QUOTE(Frankensteiner @ Jun 23, 2005 -> 03:38 PM) Here was a Rosenthal piece on Schmidt after his shutout of the Tigers: Rosenthal Article i was wondering if someone was going to bring this article up which scares me away from jason, and i am a huge fan who was always mentioning we should get him. now i am second guessing this reasoning

this yr draft is so much up in the air for me, i can't quite get the feel for it. beside the boras kids, i usually look for players who will or is rumored to fall b/c of signability. Is there any on the radar for any one???

QUOTE(Jabroni @ Jun 6, 2005 -> 12:21 AM) I hope you wouldn't rather have Everett over Frank as our DH. If you think Everett is a better hitter than Thomas, you are sadly mistaken. And Frank just turned 37. Everett is 34. Is it time for Carl to hang it up as well? did i ever say that everett was better than frank or we should keep everett as suppose to frank? No i have always been a big frank supporter going so far as to keep asking "what would a 250-270 avg and 25-30 homer player is worth" i know what i have written in the past b/c i was getting hammered back then. this was some 2 yrs ago. this was a time when a lot of posters was saying trade or do not resign frank. as i said 1 good game does not make a season or a career, i want to see frank stay with the sox, if he rebounds and hits or can stay healty. but can you honestly say that he will? How bout the fact on what he is going to be paid next yr??? Do you think the sox will pay that much for an uncertain player with health issues, assuming he still has lingering effects or other nagging injuries. i see the sox using the money ear mark for frank for a player that can help next yr in free agency. which would leave frank being release. so here is where i would like to see frank retire, in a sox uni instead of bouncing around the league looking for a team to pick him up. ref to carl i have no comments on him. whether he is a solid player on the team or in the clubhouse. however on a realistic note, i will trade anyone who can help this team.

one game does not make a season nor does it make a reason to hold out hope. touche are we.
-
how many times have you seen a player hang on when he should have retired? this reminds me of that kind of situation. FT has had a wonderful career and should retire. on the side note, does anyone think that he would take a secondary roles and not b****, even if the team is winning???

getting a sp was the key, esp a quality pitcher as freddy is. i was one of those who didn't like the trade, not b/c of miguel but b/c we were giving up reed. at the time i thought we got fleeced in the trade. however seeing how freddy being doing, i might as well a give props to kw for this one. only if miguel doesn't pan out.

i just can't believe this trade, the sCrubs pulled out a gem of a trade. williams, watch out, he will rebound, he is struggling b/c of personal troubles, he might not rebound this yr but he will!!!! i been a true believer in this guy for yrs. i been wanting him in a sox uni. this trade may be for the future.

i hate to admit this but the show is iron chef and i could have sworn that that i saw the sox pitcher on it during the xmas vacation. the problem is the show is dubbed and it was a rerun from a earlier 1990's show.

QUOTE(FlaCWS @ Mar 21, 2005 -> 03:27 AM) I am buying tickets to a game and there are two possible locations that I'm considering. Both are about the same price. I've never been to a game at U.S. Cellular so I'm wondering if someone can give me their opinion on which location is better. The two options are: 1. Upper level, behind home plate (slightly toward third base), row 10 2. Lower level, well down right field line, row 30 I tend to prefer the seats behind home plate, but I've heard that the upper level at the Cell is quite far back. I appreciate any advice. if i had a choice, i would take the upper deck. those are right on top the of game and you have the whole field in your vision. row 30 on the rf is pretty far up.

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Mar 21, 2005 -> 03:25 AM) Nah...I hated Jose Valentin and my guess is they just replaced him with another Jose that I'll dislike (ie Contreras). But I hope to hell I'm wrong. Its just it doesn't seem to me that he's figured out how to pitch in the majors. The stuff is there, but that isn't everything. i wonder if he would look good in a met's uni and lets bring bmac to chi

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Mar 21, 2005 -> 03:22 AM) Sounds like Bmac had another good game and its against a lineup he faced in his prior start. Assuming there aren't any rainouts I'll get to see Bmac pitch on Friday in Tuscon against the Brewers. God am I excited to see some baseball the more i been reading about bmac spring, the more i want him to break camp and come north

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Mar 21, 2005 -> 03:21 AM) Supposedly this was the best Josh Stewart has pitched since getting drilled by the baseball in Baltimore a couple years back. yeah i read that somewhere and i was wondering how was his performance on the mound. was jose cont spring worth hoping for jose to be the pitchers the sox are hoping for?
-
QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Mar 21, 2005 -> 03:14 AM) Yeah, I didn't see Jenks at all. Did he do anything?? How'd he look? how did stewart pitch this spring, not being able to follow the team as i had in the past
-
who should be your starting pitchers??? Who should be in the pen??? who are the surprise of the camp??
-
and what will happen to them if they do lie and are found out?
-
there is too many question mark on his knee and when asked to produce medical paper work, scott borass camp didn't come thru. i do believe in kw version instead of the ass of scott borass.
-
the last time the sox drafted a reliever in the first round, that didn't work. i am not too sure that they will take a chance again.
-
how bout lets finish this season and see how our teams performs esp the pitchers. oops btw welcome to the board

QUOTE(BobDylan @ Feb 5, 2005 -> 06:49 AM) Word is Tarantino wants to direct it. oh boy, tatantino??? i mean i like some of his stuff, but i really don't know if he has the chops to direct a bond movie.

that is a change, i remembered that Gerard Butler the phantom movie was in the short running. but the Clive Owens in the short running as well. the idea of Dougray Scott is not a bad choice
