Well, I didn’t see when the date of his appointment with the surgeon is from the NY Post article. It could be that they are assuming 1-2 months of rest right now as the best case scenario but his appointment could be sooner rather than later and the doctor could recommend surgery, which may override the 1-2 months of rest.

Dum dum dum dummmmmm. So basically, he could be out for the season if he ends up requiring surgery after the appointment.

Get ready for the Sox to prove different.

May as well have a decent starter to eat the innings that Cease won’t be, and they can trade Lorenzen for a prospect at the deadline if he has a good first half like last season. Would you rather JR bank Cease’s $8 million once it is cleared off of the Sox payroll?

Sadly, they do better at that than drafting their own. Not by much though.

It should when Cease’s salaries for the next two seasons may only total just over $20 million. Where else can you get a potential ace for that price?

Agreed, 100%. But this is why I actually give dopey Morosi some credit. He ran with a story that he thought was correct and there was no way of backing out of it. That is indeed ballsier than what the fake insiders do with their insinuating eyeballs and vague comments about another “unnamed” team being interest in said player. When someone is being as obscure as possible with their supposed inside information, they are likely full of crap, have no sources, and just get off on the being a fake insider.

No, but at least Morosi risked it all and shared his information, albeit incorrect. The message board and Twitter “insiders” just stay as obscure and ambiguous as possible so they can never be wrong.
