QUOTE (3GamesToLove @ Mar 15, 2015 -> 12:21 AM) Why are both LSU and Ole Miss wearing white pants? Is this normal in college ball? It's driving me crazy. well its better than wearing only a joc and nothing else.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Mar 14, 2015 -> 02:58 PM) "Next wave"? If he didn't arrive for 5 years he'd still be 23 and young for the big leagues. That's like 3-4 waves away. exactly, he would be leading that wave of prospects. the immediate group are the ones we are discussing, the Rodon, MJ, Danish etc ... group he should start leading the next wave after that one. the new players who didn't make the top list, the new group of int't players, the next group of drafted players. in other words the continuation of incoming prospects. we as fans been watching Danish, Hawkins, Andersron grow as players, i just want to see that with Mickler.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 14, 2015 -> 03:06 PM) It is WAY too early to be leaning on numbers with Micker. you are very correct, but for me, i like the see and keep a visual note of his progress. as a fan of most things sox, i like to follow and in a round about way cheer for the progress and continued development. it like he is leading the next wave of future sox players.

as a disclaimer, i am a minority, i fought for peoples rights when i worked for the gov. my problem is in the civil liberties part of the law. in today age, people are too swift to do what they think is the right thing, b/c they may be afraid of what the public reactions may be. this group, has rights, maybe the outlook is skewed, but i am talking about rights, that people fought for. next there is due process and due diligence that needed to be followed. hate groups are always going to be around, there has to be a way to nullified their msg, their goal without giving them an opportunity to have their time in court and all the publicity that come with it, and again within the scope of the law.

QUOTE (Joshua Strong @ Mar 14, 2015 -> 06:59 AM) I expect him to have a solid year, remember he was 17 last year i would like to see, meaning in write ups, rpts of his improvement. the hype about him got me wanting to read more of his progress.

QUOTE (Jerksticks @ Mar 14, 2015 -> 01:48 AM) I thought Beckham was a stud at 3B when he first came up. New position but his athleticism really shined on choppers where he had to run toward the plate. I feel like the Sox neutered him somehow by sticking him at 2B where the weakest guy plays. I say neutered for lack of a better term coming to mind but it kinda fits. He won 3B that year. i thought he, as you said, put in a new position on the field that affected him. i don't know it would, but it did. his hitting and avg suffered. even in a little time with LAA, he played 3b, he put up close to his rookies numbers. however i know it is a limited time in LAA. here is a better questions for the fans who are better inform on baseball and stats, can playing out of a natural position affect a players hitting that much??

QUOTE (Condor13 @ Mar 14, 2015 -> 05:45 AM) I'm at the point that if Micah Johnson is not the opening day starter at 2B I will have lost all faith in the front office!!! i accept what you are saying, but lets think of it this way, if he is not ready to play in the majors, and press into playing in the majors, then he is being rush. he may have a great career, i would like for him to be ready to handle everything that comes with the position, meaning pressure and stress. however it is the coaches that makes those decisions.

the great thing about the sox top prospect that this site make or create, we as fans are spoiled. whereas we the fans can not get a reason in their thought process, these good folks can be asked and they will explain it all. this is indeed a luxury to have, in other words, spoiling us the fans. good job on FS top prospect list.

QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Mar 14, 2015 -> 12:39 AM) You think Micah Johnson has no chance of making the team? Honestly, I would be shocked if he's not the opening day 2B. i will say, barring injury to anyone else, Micah Johnson will not make the team. not b/c i have no faith in or i am not a fan, its b/c i think the FO will want him to continue to work on his defense at 2b. i will gladly eat my words, if i am wrong.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Mar 13, 2015 -> 10:54 PM) As long as he can play 3b and Ss from a physical standpoint, you might be right. He had a nice line drive (for an out) to the opposite field yesterday...looked like he had a plan up there it is a said commentary when fans are just desperately looking for any small thing to say, you see, he can still contribute. fyi i was a beckham fan in the beginning of his career. too bad i feel for him.

