Why everyone should pull for Jeremy Bonderman
SI1020 replied to Cerbaho-WG's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Most dyslexics can learn to read. The unfortunate thing is that for years most "learned" people had no clue about this learning disability, resulting in the labeling of many otherwise intelligent people as "retarded" and such. -
I'm on his side, like him much more than KW. Hope he keeps his edge. I think the team will appreciate it and respond.

I like our pitching coach and am looking forward to good to great things from him. As I said on another thread Garland has frustrated me greatly. Some real good posts here as usual. I do question Garlands mental toughness. When your back is to the wall some pitchers are just able to reach back and find that something extra. I remember that steely glare of Bob Gibson when the game was on the line. Another thing, and I suppose some may tell me I'm full of s*** but I'll say it anyway. I'm so sick of this anal retentive pitch count crap. Pitching is so specialized today that if a young pitcher is starting to get in trouble and he is in the 80, 90, 100 pitch count range many get that little boy lost look on their face. Their looking for help from the cavalry instead of getting a set of cojones and reaching back for that proverbial something extra. Garland doesn't have flame thrower stuff, but when he's on it's good enough for him to be a successful no 3 man in a good rotation. Do it already John.

If it's true I'm disappointed. I got along OK with voodoo, or at least I thought so, even though we don't agree on politics. Oh well the internet can be a hall of mirrors at times.

I agree 3 or is it 4? What happened? Can't leave us hangin' like this.

lol maybe the ledge jumping is something we should keep doing ....it seems to work for us huh............ I'm a worrier by nature. I don't know if I'm a worrier because I'm a WS fan or if I'm a WS fan because I'm a worrier.

I tried to explain that in another thread. Just get really sick or have an injury and you will find out that medicine is far from an exact science. MRI's, CT Scans and other high tech diagnostic tests are not fool proof and are at times open to multiple interpretations. That being said I hope nothing serious is wrong with Koch and Wright. HSC has shown me once again why this is basically the only White Sox web site I deal with anymore. HSC and some others have access to good info and are willing to share it with us out of town fans without connections. I for one appreciate it.

i am not siding with anyone, but steff, have you heard of kw still calling the shots during the game as he was last yr. Yes LDF I have heard of that as well as "meetings" before EVERY game where JM is given a plan of action with several scenerios and what he "should" do in those instances. Now I didn't get to see the game last night (family issues) but I was told that when he made the change to White last night that he looked "pained"..? Like it wasn't something he wanted to do? And Roman.. Rick did NOT ask for the day off. He asked Cooper if he could get a day off "soon". He did not say he needed off last night, he did not tell Cooper that he was not feeling well. This is a fact straight from a players mouth. Steff for whatever it's worth I like reading you. I work in an information related field and you appear to be a real good source as are others here. Assuming you are correct about Manuel being puppeted he needs to tell KW where to shove it.

MOTHERF*CKING B*TCHASS DIPSHIT PASSIONLESS SOX!!!!

Agreed on Borchard. At this point we are weak in CF and it's time for Joe to seize the moment when we need him so bad. Rios is not a CFielder. Let's not let this season get away from us which is what some are afraid of. That is why Heather, Baggs, et al are at their wits end. This should be a really good year. Now start doing it White Sox!!!! -

You know what. I haven't bothered to read this whole thread yet but I like the sentiment. You're a lady with some fire in the belly and some spunk. I tip my hat to you Heather. -
Like he's on Quaaludes.

Same thing happened to me last nite. Had to type in Soxtalk. This has happened before.

I agree but he frustrates the living s*** out of me. Sometimes his stuff is so lively and sometimes at my advanced age I want to grab a bat against him. I question his mental toughness. I think he has the mechanics and the pitches to be successful over the long haul.

According to the latest census (2000) the US population was 69.1% non hispanic white. This is down from 75.6% in 1990. Between 1860 and 1960 it ranged from about 86 to 89%. With current trends you can safely say that today the US is about 1/3 minorities. I did a quick askjeeves and found out that the percentage of minorities of the four main branches of the armed services is as follows: Army 40% Navy 34% Marines 32% Air Force 24%. During the Clinton administration we were lectured continually that our government and all its major departments and agencies should "look like America." It seems to me that the armed forces are doing a bang up job in that regard. Please WTF is there to complain about? This is getting oh so tiresome. This continual blather is not Democrat, not liberal, it's so far to the left, to the point of painful absurdity. Why don't you do something normal? Take a hobby, have a beer, go to a strip bar, learn how to drag race, go fishing, (oops forgot fish aren't vegetables!) pick on a guy who bench presses 500lbs and see if you can remain upright. You're young and your letting life pass you by. Believe me this is not "progressive" politics and the world will never I repeat never see things your way.

