The consensus from just about every baseball writer was that Fedde would bring back a backend top 100 prospect and another lesser prospect outside of the top 100. Let’s not change the narrative now about Fedde being overrated just because Getz got a crappy return for him.

Just look at Getz’s roster management this season. SS2K5 nailed it with his “Captain Panic” nickname. Getz cut guys far too soon that ended up having success elsewhere and also called up prospects too quickly that weren’t ready for the bigs. Getz calling up Montgomery too soon wouldn’t be a surprise at all, at this point. He’s in over his head.
