  1. I know it’s been said before but this just tells me Crochet is as good as gone.
  2. I was going to ask what the feedback was on his first draft. Everyone said he can’t be judged on his offseason alone. Not until the draft and the trade deadline.
  3. I prefer guys that can do a standing jump out of a pool while fully submerged. ?
  4. You did the same thing I did. @JoeC was a sneaky guy between his title and three word post.
  5. I didn’t even think Jason was the greatest like some people think, but Schriffen has made me reassess. Jason was definitely better but Schriffen being absolutely terrible probably makes people miss Benetti even more.
  6. Yeah, I edited my post right when you were posting this. But you sure were right about Eloy… oops.
  7. 89 strikeouts In 209 plate appearances at Single A this year. Still bad. Still a nice prospect though, and it’s early. Hopefully he can cut his K rate down to 25 to 30%.
  8. You already answered it, but the only way team options are a negative is if the buyouts are very expensive. $2 million is not expensive at all, and if Robert actually does stay healthy and puts up the numbers he is capable of, no team is going to find a guy like that for only $20 million in 2026 and 2027. If Rosenthal truly said this, he and his bow tie are dead wrong. This isn’t difficult. Tell me one player a team can acquire next offseason like Robert for 3/$55 million. Not happening. And the buyouts are actually an out for any team that acquires him just in case Robert suffers some horrible long-term injury. 2024: $12.5M 2025: $15M 2026: $20M club option ($2M buyout) 2027: $20M club option ($2M buyout)
  9. That’s a good point. But do we know for sure that it was either Hahn and/or Kenny going to Nightengale, rather than JR?
  10. That was my first thought. The only guy Jerry would pay that much, his buddy.
  11. Basically, the NL version of our Sox.
  12. I have to question the credibility of the first link when they say this. Contract extension in 2020?
  13. They seem to be good at drafting and/or developing pitchers and horrendous at drafting and/or developing position players.
  14. This is true. Unfortunately, five years ago is a lifetime in baseball.
  15. Source? It’s hard to believe this could possibly be true, between cheap Jerry and Grifol being a new manager with no previous managerial experience. I think I had seen somewhere that the number was more like around a million per year for each of the 3 years of his contract.
  16. Fedde for Josue De Paula in a one-for-one swap.
  17. 89 strikeouts in 177 at bats at Single A.
  18. DOH, I was lazy and just read the title.
  19. That would be my guess. Definitely seems like an underwhelming pick upon first glance.
  20. Okay then, the “Sox front office’s obsession with undersized outfielders.” 5’10, 185, average speed, and he can’t play CF adequately apparently.
  21. What is Getz’s obsession with undersized corner outfielders? ”He’s got a strong arm that would suit him in right field, but he doesn’t have the typical right field build—he’s listed at 5-foot-10, 185 pounds—or raw power so he’s a bit of a tweener outfield prospect with average speed that probably won’t allow him to play center.”
  22. And if he quits, he doesn’t get paid. If he gets fired at the end of the season, he will earn another million or so for the 2025 season.
  23. His 40%+ strikeout rate is more of a reason to pump the breaks than any current prospect rating in any publication.
