QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Apr 1, 2015 -> 05:24 PM) He wasn't dfa'd I believe. He was just knocked off of the 40 man so he will be expose to any team who wants to offer a spot in the 40 man, right?

MLB trade rumors has SP - Miguel Gonzalez being outrightes ..... now i think he is avail to anyone. i know i am trying to be very simple here. i screwed up yesterday and i am trying to be correct in what i am reading. btw, i think he would be a real nice addition if this is true. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2015/04/phil...ppe-aumont.html

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 1, 2015 -> 04:46 PM) BA looks at Aikens draft status. http://www.baseballamerica.com/draft/ask-b...s-draft-status/ a nice find.... good hard work done. for me, back to Aiken and not the article, i am still not sold on him.... but that is me.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 1, 2015 -> 04:47 PM) And what day did I say that? I'm guessing it was in October. Probably it came before they added LaRoche, Robertson, Me.Cabrera, Duke, Samardzija, Soto, Beckham (pushed them over the top and past KC), Bonifacio, Rodon (to active roster), Crain, Albers, etc. If the White Sox came back with the same team as ended 2014, yeah....2015 would have been over. With Viciedo starting again, I'm sure you believe the Sox are/would be the better team!!! But what's your point, exactly? That I should have gotten out a magic 8 ball and envisioned last October what Hahn was going to do this offseason...because I'm sure there are posts all over SoxTalk with you predicting/projecting exactly what has transpired, right? Now you're just picking fights because you have nothing better to do with yourself, it seems. you mean you do not have Hahn's phone number..... sheesh what good are you.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 1, 2015 -> 02:38 PM) If this was still a thing, they would have never traded for the guy in the first place. in my opinion, this is a win / win situation. if Jeff signs and a friendly contract, and help the team in the playoff, fine. if he doesn't sign, still does ok, it will strengthen his position and another team signs him, it is still a win, the sox get a comp pick, and his performance in the playoff. a nice win. -
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 1, 2015 -> 04:42 PM) Yesterday, except for the bomb of a HR, the Dodgers hardly touched him, and he wasn't throwing his slider. Just his fastball and change he is working on. If he stays healthy, Sale might not be the ace in a couple of years. yeah but lets think of it this way...... a nice position to be in

QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Apr 1, 2015 -> 04:21 PM) Are my rose colored glasses larger than the novelty Harry Carey glasses you can get on Addison and Clark or is it conceivable that the three best left hander starters not named Kershaw could pitch for the White Sox in 2016. IMHO I think David Price is regressing and will be right behind them and Kershaw above them. you got a great point.... about the 3 lefties. next yr fa class, esp with Jeff S may not sign with the sox. question, will the other prospect be ready to step in, other than Rodon??? oh i forgot the unforgetable ace the sox has ..... Penny.

QUOTE (Joshua Strong @ Apr 1, 2015 -> 04:07 PM) http://www.baseballamerica.com/draft/ask-b...s-draft-status/ Also the hype is building around Kyle Tucker. that is my guy... i was really enamored with him, Ian Happ and Kirby.... i think i had a couple of other pitchers before the season started that didn't panned out. Tucker, how far can he rise, also he is rail thin, wait until he puts on 20-30 lbs of good weight / muscle.... the best hitter in the prep class and niceeeee power with a nice avg... now if he can maintain it?? that is the question. Kirby is doing really good this yr so is Happ. Happ the best hitter in college ranks, can play a weak 2b, cf, corners of.... i wonder if he can play 3b? i now found out, according to a blog about Bickford. his secondaries pitches didn't develop as some pro's had hope..... but it is still a long college season. Allard is out due injury for the season. how bout drafting him 4th rnd and buy out his college commitment, if he falls that far??

QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Apr 1, 2015 -> 04:58 PM) Taco Bell serves breakfast now. oh man that is extremely funny.... i wish i can find an adjective to describe it.

