I believe the Sox would have to DFA Benintendi to attempt to send him to the minors; however, he would have to agree to go. He could instead choose to take the rest of his guaranteed contract, become a free agent, and sign with another team. With so many years left on his deal, I doubt Jerry would approve cutting him loose.

I disagree with Swisher. He went on to hit well for the Yankees for 4 seasons and another decent season with the Indians after he left the Sox.

Yeah, one game is a small sample size. 20 games is a big difference. That’s over 12% of the season. This team is awful. Most of the players you thought might pan out haven’t, just like I told you they wouldn’t. This team is setting records, and not good ones.
