I don’t care that this is a rebuild and it was expected to be a losing season. Any GM who builds a lineup this historically bad should be out after their first year.

Flexed didn’t flex. Unfortunate. I do admire him and his agent. He scammed Getz out of $1.75 million. Not much money for an MLB team but a lot of money for a terrible starting pitcher who hasn’t been good in 2+ years. How soon until Flexen is DFA? As terrible as he is, even I would have thought he would’ve lasted past 3 starts.

What do you consider a “moderately productive season”? You think Nicky Lopez is good so your expectations obviously aren’t very high. You said it, so you can define it. What to you is a “moderately productive season” for Sheets?

Neither Andrew Vaughn nor Gavin Sheets will sniff some of the seasons Valentín had.

The Sox have stuck with Sheets for the past two seasons as a part-time starter playing out of position to the tune of a sub-.700 OPS, even though he is a 1B by trade yet hits like a middle infielder. The Sox are going to ride his current hot streak until it ends and then ride him for another 250 at bats into the deep freeze of his upcoming and inevitable cold streak.

Yet he didn’t argue that Wilson shouldn’t have pitched at all tonight. But I’m sure if Wilson started a second inning tonight after throwing those exhausting 7 pitches, his arm would have immediately detached from his body and flown into the stands.
