Am I crazy to think they should just keep Lee as a backup catcher? He’s still pretty young but would he even return that much in a trade? Also, isn’t it possible that one of Quero/Teel becomes more of a 1B/DH if they both wind up being very good hitters and you want both starting? All three could catch and it would keep them all fresh. I’d rather have a third catcher with an arm and some pop on the roster than scrubs like Crapa and Palacios.

Seriously, this is the flip side. Why else would Jerry set up the deal this way? Fucker thinks he’s living until 100+. The 4 year minimum thing is just an insurance opt-out in case he dies early. Fucking guy would never give an opt-out in a contract to a free agent player but he worked an agreement to give himself one at 89 years old! 🤣 He truly didn’t ever need Hahn to work his free agent signings for him. Yeah, like the last time when Hahn said, “The money will be spent!” Just not on any true superstars. I’ll believe it when I see it. There will be zero spending until 2019 at the minimum. This agreement all but guarantees it.

So now we know the timeline for this current rebuild. 2029 at the earliest, cuz we know Jerry isn’t spending s%*# for the next 4 years.

I don’t care so much about the present but this team would be so much better in the future if he didn’t absolutely tank this season. Imagine getting back some highly ranked prospects for him at SS/CF or both? 😢

They appear to have every year abd team split for 1-Run Games but you would have to look at them one at a time. It looks like this current Sox team has a chance to set their franchise record. 2025 White Sox: 3-16 (.158) in 18 1-Run Games with 100 games left to play 2024 White Sox: 13-29 (.310) in 42 1-Run Games 2023 White Sox: 19-30 (.388) in 49 1-Run Games

I said that the Sox needed power. I never said that I expected Getz to be able to sign a power hitter for $3.5 million. The point that you missed because you are usually too busy bloviating about how you predicted something stupid in a Sox game was the second part of my post. Others have said it already but prematurely dumping 25-year old Gage Workman was a really short-sided move for a team with no power. Especially when we have Crapa and Palacios still on the team. Getz wasted $3.5 million on Rojas so I can see why he is still on the team but Crapa and Palacios taking up roster spots is a joke. Getz is truly bad at roster management.
