’s vets wasting at bats.

Yeah, it says he chose free agency. He probably knows he has no shot again with the Sox with Tauchman back and the Drury re-signing.

Why aren’t you responding to all the other negative posts in this thread about Getz? Stop obsessing over my posts and get a hobby, and I suggest something other than White Sox baseball. Cuz they really suck and you don’t seem to be handling it very well. 🤣

I doubt Wikelman Gonzalez will pan out to be anything other than a bad reliever, but if they manage to get one or two good starting position players among Teel, Montgomery, and Meidroth that would be great. Three would be amazing albeit unlikely. But I wouldn’t be surprised if the Red Sox end up winning the trade, just like they did with Sale. The sad fact is that as long as JR is the owner, this will be what happens to any potential aces that the Sox manage to draft and develop.
