  1. Haha. The proven Sox front office strategy, which has, never worked?
  2. This would turn into angry fans throwing CDs and DVDs at Sox players like ninja stars because the team is so bad.
  3. Fat [Sushi] Roll Fridays. All the sushi you can eat for $10 bucks on Fridays.
  4. He probably feeds off the hate like Emperor Palpatine. Every time he reads a tasteless comment from a Sox or Bulls fan about his untimely death, he actually gets stronger and it adds ten years to his life.
  5. Ironically, last week, The Score played an audio clip of JR recently saying something like how he accidentally / made the mistake of listening to a White Sox podcast, not so subtly ripping on Sox fans. The Score hosts ripped on JR for being a sarcastic d-bag about it and bashing the fans yet again. I wish I could find the exact quote.
  6. Fans of a team that just had an inside-the-park homerun shooting, have no room to talk about other teams’ fans.
  7. Well, Getz also had to go above and beyond what Kenny and Hahn did to get the GM job with very little experience. JR thought Getz was head and shoulders the best candidate. How Grifol got hired, I have no idea.
  8. Biggest lie of all: Paul DeJong should be on a major league roster with a major league contract and starting for a Major League Baseball team.
  9. JR loves to hear that cheap veteran free agents can still have that one last magical season. Dumpster diving for veteran position players has been a White Sox staple for years. It doesn’t matter who the GM is — Kenny, Hahn, or Getz. It’s the front office strategy.
  10. People will say it’s early in Spring Training but half of our projected starting lineup can’t hit at all, much less slug, so it will be ugly to watch all season.
  11. The sad thing is that a very small number of posters on this message board actually liked most of Getz’s moves this offseason and probably buy into the ? that Grifol is selling.
  12. I wouldn’t be surprised if Buehrle could still outpitch some of the suck on our 40-man roster.
  13. Grifol on Grifol: “I’m an idiot when it comes to player evaluations.”
  14. Makes you wonder, did Getz really think he could build what JR was expecting this year — just a few tweaks and the Sox could be a contending team — or did he just promise the world to get the GM job?
  15. Agreed. Those walks though…
  16. Sure, but he was also a guy who Getz should have been quick to drop for a more promising and younger DFA.
  17. This trade would’ve made more sense if it was the Cubs receiving Horn and the Sox receiving Thompson. A situational lefty isn’t a very dire need for a team competing for last place. The Sox should be the team acquiring young starters, not trading them away.
  18. Long-relief (a.k.a. sacrificial lamb to the longball gods).
  19. Carved out a role as what exactly? He was absolutely terrible last year and he was turning 30. A guy like Scholtens taking up a spot on the roster is why Getz does not have roster crunch issues. 85 innings 1-9 record (yes, it’s a team stat but a record this bad is hilarious nonetheless) 5.29 ERA 1.53 WHIP 100 hits 58 strikeouts 30 walks
  20. It would be pretty sad if Mena has success with the DBacks and the Cubs Pitch Lab turns Thompson into something.
  21. Yes, trading young and bad for old and bad doesn’t seem like the best strategy in baseball GM’ing. Just like how you should always be quick to drop a 29 year old pitcher with a 5+ ERA off of your 40-man roster to claim a 24 year old lefty outfield prospect.
  22. TJ surgery set for Friday. Getz couldn’t dare drop this talented 29 year old pitcher with a 5+ ERA in 2023 last week to make room for a waiver claim of 24-year old OF prospect Canaan Smith-Njigba. ?
  23. I love how you think it’s an outrageous thought that the Sox could ever make a bad trade. Their free agent signings are bad enough before you even begin discussing their poor trades.
  24. Yes, give him even more guaranteed cushion to be lazy and unmotivated. I think we have already learned that this idea didn’t work for either Moncada or Eloy the first time around.