QUOTE (SCCWS @ Mar 13, 2015 -> 10:21 PM) I think the confusion comes on how the writer arrives at his rating. I could be wrong, but I think position has an impact. He uses the standard 5 categories: hit, power, run etc and he averages the five scores. But if you notice Adolfo scores slightly higher than Johnson but is rated below him. Hawkins rates slightly higher than Trey but he also ranks slighly lower. I wonder if he ranks outfielders lower than infielders when the numbers are in the same range??? finally someone who can think of a possible standard. i have been asking for something like this for many yrs. however, i would love to hear the author's reasoning. on FS NSS put up a list of the top 8. one has anderson rated higher than rodon. if this cause some headaches. i can imagine what the other one would do.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Mar 13, 2015 -> 10:51 PM) Depends if they believe Sanchez is better off playing everyday (at Charlotte) or he's pretty much destined to end up as a utility guy. i really hate to say this, but i think no matter what, MJ will not make the team this yr. i think the sox FO wants him to work on his defense in the minors, less stress if he makes an error.

QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Mar 13, 2015 -> 10:35 PM) Beckham is batting a cool .053 in spring training. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if we cut him before the season started for a friendly wager for fun, i bet he stays with the team and goes north.
-
QUOTE (flavum @ Mar 13, 2015 -> 09:53 PM) His defense is slightly above average. I'm not "hating" on Beckham. I just don't think he's very good, and he was lucky the Sox brought him back. Once he leaves again, (and he will), he may have a tough time finding a team to take him on. the way some in the FO thinks, he may have been the best option for the cost.

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Mar 13, 2015 -> 08:43 PM) Ironic that everyone ripping me is actually making my point. If this guy is so dumb to even consider Trey to be a better prospect than Courtney wouldn't you have to question the validity of his entire list? NSS said lists form 2 years ago are going to look silly. So why be up in arms if a guy is ranked 8 or9? interesting conversation. i missed it. since this is a subjective opinion which in itself may vary from others opinion, in other words, no one is right. why question the whole list?? is there a final ranking that is right, making all others wrong, pretty much like how someone will take a test with a certified answer list. on this forum what makes mine (i am always right ), more correct than any others?

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Mar 13, 2015 -> 07:38 PM) What's the point of arguing anything at a baseball message board..as the supposedly "pure" statistics can be slanted or skewed any which way to make your case. oh man, why do you need to bring in logic to a msg board???

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Mar 13, 2015 -> 04:45 PM) Yu Darvish is getting Tommy John surgery some hard luck there. i am a fan of his.

if a lot of the discussion has a alot of the results based on performance. so how can Mickler A be ranked, as high as he is. let say for this discussion, the performance is not in the equation, still how can he be ranked as high. while the rankings are nice and can create some really great conversation, it is not the final word. i still have to love the quality of this system. i know it is a project that is still growing.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Mar 13, 2015 -> 03:18 PM) Wouldnt it be better to retool the rest of the roster with the money you are saving by cutting out the guy that plays 50% of the games? you have a good point there. the bird's right, but how many yrs would they sign for. in ref to yrs???
-
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Mar 13, 2015 -> 03:07 PM) Pat Riley is complaining about Lebron leaving Miami and "contemporary free agency". He said the stars of the past would never leave. IIRC, Riley signed Lebron as a free agent. someone should remind Riley, it is all about the money as he should know, b/c of what he paid to get players to play for him. sounds like someone has a short memory span there.

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Mar 13, 2015 -> 02:03 PM) I was thinking if you could get a top 15 prospect in your system for a couple of months of Adam Dunn, either your system is just horrible or Hahn is a thief, and the system does seem to be improved. Of course we won't really know until they reach Chicago. It would be nice to see the Sox develop an offensive player that actually helps you win games. i agree, getting bodies in the system, lot of bodies and let them compete against each other, to take the best north. i also agree, and i would like to add, many will not fully develop as hope. there will be a turnover. so in a short time Hahn and the FO has indeed turn this system around, i will hate it when it will hit the proverbial brick wall, which will happen.

QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Mar 13, 2015 -> 01:50 PM) He'll play a ton next year for Hoiberg. that was the person i was trying to think about a week ago. the person, i think gar/pax is trying to get here.

some doesn't need to see them, they depend on scouting rpt. during draft time, the org may not look at all players that are expose to the draft, but they depend on scouting rpts. as i been complaining about with some of these ratings, and rankings, is there a standard on how they, the prospects are judge?? it is all subjective. if i am wrong in this next statement, i apologize, but like FS, don't they have something like a round table with the writers, which they then discussion and present their point of view on their list??

QUOTE (shysocks @ Mar 13, 2015 -> 02:34 PM) Abreu is partially responsible for the size of these deals. Cubans were having success long before him but it seems like he and Puig broke the dam. Now there's no chance for any of these teams to get surplus value. and some are getting paid way over the normal cost. its like all the org are expecting to catch magic like the sox did with Jose A.