QUOTE (Señor Ding-Dong @ Apr 1, 2015 -> 03:26 PM) Jace Fry was extremely impressive in his spring training appearance the other day. I dont't know if he projects as a starter or reliever, but if that performance was any indication I see him getting on the fast track. As for the Latin players, I don't think most of them have even made a DSL or rookie league appearance yet, so while it will be interesting to track their development, I don't know if they'll impact the prospect lists in the immediate future. you are right about the latin prospects..... but wow ..... the shear idea of some of them even becomes true.... this system will be one to watch. now if they can find a prospect who could hit the ball a mile ..... that extra power hitter who will make it as a mlb power hitter.

QUOTE (WhiteSoxLifer @ Apr 1, 2015 -> 02:08 PM) You can actually stache and fro a player at the same time you know someone is going to print this up and show Jose..... i really would love to be a fly on that wall when he see this. -
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 1, 2015 -> 02:03 PM) The final goal isn't organizational rankings. It is cranking out cheap major league talent. If Rodon graduates and is half as good as he can be, I will be perfectly happy with drop in our organizational rankings. a very good end results..... however at some time, this system will get to a point that it will level off. however that is not the time yet..... however i do love the amount of pitching prospects that the sox have....

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 1, 2015 -> 03:00 PM) Hopefully there isn't a fit here for him. yeah.... a great positive from a negative fact. i wonder, a #6 kinda of pitcher?? -
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 1, 2015 -> 01:52 PM) Don't forget the ascension of Montas/Danish/Micah Johnson.... Plus, odds are VERY high we replace Carlos Rodon with another high impact collegiate pitcher with tremendous upside, so we definitely belong in that teens range....Law had us, what, 14th or so? 12th? It was significantly higher than any rating we'd seen on the minors in ages, I remember that much. with all due respect, i don't see the quality of a Rodon among the pitchers this draft. but like i said, a good discussion can be made because of of Mickler and Adams. but i just don't know. i guess i am being overly cautious .

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Apr 1, 2015 -> 01:49 PM) We could have said the same about it losing Abreu, EJ, who many liked as a prospect, and Semien. The draft can hold surprises and other players stocks can shoot up (Especially Adams and Hawkins) you are soooo right, but the talent level of Rodon, that is a hard replacement. now the development of other prospects is a given and all the surprises that will make a name for themselves. i know i am being overly pro sox in the minors talk, but wow, the talent is there. they just haven't made a name for themselves. i see huge things coming from Fry. but on a bias side, i still wish they had drafted 1 of the 2 catchers that was drafted in that rnd. aside from that, Fry, in his profile reminds me of Gio.

with no movies worth going out to see, i saw Bad Boys 2 again. i needed the comedy. i still crack up and again in tears from laughter, when both will and martin was in the tv shop and martin was complaining about his arse hurting. that is a classic scene. pure laughter.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Apr 1, 2015 -> 04:08 AM) Does that mean Reinsdorf is changing his policy against signing older pitchers to big long term deals? If not, he is walking away. i don't know if their is a good enuf excuse to sign him. this system / minors system that the sox have, is on the cusp of exploding with good to great prospects in pitching. there is so many spots available for these pitchers. -
QUOTE (Joshua Strong @ Apr 1, 2015 -> 09:36 AM) I think 20 is a good spot, after Rodon not a lot of proven guys adding Adams and Micker, can that be reasons enuf??? i just don't know, i don't think so. next yr, the sox system is going to get hammered when Rodon is not listed there.

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Apr 1, 2015 -> 01:14 PM) Broussard said that Rose is looking to facilitate once he comes back now that he knows he has Niko, Pau and Jimmy all capable of scoring 20. That would be best if he could facilitate for 3.5 quarters then become Point God for the last 6 minutes, if he still has it in him. It's Broussard though, take it with a grain of salt. that is what a pg suppose to do, dish out to the 1, 2 and 3 choices while at the same time taking it to the hoop, as a last resort. Isiah Thomas comes to mind.
