I agree with you. The guy is 90 and hasn’t officially sold the Sox yet, but at least that is the plan and there is hope for new ownership. Not the same for the Bulls unfortunately. Keeping that team in the family will keep the Bulls in NBA hell for much longer.- Official 2026 win prediction thread.
I’m still hoping it’s because he’s working on things in the minors, but it’s just like Wolkow with his strikeouts. They won’t be successful in the majors with rates that high.- Fire Chris Getz
Even Google AI gets it. 🤣- Site Upgrade - Minor mods still needed
So far, only on my iPhone with my phone’s brightness maxed. I’ll try it on my PC.- Site Upgrade - Minor mods still needed
I can’t believe people like the dark mode. It is a cool option but my eyes must be even worse than I thought they were. I can’t see s%*# in the dark mode. I haven’t noticed any ads either, with my Pi-hole ad blocking turned on and off. Crazy.- PCA is a big fat crybaby with a contract extension
Sure, a UFA will get paid more than a young player getting an extension, but money is money. The final two years (2031 and 2032) of PCA’s deal are expensive at $30 million per season, but Heyward was getting paid $21.5 million a season almost ten years ago. Doesn’t seem crazy with the inflation of baseball contracts over time. Pete Crow-Armstrong cf 1 year/$894,000 (2026) 6 years/$115M (2027-32) 6 years/$115M (2027-32) signed extension with Chicago Cubs 3/25/26 $5M signing bonus 27:$10M, 28:$10M, 29:$10M, 30:$20M, 31:$30M, 32:$30M 2031-32 salaries increase up to an additional $18M based on 2027-31 MVP votes: $2M each for winning MVP. $1M each for second or third in vote. $750,000 each for fourth or fifth in vote. $500,000 each for sixth through 10th in vote assignment bonus: $1M with trade- PCA is a big fat crybaby with a contract extension
I’m not sure what you mean. They have had $5 million in deferred payments due annually to Heyward from 2024 to 2027. That’s $20 million. But they still had to eat his entire contract. Heyward’s annual salaries were: $15M (2016), $21.5M (2017), $21.5M (2018), $20M (2019), $21M (2020), $21M (2021), $22M (2022), $22M (2023).- PCA is a big fat crybaby with a contract extension
The Cubs gave more money to Jason Heyward ten years ago, won a World Series, and survived his awful bloated contract (8-years, $184 million) throughout several bust seasons without much of a problem. This PCA deal is chump change these days.- Fire Chris Getz
True. But he’s a businessman who is afraid to take big risks. He probably looks at it as if he made the right moves and avoided potential losses.- PCA is a big fat crybaby with a contract extension
Not surprising. He was a top prospect for a New York team. They tend to be overhyped. Regardless, the Cubs got him for the rotting overpaid corpse of Javy Baez when his contract was expiring. It was one of the best trades in recent history.- Fire Chris Getz

Maybe it’s a configuration option that was defaulted to off after the upgrade?- Official 2026 win prediction thread.
We can see the little person icons but they are grayed out and unclickable for us peasants.- 3/26 Opening Day: Sox@Brewers, Smith vs Misiorowski, 1:05 CHSN
Unfortunately, I’m aligned. It’s one thing to lose a single game, but they literally got blown out with their best starter on the mound. Their best starter who is far and away better than the rest of their weak rotation, so it’s likely only going to get worse from here. One could argue that the Sox lineup unfortunately had to face a stud in Misiorowski, but while they only had 2 hits against him in 5 innings, they only had 2 more hits against the Brewers bullpen in 4 more innings. Regardless, Getz’s lineup racked up 20 freaking strikeouts on opening day. That’s something that has never happened before in MLB history. So Getz continues to add to his list of bad MLB records, after his impressive single season loss record in 2024. Jerry won’t fire him but I can’t wait until Ishbia takes over and does what any owner with a brain would do and end this front office madness.- Fire Chris Getz
Jerry learned how to manipulate the system when he worked for the IRS early on in his career.- 2026 Old Sock Drawer

With hindsight, at this point, Roman Anthony shouldn’t have been out of the discussion. Oh well, it is what it is.- Fire Chris Getz
You are correct. Unfortunately, it doesn’t even matter. An investment in almost any professional sports team is a great investment, and time simply passing by makes it even better, even with barely any team success. Jerry and his investment group paid $19 to $20 million for the Sox in 1981. No matter how much he fucks up going forward, he still can’t lose overall.- Fire Chris Getz
The Sox really suck at injury reporting and injury timelines. From bone chips to TJ surgery to even more time out.- Crochet Trade Outcome Tracker
At this point, even Winkelman González needs to turn into a quality reliever or backend starter to make it a decent trade. 🤣- Fire Chris Getz
Just saw the news… White Sox placed RHP Drew Thorpe on the 15-day injured list following Tommy John surgery. Thorpe underwent Tommy John surgery a year ago and had a little bump in the road in dealing with tendinitis earlier this spring. Still, he’s been throwing regularly this month and could go on a rehab assignment in the coming weeks. - Bryan Hudson claimed off waivers
