  1. Julks or Shewmake can see their way out any time now. Hopefully both.
  2. Maybe, but he wasn’t good at all recently either in the minors from 2022 to 2024 with both Texas and Boston after returning from the independent leagues. Sure looks fluky to me. It’s actually surprising Boston even called him up.
  3. The first thing Jerry did after firing Hahn and Kenny was promote the assistant GM to full GM after admitting he never interviewed anyone else for the job. He did not consider another candidate for the position, internally or externally. That sure seems like more of the same White Sox way operationally.
  4. Yeah, he was the other bad lefty reliever that Getz traded a second round draft pick for and then dumped for cash two months later.
  5. 4.82 ERA and 1.56 WHIP in the minors. Last year may have been a fluke.
  6. Boston’s return is supposedly an unnamed minor league pitcher. Also, Robert Murray thinks he’s a funny guy…
  7. Who was Jerry’s immediate choice for new GM after admitting that he did not interview anyone else outside of the organization, or anyone else period?
  8. I’m all for trading Martin. He’s not old but he’ll be turning 28 next month. But you would have to get decent value for him. If he’s a decent back end starter he has value. He isn’t a free agent until 2031. So it might be better to wait for him to put up a good full season next year before moving him. I’d also rather keep the much younger Cannon and see if he breaks out.
  9. Yep, just what this team needs. More old players like Tauchman and Slater.
  10. Perhaps Sasaki has already been to Chicago and New York, but if he hasn’t and he was at all interested in playing for teams that weren’t in the west coast, one might think he would want to see what those cities were like during the teams’ presentations.
  11. “The Yankees and Paul Goldschmidt have come to terms on a one-year, $12.5 million deal, according to the New York Post’s Jon Heyman. That’s one more hole filled for the Yankees. The 37-year-old Goldschmidt is in obvious decline, but he did perk up some in the second half of last season, hitting .271/.319/.480. He’ll have to get used to hitting low in the order in New York, but that process did already somewhat start with the Cardinals. With Ben Rice out of the first base picture now, it will be interesting to see if he’s given a shot at the backup catcher gig in spring training. The problem there, though, is that both he and Austin Wells are left-handed hitters.”
  12. Not for CHGO apparently. No one cares about the White Sox because they are so bad.
  13. Your post is obviously putting a negative spin on such a reaction.
  14. “Rickey Henderson, Hall of Famer and MLB’s all-time stolen bases leader, dead at 65“
  15. The problem with the Yankees is that they like to keep around guys like him as a fallback in case of injury, even if he may be able to get more playing time with another team.
  16. Perpetual rebuilds and losing will do that to most fans. Let’s blame the fans, not the greedy loser in charge of the team.
  17. I wouldn’t put money on it but I wouldn’t be shocked if the Sox win 50 games next season. But that’s still horrible and not really any sort of accomplishment.
  18. Yeah, cuz it’s also closer to to California where his agency is and where he would fly in from Japan.
  19. I think if this trade was offered, it would’ve been accepted yesterday. You get an excellent 3B prospect and a lefty CF who just turned 24, even though his stock has been down the past couple years. He still has the speed to play CF and maybe he can do enough other things (play good defense, hit some dingers, and steal bases) to make up for his weaker overall bat (low AVG and OBP). ”Trade Proposal: Luis Robert for infielder Cam Smith (#73 overall prospect in MLB) and outfielder Jacob Melton (Astros #2 prospect)”
