  1. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Apr 3, 2015 -> 02:56 PM) The only thing I think Bryant shouldnt have said was that shot about being better than players on the the team last fall. Its absolutely true, but thats just something you dont say i guess he has no problems with being humble.

  3. ok, i need a little info to help me sort out this thing i am having a problem with. can someone, using the advance stat formula or whatever you use, can some one figure out the sox standings in the central with det and cle. i don't know if that can be done or not. i am not too knowledgeable with all that advance stat lingo. my problem is, am i being too much of a white sox homier that i can't see the truth. i keep reading on how many are picking det to win and sox coming in 3rd in the central. with price being a better pitcher than sale.

  5. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Apr 3, 2015 -> 05:04 AM) Apparently the Sox are like Illinois and he is looking for Notre Dame type money a very nice analogy

QUOTE (Brian @ Apr 3, 2015 -> 12:06 AM) If anyone takes the series seriously, they'll be disappointed. It's mindless fun. i know what you mean. but i hear, not hear but critics tear it a part for this reason or that, or too much emotion or not. it is as you said mindless fun.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 3, 2015 -> 02:48 AM) The Eva Mendes one was "okay" and then Tokyo Drift was surprisingly good if you rewatch it again today...and fit it into the overall series chronology with Han. Lucas Black (CSI New Orleans) simply wasn't a big enough name at the time to do much more than straight to video business, with all the primary characters out of the action and on the sidelines. i kinda like TD.... but lucas black ..... i don't know. i have a hard time with him as an actor.

QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Apr 3, 2015 -> 07:06 AM) I got into a Ph.D program with s***ty test scores. I am ready to spend the next 5-6 years of my life in absolute poverty. way to go..... hope and wish the best.... i love the bold. what are you majoring. nice dog in your sig. funny.
  9. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 3, 2015 -> 01:56 AM) Well, I hope he doesn't litter Charlotte with homers and have everyone expecting A-Rod/Tejada/Nomar numbers. He's more of a line-drive hitter from all accounts... visually ..... i like it. a hr comes flying outa of the park , hits a poor dog, the family is in a outrage mood, cussing Anderson for hitting hrs.
  10. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 3, 2015 -> 12:53 AM) Elite hitter is Robbie Cano or Chase Utley in his prime. Anderson profiles similarly, but can he manage to get into that 15-25 homers (annually) category? Most would peg him for 8-12 at this point, but of course these are just projections. More like Durham than Cano....and, without plate patience/discipline and increased walk numbers...and those contact rates, he can't quite be putting himself in the conversation as an elite hitter. i understand what you are saying and in some respect, i agree. however i said he will be a elite hitter, i am saying that i like his hit tool and approach at the plate. hitting hrs is not the only way to gage elite hitting. i am talking about the whole package. he has that and he will get better. i really can see him developing more and to become that special hitter, pretty much like Aelexa and Jose A. btw, a question, in what part of the order do you see him? me, i see as a #2 type of hitter.
  11. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 3, 2015 -> 01:10 AM) Surprised there are no Eaton, Aaron Rowand, Jake Peavy or Kenny Williams quotes about "Sox Tough/blue collar/lunch pail" stuff. I guess Abreu's now the prime example of humility, with his "Puritan" work ethic and lack of interest in seeking the limelight or attention like Puig, Moncada and Cespedes. a very outside the box comment. i like it very much.
  12. QUOTE (hi8is @ Apr 3, 2015 -> 07:06 AM) If history repeats itself - LaRoche will have a slow start. That said, he'll at least be a 6 week whipping boy. I've got higher hopes for him thou and was a big fan of this move. same here. i hope he doesn't slump, at least in the beginning of the season.
  13. 4-3 ucsb - won - Dillon Tate - sp, 9 ip, 6 hits, 1 run, 1 er, 1 bb, 8 k's, fl st - won - DJ Stewart - of. batting #3, 1 ab, 1 run, 0 hit, 0 rbi, 2 bb, 0 k's
  14. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Apr 2, 2015 -> 10:44 PM) Agreed. He's the only one who can go 3+ right now in that bullpen. When a starter struggles early/gets lit up (I'm looking at you John Danks) he'll at least eat up the innings. actually that was how i saw the season panning out. that was if Rodon made the roster out of spring. Danks at #6 - sp, eating innings and holding the this team together with good pitching. but someone said it was a bad move b/c of what he is getting paid. i still think that still would be the best option.
  15. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 2, 2015 -> 11:36 PM) IF IF IF Anderson can stick at SS this year and make positive strides defensively. Let's say we did take Aiken. There's zero consensus around baseball exactly where he would end up on a Top 100 list. He'd definitely be there somewhere, speculatively. With all the uncertainty, we probably pass, but it all depends on our medical experts analyzing the results of his surgery and likelihood for future problems. Probably, he ends up like that kid in "Rookie of the Year" that pitches for the Cubs and his fastball velocity increases to 97-101, haha. Then blows out again. Anderson will still rank high, b/c of his hitting. he will be a elite hitter imo. where he plays defensively will be up to the coaches. now as of today, the only prospect that will be ranked higher will be Rogers - ss. he will not drop to #8, he will be the first pick.
  16. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 2, 2015 -> 11:35 PM) I'm going to say the opposite. Anderson and Adams slide back....Adolfo, Hawkins and Montas surge forward. Davidson has a nice rebound season and replaces Conor at some point. Barnum finds his way to Top 10 and has injury-free season. what have you been smoking???? if that happens, this ranking will drop the system to 30..
  17. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 2, 2015 -> 10:28 PM) I very much disagree. Maybe when you get a top 3 pick that happens, but Anderson this year should be rocking in the middle of AA. If he hits like he did last year and improves a bit on defense we're talking about a legitimate top-25 in baseball prospect by the time the lists roll around next offseason. Maybe better than that. Anderson not being at the top of this list when we get to the post draft list means either Rodon hasn't been called up yet or something went wrong. We're used to our first round pick immediately being at the top because our system has been so bare for so long. No longer the case. Guys who have been in the system for several years should be higher than a guy being sent to rookie ball. great logic ...... i agree.
  18. QUOTE (Dunt @ Apr 2, 2015 -> 08:08 PM) I have to believe that the first round pick will be above Anderson, right? If a top 10 pick is immediately your third best prospect, your system is sitting pretty. i really don't know. depends on who they pick. BPA will be a subjective pick, that player coming in, will he be ranked higher??? Anderson as it is, should be #1, esp with his hitting. Adam is he better than that player drafted, that is where i am looking.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Apr 2, 2015 -> 09:56 PM) Its a pretty unique movie series in that way. Three and four totally bottomed out the series, I remember when Vin Diesel came back to the series I laughed at the notion that the movies would make a comeback. yeah i agree, for me will be how they will bring in Jason Stratham character in. i am taking this film as an entertainment kind. i wonder if it would be ok.
  20. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 2, 2015 -> 08:50 PM) http://www.azsnakepit.com/2015/4/2/8329411...son-report-card Peter O'Brien, Inciarte and Peralta could be interesting options for the Sox down the line, when/if they become available. This is pretty much a blueprint for what NOT to do when rebuilding (see Hahn, last offseason)....with significant question marks surrounding their pitching staff, outfield, catching situation (worst in majors, likely) and how/when/if/where Yasmani Tomas and Yoan Lopez (broke the bank in international signing period) will make a significant impact on the major league team. i know, i been scouring the Az minor league roster. there are some interesting prospects. you mention o'brien, nah, but the player around him on the milb list is of better interest. i was looking at a 3b/mi and catcher. now if one of their OF is avail around the 19-21 yr one i saw, looks nice.
  21. ahhh but the real die hard sox fans, those that stayed loyal thru the lean yrs, those who are itching for the season to start, b/c of this team that the org assemble. they will come, and when the excitement begins b/c of the winning of those games, the domino effect will happen. > recipe for a great season.
  22. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 2, 2015 -> 08:06 PM) SO WHERE IS MY LAPTOP?!?!?!? ohhh that is funnier.
  23. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Apr 2, 2015 -> 07:49 PM) Rant A VP forgot his password while on vacation, calls the helpdesk who of course change it for him without checking to see if he is on our network. He isn't so the password never syncs to his laptop, and he refuses to go to our nearest branch location (50 miles away) to get on our network to sync it. Instead he wants a new laptop shipped to him (he's in Panama) and he's going to ship the old one back. So pretty much he's going to spend more time shipping/receiving the laptops then it would take him to drive to the branch and just hardwire it in. But since he's a VP we pretty much can't say no. And I'm sure there will be documents missing as I bet the last backup time wasn't today. All this because he can't remember his password while on vacation.... What the hell!? /Rant the perks of being a boss.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 2, 2015 -> 04:28 PM) FURIOUS 7 thumping out chest with 83% positive ratings at RT.com http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/furious_7/...ype=top_critics Targeting a $122 million US opening. i say some previews, it look nice.
  25. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 2, 2015 -> 02:40 PM) Unless it was someone like Alex Jackson and you believed he could stick at catcher....Schwarber, etc., where you sacrifice a few positions in the draft to go underslot because of the compelling organizational need at that position. Just saying "Flowers/Sota/Brantly/Kottaras/Nieto/K.Smith" doesn't mean there's a single long-term answer there. MAYBE Nieto. excellent..... thanks and that is the point.
