  1. Pinch hit him against all slow throwers! But do they exist anymore in the MLB?
  2. Yep. Higbee is old (33) but Kmet’s production was neutered by Loveland. Kmet is only 27 and could still be a #1 TE for another team. But it’s obvious he has been replaced on this Bears team. I think other teams know this and won’t want to pick up his contract, which I believe is $21 million over the next two years. I think Kmet will ultimately be a post-June 1st cut… “Per OverTheCap, the Bears can release Kmet for a dead cap hit of just $3.2 million if the team makes him a pre-June 1 cut. A post-June 1 cut would carry a $1.6 million dead cap hit.“
  3. I would hope he is looking to deal Kmet as well.
  4. Exactly. We talk about baseball being a young man’s game. Now think about football and the beating they take at every position. Poles has learned his lesson from his awful Chase Claypool trade and did the exact opposite with this DJ Moore trade, which was amazing IMO. He dumped an aging receiver and his buttload of a contract and turned it into a 2nd round pick. With Odunze, Burden, Loveland, and even Jahdae Walker (may be an underrated pickup) around, Moore was a great player to move.
  5. Mead is the Australian stud. 90 MPH is right up his alley.
  6. I’m totally aligned with this approach. This team is not making the playoffs. Hill can go play in the minors. I’d rather see if the Sox can get anything out of a 26 year old former top prospect than watch a 30 year old AAAA backup CF play defense in losses.
  7. It’s not going to be pretty. I think Fedde’s first half of 2024 was the fluke of the century. They only signed him again cuz he was dirt cheap.
  8. It really wouldn’t be. He’ll be turning 29 right before the season starts. It wouldn’t be a surprise if his best days are behind him. I wouldn’t go after Hendrickson either as he’s even older (31) unless he is cool with a one year deal. I’d rather just use draft capital on young players and keep the train rolling.
  9. If he makes the roster, he basically has to wait for an injury to get a chance to prove himself.
  10. Stud against this level of talent. Meadiocre in the MLB.
  11. I think this was mentioned numerous times by posters back when the Cease trade went down, but it seems even more likely to be the truth now. You had two good organizations with good scouting both willing to deal away a top rated pitching prospect in Thorpe, even though his minor league numbers were excellent. It’s almost like both the Yankees and Padres knew while Thorpe could dominate hitters in the minors, his stuff simply wouldn’t fare well against major league hitters so they sold high on him.
  12. I spoke too soon. But this is usually how ST games go once the starters take a seat. Although Paez has to last on the active roster for a bit to remain under Sox control.
  13. The score isn’t really ugly. The offensive performance however…
  14. His meatballs right down the cock of the plate were painful to watch. I’m sure they look like beach balls to opposing batters.
  15. Probably more like it. I just remember Getz kept praising Brooks for selling Jerry on Murakami, so it may be a mutual thing between Brooks and Getz.
  16. He sounds like a total boot licker to both Jerry and Getz.
  17. Boom. Thanks for the inside info.
  18. I doubt they are. They dumped the guy getting multiple high profile national gigs for a guy best known for SlamBall. 🤣
  19. I wouldn’t necessarily trust Brooks either if it was his decision to reduce Faust’s role. Perhaps @Lip Man 1 talked to Nancy as well? I would be curious if she said the same thing, but even then it could be a matter of her not wanting to out her former employer and ruin her relationship with the team.
  20. Her role was reduced to part-time. She never wanted a reduced role and would have stayed on full time. It was allegedly Brooks Boyer’s decision according to the first link below.
  21. I wonder… I read that Dalman’s retirement should free up $10 million in cap space, although they will obviously need to replace him. But that’s $30 million in cap space freed up between Moore and Dalman.
  22. Hopefully a 3rd. Probably a 4th due to his contract and remaining money. Nice to free up that money before Moore ages out. https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/player/_/id/25119/dj-moore
