  1. At 34 years old and given his K/9 the last two seasons, I sure as hell wouldn’t put my money on it.
  2. Hahn — loved offense, neglected defense and leadership Getz — loves defense and leadership, neglects offense Hahn & Getz — love wasting money on garbage bench players and relievers
  3. I always loved the Kermit doll jumping off the building but this one is even better.
  4. Every little signing of each bad player adds up to an overall pile of crap. The same as every other past offseason.
  5. Look deeper than ERA. Look at his dropoff in K/9. He’s toast now.
  6. Getz’s two most recent acquisitions will be a combined 71 years old when the season starts.
  7. Other teams (Astros and Padres) dumped these guys for improvements. We pick up their trash.
  8. So what is the plan here? Sign all the worst free agents available, don’t develop any of your own much younger players, and do the same thing next offseason once all of these awful one year contracts are DFA’ed or expire?
  9. $3.75 million for Chapman. Hahn, I mean Getz, just paid a combined $5.8 million for two much worse players. Nothing has changed. The Sox are the same as they always were. The little amount of money they spend in the offseason is spread out amongst a few terrible players that should likely be cut before the end of their contracts. Awful.
  10. How in the hell did this bum get almost $2 million for what he did last season? Awful. Getz’s acquisitions are starting to look just like Hahn’s. What a surprise.
  11. Yep, the whole point of this upcoming suckage is to add one year fliers on guys who could turn it around and be traded for a lottery ticket, not old geezers on their last legs.
  12. Haha, it’s just ridiculous at this point.
  13. I think that’s a fair deal. My guess is that Getz is holding out for a decent but lower ranked third piece than those four guys, likely a pitcher. But I don’t agree that they will hold onto Cease in any case. Getz won’t be taking on the risk of Cease getting hurt before the trade deadline.
  14. Compare the quotes about Yamamoto saying he would’ve signed with the Dodgers even if they hadn’t signed Ohtani because they want to win now and in the future, to our moronic owner who declared this all the way back on August 31st, even when he had no reason to… “We're not going to be in any (Shohei) Ohtani race, I'll tell you that.”
  15. The majority of Sox fans (both everyday and the hardcore variety) realize what a joke Grifol is as a manager. You think the players don’t see this as well? Mr. Culture wasn’t successful on any of his promises. No one respects the guy. But that’s just one part of it. Good players and winning also breeds a better environment, but the Sox don’t have any of these attributes.
  16. It’s a new season and a team acquiring Cease knows that their team isn’t as big of a $h17show environment as the Sox were/are. These teams probably also realize that if Tim Anderson didn’t epically suck on both sides of the ball cuz he was too busy cheating on his wife, Cease’s numbers could’ve been better.
  17. Pick your jaw up off the floor then and stop acting clueless. It happens in sports of all levels and even in job professions. Not sure how a Sox fan who has likely lived through Ozzie quitting on the team, Sox players quitting on LaRussa, and Sox players quitting on Grifol is acting ignorant to this. Who are you kidding?
  18. Or is it a pitcher who has stopped caring, just like the rest of his team, due to being out of competition for the division and having a loser for a manager? Yes, it’s not an admirable trait to give up, but the entire Sox team did the same. You can’t guarantee that if Cease was on a contending team, he would have simply pitched the exact same way as he did with the Sox.
  19. They didn’t count for the White Sox, lol. Not sure how you can possibly make the assumption that Cease puts up the same numbers with the Orioles as he did with our piece of s%*# non-contending team. Amazing…
  20. Exactly what I was going to say. Also, the rejuvenated excitement for pitching for a contender, not a 100 loss team.
  21. I was talking about acquiring Flaherty, not Cease. But if you think Flaherty is a better acquisition than Cease, more power to you.
  22. I think the risk of injury and getting jack squat for Cease far outweighs seeing if he can regain his 2022 form and trading him at the deadline.
  23. Flaherty with the stellar 6.75 ERA as an Oriole. Oops. I guess Elias can make some stupid moves…
  24. I don’t think that’s necessarily true. What do you think about @Y2Jimmy’s proposal above?
  25. Okay, would you like him for cash considerations then? As in, you take Sheets and the Sox also include money?
