Brayan Bello seems to be too good of a target while Patrick Sandoval and Jordan Hicks seem too awful. If Sosa is the name involved, I would expect a starter somewhere in between.

Bello’s deal is a great contract for his performance though. He’s guaranteed $50.5 million over 4 years.

He gets $8 million this season — $7 million salary and a $1 million signing bonus. Obviously we don’t know how much the Sox plan on spending, but this would mean that around $11 million is left of the $20 million freed up from trading Robert for Acuna.

All he has to do is make it through next season without spilling any Campfire Milkshake on himself and I think he gets extended.
