no one is going to tell me that carlos or i should say scott boras is finding an excuse not to sign with the astro. a NO TRADE CLAUSE. come on now. all it would have taken is a simple phone call and tell them to correct the contract language. and i am happy for hous. more teams gets screwed from scott the less teams he will have to bargin with in the future.

QUOTE(danman31 @ Jan 9, 2005 -> 07:10 AM) This is the kind of bulls*** that makes us mods/admins look bad. You f***ing flipped out over this and created a whole thread about it. Vendetta? I have no vendetta against you, hell, when do I ever post in the same threads as you? Anyway, I have no vendetta and I think what you did was crap. You made fun of wino's sexuality in your sig and then got mad at us for telling you to remove it. To put a positive spin on this is horses***. man i am sorry i posted this thread, for the record, the mod are doing a great job. and i am not kissing any arse.

QUOTE(ZoomSlowik @ Jan 9, 2005 -> 06:16 AM) The Bears have a high pick at the absolute wrong time for them. The top 5 is likely to be some combination of Rodgers, Rolle, Derrick Johnson, the 3 top RB's, Leinhart and/or Travis Johnson if they come out, none of whom really solve our problems unless we decide to move on at QB. I'm not sure about Ferguson, he's being hyped but I haven't seen much of him. He's better than the other tackles in the draft from everything I've heard though. I like Williams, but he isn't an elite speed guy and 4 is probably too high. Unless he runs something ridiculous at the combine I don't see him going that high. I'm definitely not sold on Edwards. I agree with you guys, he has the same MO as Terell: not very fast, makes plays by being physical with guys and outjumping them in the endzone. That's not likely to work for him in the pros, much like Terrell (Terrell is actually a little bigger). Here's my move if I'm Angelos: trade down and take Williams or Edwards and try to add offensive line depth with the extra picks. In free agency, make a major move to get any of the stud left tackles (IIRC, Walter Jones, Jonathan Ogden, and Orlando Pace are all potential FA) and sign a veteran backup QB. Those additions at least give Grossman (or whoever they plan on starting) a chance. Unfortunately it sounds like Angelos doesn't think adding a stud left tackle is a major priority (apparently he is blind). If Qasim Mitchell or Marc Colombo start at left tackle next year, it won't really matter who plays QB, the offense will struggle. i agee with what you wrote, i waited to see what people were going to write before i did mine. but it is close to what you wrote the bears need is on offense, esp at wr and ol. this is a weak draft and too bad for us. the bears will spend money in the fa's for wr and experiment with moving tait ove to tackle again. move m columbo to guard m williams has no deeep threat speed and the bears need is a speedy wr depending if fergunson comes out is the only point in the trading done theory if not trade down and pick up j brown from oklo get a extra 2 and 3 rounder. i would look at thorpe wr out of fsu for one of the extra pick and here is a sleeper, how bout a kicker - nugent out of osu the best kicker in the nation as an extra pick, pickup..

i want to see what the post was and it was gone??
-
my take on this is pony up for the money and get either the japanese player or the other fa's "inf" and save the money for another move later down the road. let say a trade for a high price pitcher or someone if an injury happens.
-
i don't know, you should asked some of these posters who said that it was a good trade, they even argued with me on this point. i hated this trade. the second worst trade that kw made. the first being royce clayton trade and the todd ritchie being a tie.
-
i just saw the some of the actual video and this sucks, know what happen. you see people who was clinging on and they lost their grips. i feel for them.
-
you may be right, it is hard to break up what they have put together and man they are playing great. i hope the kids gain confidence. i would love to see a game agains dal and hou now, this will tell me how far they have come.
-
however, he has done well in signing of the fa's. however in the trade front, i still think that i didn't like the clee trade. i still think we got the wrong end of the value. but i can live with what he has done b/c he supported the trade with some decent signings.

trade bait???

QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Jan 9, 2005 -> 06:03 AM) 2002: Ray for Adkins and $ 2002: Lofton for Diaz and Meaux 2003: Mark Johnson, Keith Foulke, Joe Valentine for Billy Koch and Neal Cotts oops my bad and thanks for the correction. damn it hard to remember all the bone head trades that kw has done. however he has done well this offseason.
-
QUOTE(YASNY @ Jan 9, 2005 -> 05:38 AM) Didn't we get Adkins from SF for Lofton? I could very well be wrong on this. My memory isn't what it used to be. i know remember the trade, it was ray to oak for adkins and a ptbnl who wounded up being cotts. diaz came from sfo for lofton
-
just for my mind set, i am divided to turner coming back. is he really the only options available, can he really help the offense get going. i mean his success came what..... 9 - 10 yrs ago.

QUOTE(SEALgep @ Jan 8, 2005 -> 11:04 PM) I think there are about 32 teams who would sign Miller with that deal. What's your point? He chose Boston, case closed. my point is were we even in the running for miller, i never heard a word of kw pursuing him and i think he should have. as you said miller is worth the money invested. that is my point and i do know that boston sign him. read the other post where the other guy mention signing miller was way too expensive. now do you understand what i am saying?
-
QUOTE(chisox05 @ Jan 9, 2005 -> 04:29 AM) however i doubt KW would want to trade him, its almost a matter of pride in the fact that he traded durham for him. are you sure you got the right trade, we got cotts from oak diaz from sfo adkin from???? if i am mistaken, i am say sorry right away. i got a little mixed up

ARE THESE BULLS FOR REAL OR WHAT!!!!!!!!!! man this if going to be a great exciting team of the future. i can't believe how these kids are doing.

QUOTE(Winnin Ugly @ Jan 8, 2005 -> 11:58 PM) Has their been any reports in Chicago about Ray coming back to Chicago... Here in San Fran they think the deal will go through. One of the host on KNBR thinks that the Giants wants Damaso Marte in return too much of a price to pay

QUOTE(qwerty @ Jan 8, 2005 -> 11:18 PM) I swear i did not quote anything. I must have though. When i said that i was not gonna suppose to quote anyone. But why we are on that, defending world champions or the white sox? hey that was a nice counter when you asked about it be expensive, i was just referring to why is it in this thread as suppose to the rumors one where i mention it.
-
QUOTE(qwerty @ Jan 8, 2005 -> 11:23 PM) If other teams offer a certain amount and the bulls match it that player has to come back to the bulls. thanks
-
btw why is this in this thread???
-
QUOTE(qwerty @ Jan 8, 2005 -> 10:55 PM) He is also way too expensive for us. so tell me what you think is "way to expensive" means??? miller sign a contract of 1 yr and 1.5 mil a yr.

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jan 8, 2005 -> 08:24 PM) From Rotoworld: Robb Nen - R - SF Free agent Robb Nen (shoulder) recently threw off the mound back-to-back days without discomfort. We suppose that's a good sign. The Rockies are trying to sign Nen and give him a chance to compete for the closer's role. However, Nen may wait until next month before making any decisions. Jan. 8 - 2:17 pm et Source: Denver Post Maybe he's worth re-signing for a minor league deal? take a care and sign hi. i would hate it if they don't take a chance. very much like wade miller, we should have taken a chance with him as well.

think about it this way, aj will make the pitcher work, fouling off balls, working the count and with pods on base, you can see a pitcher having a 30 + pitch first inning alone.