Having survived two near fatal illnesses ( in 96 and 00 ) I can tell you first hand that medicine is a lot more of an art than it is a science no matter what our doctor may tell you. I've spent some time trying to gather as much info on SARS as possible. I'm more than a little concerned. Anybody study the 1918 flu epidemic? Any medical people post here? In any case the news is getting a little worse with each passing day. I could see the cost being astronomical not only in terms of human life but economically as well. The airlines and travel industries are going to take a big hit when they need it least and some businesses in Asia are already slowing to a crawl. Hope they find a better treatment fast. Also, I agree with PK, there is no real good way to protect yourself from this. From all indications the virus is airborne and is fairly to highly contagious. Not everybody seems to get affected which is one good sign.

Granted society is more "liberalized" now...but Old Hollywood gets romanticized; Grace Kelly, Talullah Bankhead, Joan Crawford, Errol Flynn, Clark Gable, Rita Hayworth and countless others could give current stahs run for their money in the depravity/amorality (I sould like a damn preacher, lol) department. I'm sure what you say is right I just am not a big fan of modern pop culture. I'd just much rather see those stars you mentioned and countless others of those eras than what Hollywood is putting out today. No plot, no dialogue, middle school boy farting in the back of the classroom humor and mindless special effects. You couldn't pay me to see most of the movies that are being made today. I realize that will win me no points here or anywhere else but I like what I like.

I don't have any idea what type of person Halle Berry is, but for the life of me I don't understand some "men". If she is a selfish vacuous beauty then just dump her. I never understood the need some men have to beat the crap out of their women. I never met David Justice but he didn't seem to be that kind of guy. Not a big fan of modern Hollywood but liked the work of Wesley Snipes for the most part. Oh well, you never know.

I eat meat and fish and think PETA is nuts and hunting is just fine and dandy. Wanton cruelty is unacceptable. Florida has some of the best wildlife in the USA. I just love that state from the Panhandle to the Everglades. What a jerk. What a Cub.

I know all about the Heisman jinx but I still wanted the Bears to have a shot at him. Now I hope for Leftwich. Some people are concerned about his injuries but whan an arm and what guts that kid has.

Life is rarely fair, but like MM stated sometimes your karma catches up with you.

I'm a lover of music and the arts but don't discuss it much because I don't think too many folks share my interests. Don't want to be run off the board you know. I was driving in my car, nothing but s*** on the radio so I pop in my Django Rheinhardt CD which featured Stephane Grapelly. Both were jazz virtuosos of the guitar and violin respectively. The music doesn't get any better IMO. Grapelly was gay or at least that's what I learned from NPR who did a feature on him when he died. The guy was a musical genius is all I know, along with Django two of my five favorite musicians of all time. I already mentioned Cole Porter previously in this thread, probably to the yawns of everyone who read it. Porter was IMO the most gifted American songwriter of all time. "Anything Goes" and "I've got you under my skin" are two of my favorites. Cole Porter also gay, as were and are countless of the most artistically gifted people in the history of man. Now I'm as hetero as a guy can be. I love women and maybe some day I'll have all the girlfriends I deserve. That however is not going to prevent me from enjoying the work of Grapelly, Porter and countless other artists who were or are gay. Make of that what you wish. If what they do or what you think they do offends you oh well. I have a strong libertarian streak and to me the private and personal is the private and personal. I look forward to hearing Django and Stephane again tomorrow. My life is stess on top of stress at the moment and they are helping me survive. You know what else? They were both French!!!

It's a virus and as such can mutate into a more virulent form. There is good reason to be concerned about SARS. The Chinese government really dropped the ball and endangered the world by trying to cover up the number and severity of the cases.

You should have the seen the picture of the guy after he was hit. I believe in hard aggressive baseball but something like that is lower than low. Anybody know how this "prospect' Christensen is doing these days?
