  1. Look at it this way: If the Sox would lose Manuel, would they be better off in the longrun? Hell, even the shortterm, as well. Duh, yes! I'm rooting against them so they could become better overall. That, and I wouldn't have to listen to Jerry bulls*** every question he's asked.
  2. Was thinking about checking both of these Robin Williams movies out fairly soon. I haven't seen anything that I wanted to rent, but haven't rented anything in a month (last rents were Memento, Donnie Darko, Requiem for a Dream). I've heard that Insomnia is flat out brilliant, and it's director is Christopher Nolan, who directed Memento. Also heard that One Hour Photo was quite good as well. So, if anyone has some opinions on these movies, by all means share them!
  3. A true fan can hope the Sox lose, with exceptions. Say you're a Cavs fan, and assume for a moment that the NBA Lottery doesn't exist. Do you root for your team to lose and get LeBron, or win and then get Darko, and lose their chances of getting LeBron. If Manuel would get fired if the Sox got slaughtered again, of course I'd be hoping they'd get annihilated. Is it going to happen? No way.
  4. In DH game #2, Kannapolis was the victim of a perfect game (7 innings). More info when I submit my minor-league recap.
  5. Neal was wild, that's why. Total line: 5 IP 2 H 2 ER 4 BB 5 SO 1 HR Barons amassed a massive six hits.
  6. All I know of is... 5 IP 2 H 2 ER (Loss)
  7. I've been saying this since last year. In 2001, Manuel had injuries as excuses. Last year and this year he has none, he is killing this team.
  8. Thanks Rex, and Cotts is down 1-0 in the third or fourth, correct?
  9. I thought Adam Loewen was still in Draft and Follow phase. O's gave up on him? Would be great to see him slide to 15, but I doubt it will happen.
  10. The one thing I absolutely loathe about Stewart, is that if he gets ahead of a hitter, he proceeds to nibble. Also, he never EVER pitches inside when he's 1-2, 0-2.
  11. Up 3-1, double, then HR.
  12. Finished it. Was pretty easily except for one verbal test. The rest were quite easy, though. I was kind of amazed to see Distill:Pure :: for the last analogy, freaking easy!
  13. I also have a cold. I took a test out of an SAT prep book, and it said I got a 1320. 730 Math, 590 Verbal. So, any good luck would be greatly appreciated.
  14. Not to sound like a smart ass, but I told everyone that I thought Birmingham would be pretty awful this year. If the Barons didn't have Cotts or Pacheco, they'd be f***ed.
  15. Do I believe that Willie is THE answer? No, I believe Borchard is THE answer. Currently is Willie bound to be more productive than Rowand? Of course he will be.
  16. If it was a gay disease, it would be relegated to Gays only. There is no proof at all that Gays spread or contract AIDS more than heterosexuals do. Vaginal, oral, and anal sex spread AIDS at the same rate, which is around 100 percent. Of course there are abberations along the line where someone who does engage in sex doesn't acquire AIDS, but it's an abberation.

  18. Firing KW doesn't make any sense to me at all. Yeah, he deserves the blame for the failed Wells and Ritchie incidents, but I honestly believe he's finally figuring the GM trade out. He's made some very solid minor league trades which no one hears about, and they could possibly help in the near future. KW has put together a very solid team this year, and that's his job. Manuel, on the other hand, should be fire and drowned in the Chicago River. No enthusiasm, no balls, no emotion. When you are a passive manager, players will begin to stop caring and slack off, look what has happened for 2+ years now. The one instance where JM actually grew some balls was with Garland, saying he better get his s*** together. The start after he says this, Garland pitches 5 2/3 IP 2 ER. Also, look what Lou Piniella has done in Tampa Bay. He gets all over those kids down there, and they have really improved as a ballclub. If anyone here thinks that KW is the problem, and not Manuel, you have some serious issues.
  19. Look at this spiffy line: 1 2/3 IP 9 H 8 R 8 ER 2 BB 3 SO Yeah, he's pretty much done.
  20. About the stop hitting the ball in the air spiel, how do you explain Willie's 21 singles? Long singles off the wall?
  21. As the main worshipper of Webster here, it would be a good thing to keep Anthony down at Kannapolis. He's only 19 or so, and has too much potential to be wasted on rushing him through the organization. He'd been hitting a lot of extra base hits lately, but his SLG % (.385) is a bit too low. His .400 OBP is a great sign, though.
  22. Todd Jones needs to be sent to a federal pound me in the ass prison. f***ing homophobe, my God.
